I eagerly returned to the MSFS fold as soon as the product was available after spending some time with X plane but becoming tired with the never ending tweaking that was needed to that game to make it enjoyable than rather than actually been able to spend time flying aircraft! Clearly MSFS has raised the bar but to make it truly a game changer it would be great if the following could be addressed: The twitchy rudder The random and excessive movement of aircraft when no wind is selected The lack of trees in some areas where clearly they should be present Some of the scenery oddities like raised rivers addressed eg Alaska Manuals for the defaul…

Hi there, I really don’t know how to better describe it, but almost all of the larger cities look like a scene from the walking dead, almost as if a nuke had been set off. I haven’t been able to capture a screenshot, so before I do, has anyone else seen this. I’m not sure it’s my bandwidth, but changing from high to ultra helps a bit, but then performance tanks. Right now the sim reminds me of FSX, where the sharpest textures were mostly behind you..... Cheers, Pete

  5. Based on many of the interviews with MS Devs (particularly the recent pilots podcast where they say they don't want to do too much and put 3PD out of business) here is my view on this. I think the planes are intentionally in this state. I don't mean bugs. I mean missing features and inop buttons. I think MS are worried about killing the 3PD market if they do too much. They have said this themselves in interviews. If the A320 has more functionality how many sales would FSLabs and Aerosoft lose with their buses? There are a lot of default aircraft in the sim and if they are all to a higher standard the community demands, how many would be queueing up for 3PD aircraft? …

I installed MSFS 2020 from physical DVD´s to an external SSD and then updated I currently have "MSFSPackages" with the "Community" and "Official" folders down this path: This computor-My external SSD-Users-My Name-AppData-Local-MSFSPackages But I also have another path: This computor-My external SSD-WpSystem-S-1-5 and a long row of numbers-AppData-Local-Packages-Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe Now on the internet this path should lead to a folder called "Packages" containing the "Official" and "Community" folders, but I do not have those there, instead they follow the path above The MSFS program is in a third folder on the SSD ca…

How do I get the values to input on INIT B and the Perf pages? In FSlabs they have tools and you can use Simbrief but I am not sure how to get the values in MSFS.

Screenshot of my 4 screen setup. Flying a ferry flight in the C182T from NH USA to Sweden, with stops in Labrador, Greenland, Iceland and Scotland. On third leg over Greenland Bing is having a very interesting time. I guess this is to be expected, looks more like Mordor than the IceCap. It keeps growing and changing as I fly. Most of the flight had pretty good ortho, but Greenland needs help.

  9. Hello fellow simmers. Is it possible to install addon scenery on a separate SSD / M.2 disk? I'm planning to get two separate 1TB M.2 disk to my new upcoming pc build for Msfs 2020 instead of one 2TB disk, but I’m not sure if it possible to e.g have a shortcut from the community folder that points to another M.2 disk? Or if it’s feasible to achieve the addon installation in another way to a separate M.2 disk?

Dear all, I have been unable to use SpaceMouse Pro as a driver/controller for MSFS 2020. I have not found anything about it on the web and I am completely desperate because I have not been able to use the simulator. In addition, there is no guide to be based on and some kind of manual is missing ... Could someone tell me how the 3D SpaceMouse Pro can be used?. Thanks in advance.

  11. Here's my attempt for downtown Oakville, Ontario - 3D photogrammetry (mesh and textures) imported from Google Maps, heavily edited in Blender, edited for brightness, contrast and color-corrected in Lightroom and imported into MSFS. Very very tricky thing to do. Color was the toughest - now I think it blends nicely with the sorrounding "autogen" scenery. Here are a few screenshots with different lighting and weather. You can see where it ends by the trees - autogen trees are more fluffy, while photogrammetry trees are very rough. Without color correction it stands out like a sore spot. I will add new Hospital with helipad and Burlington Air Park, a local GA airport, which …

I totally love this sim, but it's obvious that Asobo has counted on Photogrammetry to "fill in the gaps". While the handcrafted POI's are skillfully drawn, this sim has much less of them than previous generations, relying almost completely on Photogrammetry to provide most of the detail. Case in Point. Cape Canaveral, (Cape Kennedy) has always had hand crafted versions of the VAB and launch towers since the earliest days of flight sim. It was there the first time MSFS included Florida. The satellite imagery of the area is of course spot on, but VAB is now nothing more than a big block building and the launch pads, smaller generic towers. MSFS is a great big open…

Just received an email from Navigraph with instructions to download the beta client after having signed up on their website. I think this program started last week, but not sure if this has been shared and I'm excited. Here's some info that they gave in the email: "..you can expect changes to the navigational data: Missing airports have been added (e.g. EDDS and ZBAD) Missing procedures have been added (e.g. ILS 16 at LIRF) Missing navaids have been added Additional VFR waypoints have been added More specifically: 7,760 VHF Navaids have been updated 3,327 NDB Navaids have been updated 70,944 Enroute Waypoints…

I notice that the OBS button is missing from between the PFD and CDI key on the primary display. Is the OBS function completely missing? Or is there a way to use it somehow still? Thanks.

  15. Started by KERNEL32,

I am blown away by the quality of the included airports and scenery... sure some airports might be missing but have many of us checked out airparks yet? Something about these residential airports that screams for a linked trip around the countryside. For example, I checked out Abel Island Airport (IA23) and it looks fabulous! There are MANY just in the USA to visit. Not sure they are all modelled but the ones I've checked so far are great. Now if we could only land, then golf and fish in this sim ... 😄 IA23: https://ibb.co/v10hMqY More airparks - https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1iZzR4PzTHJ-jXhNByere6X7qyYE&ll=42.819577994336086%2C-91.13127291816676&…

  16. ModMan vs Flight Simulator Liveries Manager. I have used ModMan in the past in DCS. I believe, that the liveries manager is dedicated for the liveries, while ModMan is for just about all mods. I have also used JSGME, and the later OVGME. I normally no longer use these, well because I have gotten older and wanted my life and hobby to be less complicated, (excuse me if it is taken the wrong way, I mean it in the best way for those that have built and maintained these very good tools for countless users). I am also hesitant because while a sim that is in the upgrading and patching stages, can get messed up if you don't disable the mods during patching. Anyone have …

  17. Is it relatively straightforward or do I need to redo my settings? I am building a new computer for MSFS.

  18. Do you believe, it will be ever possible to setup several PCs, each generating separate view in MFS2020, with all the scenery streaming and generation (including clouds). Bandwidth issues aside, I wonder if it will be ever possible to have the image generated by 3 separate PCs in sync. So most probably, for the multidisplay systems we should rather count on the power of most modern GPUs and (hopefully) implementation of multi monitor support.

Hello - I know "multi monitor" isn't supported yet with pop out windows, but can anyone confirm they are running three monitors in with Nvidia Surround or in the MSFS settings? I have triple 24" 2K with Tracik IR on a i7-10700k / 2080ti / 64bg 3600mhz ram g.skill setup and hope to run decent settings across all three screens.

Start a new free flight, select departure point and choose flight conditions, select custom weather, change the ground level wind to be a 90 degree x-wind at 25 kts, add another wind layer at 2000 feet same direction/speed, click back to map view, see the wind has updated in the icon, load the flight, roll past the limp looking wind sock, rotate and take hands off the controls and I'm flying straight as an arrow. Anyone else have this, or anyone else have wind working correctly? (live weather is disabled)

For PC version, I think MS/Asobo should consider remaking the UI, and let the community be involved along the development journey. For instance put out 5 basic UI designs/layouts and let the community vote on which is best. After the basic UI layout and design is coded, show it and then do further rounds of voting for the Menu, Dialogs, Fonts, and color styles etc. Maybe do 3 or 4 rounds of voting for the User Interface, so it can be signed off by the Flight sim community. 25. So photogrammetry is really nice from 1000’ up. I’m wondering, though if there might be a way to set a photogrammetry exclusion maybe 1/2 mile to 1 mile around airports. On approach and on the ground the results are just not cutting it. I’d rather see AI generated structures.
