Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi all when the msfs vfr map is undocked, doesn't matter if the Sim it's windowed or full screen or main or secondary monitor I drop 10 frames instantly,seems to happen on any windows I un dock in the sim, just curious if this is a bug or just a limitation Thanks Wayne

I use the MFG Crosswind V2 rudder pedals with all of my flight sims. They work great in everything except FS 2020. I normally fly the Kingair and using the pedals pushes my plane into the ground if I am not careful on take off. The rudder is full left or right or center with no in-between. In the other sims the rudder has full motion and is very smooth, so I know that it is working. In FS 2020 the pedals are working as if they are a full on or off switch. Yes, I have adjusted the sensitivity and other sliders but still it is full left or right rudder. I tested the pedals with the MFG setup program and the pedals are working correctly. I know that increasing the render scaling is a quick way to kill frames but in trying to tweak my settings I experimented with lowering it to simulate 1080 vs my native 1440 resolution. I went from low 30’s at heathrow in the rain preset with the 787 to mid 20’s even after waiting a few minutes for it to stabilize. This makes no sense to me. Am I doing something wrong? I also noticed after setting it back to 100 the FPS hit is still there some until I restart the sim. Do I j use need to try restarting after changing it to a lower setting?

Hi, wondering if this has happened to any else or if anyone may have any input. I cannot get my Saitek rudder to work properly in FS2020. I have assigned the "rudder yaw Left & right" as normal, I have also gone to Sensitivities and ran it through the motions w/o any issues, but then, when I run FS2020, they work like an 'on' or "off' button. I'll push it to the 50% point w/o any reaction, and then, if I keep pushing, it'll go to 100% instantly.....there's no middle ground or gradual progression, it's like a full on/off button. I've changed sensitivities, I've tried reassigning several times, all w/o any luck. I'm at a loss....any input would be greatly appreciate…

Started up, everything running, then electrical cuts out, panel goes dark, engines still running. Could take off and land with dark panel. Any idea what could cause that to happen? Thanks!

Finally got 2020 downloaded (by chance I might add) and it is running. It recognizes my joystick in the setup, but not when I am ready to fly. Any source or info on getting this going? I am certainly not using a keyboard to fly.

Looks like the Carenado 182 got an update today. I don't own the plane but if you do, maybe the update is a nice improvement over the current version.

It seemed that when ever I started MSFS 2020 the screen would show checking for updates. I don't see that any more. In the profile content, it shows that a "Core Content Mandatory Package 80.74 GIB" available to download. It says to relaunch the program to update but it doesn't do it. It also does not allow me to check the check box for it. How do I get this update. And does MSFS automatically check for updates anymore. Thanks Walt

Does anyone know if msfs2020 has any function to get winds aloft while en-route? I can get the FSS frequencies but can't seem to make any call to them. I could work around it by pulling it up in ForeFlight, but wondering how one goes about keeping abreast of weather while in-flight in this sim. I'll take any general guidance :) thanks

I'm currently using MSFS 2020 and ForeFlight with the Flight Events app installed on my PC (from Flight Tracker). This provides real-time location shown in ForeFlight while using MSFS 2020. It's a great way to fly and utilize ForeFlight. Previously, when I used Foreflight with P3D (using FSXFlight app), I could get all sim traffic to show correctly in ForeFlight. Yes, it´s true! Carenado launched his "Carenado CT182T" airplane and is another rushed product! You can't event start from cold and dark, before starting the engines first with a keyboard shorcut. Don't buy this product! Companies have to learn!

Having some issues. Have the 10 game disc version and got the premium deluxe version of it. When I click on the program it goes direct to Microsoft store, the disc is in and have tried to reload but nothing seems to work. anyone else experience this or have an idea how to fix?

If you don't use the flight planning in MSFS but just start at a gate and program it yourself in de flightcomputer of the Neo. Will ATC use this to guide you? I want to use the actual (realise) runways and not the (often) wrong RWY MSFS2020 orders you to use. And same with Flightplan.

Hello everyone, My question is about if anyone has figured out how to add red beacon lights that are visible from distances to scenery buildings? Although in my scenery Düsseldorf landmarks , I have figured out how to add red beacon lights to the tower by exporting a sphere emitting red color, however this has a drawback that object will disappear if you move the camera further away. Hi Folks. Could someone give me a quick run down on joining a multiplayer session. I have watched a few videos and decided to try at EGKA. I joined at a parking spot and sure enough saw lots of 'Name Tabs' but no visual aircraft. I started the Cessna 152 and tuned the Comms but no ATC 'Chatter'. I must be missing a step or two along the way. Do I have to be invited by someone to join? Also, at present I have no Flight Sim 'Friends'. I know, I know, what a saddo LOL. How do I become friends with people so that I can arrange a flight with them. Also, as an aside, I can't get the 152 to start from the key. I always have to do Ctrl E to start it. I'm sure that …

I am actually having this in the XCub but did experience in the DA62 also: When i advance the throttle to Full, the RPM only rises to about 2600RPM instead of 2700RPM causing significantly lower takeoff performance. RPM starts to rise when airspeed rises at/above 80 kts or so. So actually Full throttle is reached after Flaps up and after initial climbout. Am i missing something here? Best regards, Tom

Hi all - I'm flying the Textron C172 steam gauge version, which has two GPS 430s(?) and no "traditional" radio stack. I'm using TrackIR, which is great, but when it comes to trying to grab the GPS knobs... not so much. Between the sensitivity of mouse position over controls and the slightest move of my head causing "shake" in the view, it takes me minutes to dial in a frequency. I know the ALT+click a screen trick to get a popout to a new window, but unfortunately this only seems to pop out the display portion of the GPS, and not the entire panel. I'd really like to see the knobs/buttons on the unit in a "fixed" window as well (same goes for the xponder, that one'…

Hello, Are you also experiencing problem at engine start? When ever I start from cold and dark, I can't start up the engines following the aircraft's checklist. The only possibility I can think is that the fuel selector valve (which you can't move) does not work. And for some reason I suppose that when loaded in cold and dark the aircraft understand tava the valve is closed.

Let's say I want to attempt VFR flight at minimums. Is there a way for me to specify an exact three statute mile visibility in the weather options? I have not found a way to do this yet. I can mimic it with low cloud layers of varying density and coverage, but I'm never sure what the exact visibility is. Thank you

Imagine if for a low monthly dollar amount, a user could buy a monthly subscription in the marketplace to have all of the products a 3rd party developer has available for MSFS. For example, MSFS has the normal 3 different version that we have now of Standard, Deluxe and Premium and in addition there is one more version that is supported by major 3 party developers. Orbx, FlyTampa, FlightBeam, FSDreamTeam all come to mind. All of there products are put into the sim as they are rolled out for stand alone purchases. So when the user starts the sim, the streaming data for scenery puts all those products into the sim and every month as more products are released the user gets …

Hi all, Have been trying to learn the new file structure from the old fs2004 ( I skipped fsx ) but struggling I can't get any of the available liveries to show up on the list after installation. I installed flightsim2020 via the Xbox game pass (basic version) The latest one I tried was the mega pack V8 I extracted the pack and placed the whole extracted folder in the "community" folder but no luck Any ideas appreciated....

So, 2 issues. the sim sees my cougar hotas but in flight doesnt control the axcis also, in flight keystrokes are not seen. thanks
