Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi Folks. Would someone please take the time to have a look at my home field of EGPJ? The vehicles in my sim are all 'upended' as if they are sitting on an invisible slope. The real world car park is flat so it is quite disappointing to see the cars all sitting tilted. I'm not a techie as such, so not sure at all if it is 'fixable' Thanks in advance...Ken.

Did you experience a crash with the last update of the A320 mod? This is what happened to me yesterday.

I posted this over on the Offiical MSFS forums but thought it might be worthwhile repeating here I bought an Hotas X about 2 weeks before MSFS 2020 was released. I was going to get a Yoke and pedal setup but couldn’t find any on sale for love nor money. I installed the thrustmaster software that came with it and fired it up and all seemed ok. When FS 2020 was finally started for the first time it instantly recognised the Hotas X and I had no problems setting up the buttons to my liking. So I've tried some of the acrobatic planes, the last one being that pretty red biplane. Holy cow are they twitchy and sensitive! At first I thought perhaps this was due to the sim being too sensitive in how it reads my flight stick, but I watched the ailerons while performing very mild banking moves with the stick, and they barely move, yet my plane goes into a snap roll. I basically have to fly with my fingertips if I want to fly normal-like. Even when I want to do things like a single snap roll, I have to be very ginger with the stick lest I end up performing 10 neck-breaking rolls instead. So my question is, being a flight sim pilot only, is this realistic, or is …

Hi all Had the sim from day one and it is just awesome! But only yesterday did I start trying to configure multiplayer. I've been on you tube and watched a couple of videoes and it all seems to be working ok, I think? Can anybody just confirm to me what settings I have to have on and off in the General Settings menu, I see there are sub menus for Data, Traffic etc....what should these settings be on? And also do you have to configure it for multiplayer everytime you load the sim up?? Many thanks for your advice guys...hope I am making sense Regards Paul EGCC

Hi, Is it possible to use FSX addon aircraft in FS 2020? I've not been able to find anything concrete on this. I did try dropping the addon folder into 2020, but the directory structure is a bit different. Anybody had any success, or know if it's possible? Before anyone asks why, I've got something quite niche I would like to use (a paramotor) It's a few years old, I did contact author but no response. Thanks in advance.

I would love to go XBOX for FS 2020, but what about all of the USB Flight hardware I own? IE CH Products Yoke, Pedals and Throttle?? and GoFlight LGT?? The controller for XBOX is adequate but nowhere near the realism of the above USB hardware.. Thoughts? Thanks!

Started a fresh topic on this as it is a fundamental issue (flaw) for us "part time" simmers who can only do flights in sessions of 45 - 60 minutes or so. I actually thought I had cracked this with the TBM 930 at least, still having the flight plan active on loading a saved game and no drama from the AP re-engaging NAV and ALT. Unfortunately on a second reload not so fortunate - the FMS was blank and aircraft just flying on a northerly heading. So at present we have the Garmin 1000 fitted GA aircraft which retain the flight plan but default back to a previous leg. AP more often than not inducing a diving spin which is unrecoverable. I am loving all the development being by third party developers for aircraft liveries and world scenery addons. I had recently put several addons in the community folder and one in the fsadon-vegetation (better trees), and have experienced my first crash with MSFS 2020. I will remove the addons, and experiment. Is there such as thing as too many addons in the community folder? Sucks up the RAM and CTD? Thanks for your input. Duane

I looked forward to msfs, preordered and paid for it. When the big day arrived, the me web site would only allow me to download my purchase to my "C" drive. My C drive is solid state, relatively small, and very full. I spoke with Microsoft reps. My money was very promptly refunded. I ended up buying a competitive product. I would consider buying msgs again if I could install it on my 2 tb D drive. Does anyone know how. Jim Elder

Today FSX/FSX-SE/FSW/P3D all have a very distributed file structure. It is a MESS! Files for the main program are spread over many different folder locations and Addon can live all around. I want MS to make the installation and locations av files as easy as XPLANE does. Everything goes into the main XPLANE folder. This is simple, clean and easy for end users. Why make it so dam...... complicated? Keep it simple!

Hi, I have managed to mess up my Baron config file. Is there any way to force MSFS to update short of re downloading the hole thing. I know this could be done by just removing the aircraft file and on restart the sim would update any missing data.; I tried this, but since the patch It seems this has changed, I don't see MSFS searching for updates during the startup sequence anymore. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Is there a brightness control someplace? I haven't found it and both screen are dim, not dark, but needed some brightness. Thanks.

I have installed the “FPS Increase -Lower 2D Instrument refresh Rate” Mod by 2Cas. I have found that if I expand the GPS display (Right Alt click on display) my FPS doubles. I typically run at 30-40 fps. This action has me running at 50 – 70 fps. I enlarge and move the display to a second monitor. I’ve tested this on the Cessna 172 G1000 and the Beach Baron.

Has anyone else had a problem with the VL3 taking off wildly as soon as you hit "ready to fly"? Just started doing it and I can't figure out why.

Just curious what about ATC.. I know there are many online atc services like Vatsim , IVAO etc. But is Microsoft focusing on atc services built in the simulator. Whole world is there.. 40000 airports .. can Microsoft come with completely integrated atc system which is online and works as Vatsim, Ivao... Hi Couple of questions about the Diamond DA40 TDO rudder control - I don't have rudder pedals so I use keys 0 and enter: Veering to the left when it taxis even at low speed - is this overdoing of the p-factor? Using numpad for rudder it's really sensitive - I cant find a way to reduce the key sensitivity. Thanks

For the life of me I can't figure out how to disable that option. My sim looks pale and the colours are washed out and overly bright with very little depth or vibrancy. This can definitely be attributed to HDR - I have a similar experience with p3d. In the latter though, HDR can be either tuned or disabled altogether - something I can't accomplish with FS2020. In the sim, this option is grayed out at the "on" state. Disabling by manually editing the options file is also futile as it resets to active once the sim is launched. I windows 10 control panel the option doesn't even exist (set to off - unavailable). So, any idea as to how do I go about disabli…

Hello Guys . I am new here and from Germany , I have the Premium Version of MFS 2020 but unfortunately I found out that Stuttgart Airport "STR" is not on the Global Map ?? Sitting at KABQ in the GA area. Suddenly a Mooney appears next to me. Then Southwest 2305 requests pushback... And the Mooney starts moving backward. Then it requests to end the pushback, and the Mooney stops. Then SW2305 requests taxi, and as soon as clearance is given, off goes the Mooney. Halfway through its turn away from the parking area, the Mooney gets duplicated - the new Mooney is sitting where the old Mooney just vacated. Then Generic Nsomethingoranother requests pushback, and the second Mooney starts moving backward. Huh. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to follow the "Southwest" Mooney to see if the sim made it behave like a 737 on takeoff. …

When I roll my mouse cursor over the VFR map regardless of airplane...the airplane will nosedive...anyone else? Is there a fix?

Hello! I would just like to warn those installing from Steam that the reported disk space needed (1 GB) is complete BS. That reported size is just for the installer, which then downloads another 160+ GB. Although you can choose where to put the additional content, I really wish Steam would force developers to report the full size requirement.
