Was doing pattern work (touch and go's) yesterday at my RL home airfield in the stock 152. Had real-world weather enabled. Slight crosswind at about 6 knots. I have to say, he flight physics are pretty darn good. Of my 3 landings, two were pretty good, one was an absolutely perfect downwind wheel-kissing crosswind landing. I've found in P3D that some aircraft land well, others don't. For a stock aircraft in the sim to handle as well as this one does, I'm impressed. Ground handling is still appalling, but that's another story. 😊

When flying, the airplane bounces around so much that its darn near uncontrollable..Any fixes to this or that's the way it is? 120.00 dollars for this..

Hey everyone, Something I have noticed. I have flown ILS Approaches (not sure if that matters) with the A320 probably 20-30 times at this point. Something I always notice is that no matter what airport I am going to, whether it is at sea level or thousands of feet above, ATC has me start my descent at 120 NM from the airport. I think I noticed this with the 787 as well, but don't use it as much. I was wondering if 120 miles is a realistic descent distance no matter the airport, and if others have noticed this as well.

I could be wrong but I thought there was a weather fix in the last update. Just went to Miami Executive where the real world weather was rain and 30knot wind. On the world map it was the same. click "fly" and I'm at the airport with a 3knot wind and not a single cloud in the sky.

For those interested, about a week ago SlidHydra647449 posted a tree height fix over in the official forums. 👏 https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/how-to-fix-the-tree-trees-height-bug-how-to-guide-with-pics/139607 Not tried it yet, but it sounds like all tree (and other vegetation) species can have their min/max heights configured in a XML file. Great! 👍

  6. I was wondering what internet ports FS 2020 uses, and if there would be any benefit if I set up port forwarding in my router for those ports? I'm not really informed enough to understand if there would be a benefit for FS2020, but I found an internet page which supposedly shows the following ports, Secondly, would I be introducing a security hazard by opening ports for FS2020? Thank you for all your opinions!

  7. If this has happened to you or one of your flying buddies, please add to this post with whatever details you can provide! What happens... In multiplayer mode, one or several participants lose all engine power and/or experience a loss of elevator control, putting them into a dive. Thus far, when we have seen this happen, the victim has a Carenado airplane (C182 or M20) installed. Even though he is not flying this airplane, another pilot in the virtual sky is, and MSFS2020 will load this airplane visual model to display it. Now we are into "detective mode".... I suspect that this Carenado model has DRM code in it, and this code activates and issues Mixture…

  11. I know that in preperation for the weekly updates, the server often updates on a Sunday night (my time uk).. but something changed last night that on my GPU monitors has now started pushing my Graphics card to 100% all the time... the CPU dropped a bit but the GPU went from being constantly at around 60 - 70% to being flat out 100% constantly. I've checked with both the windows app tracker and CPUID monitor and both are reporting a huge climb in GPU usage. Also checked with an empty Community folder. Has anyone else seen this since last night at about 7:30 UK time so around mid afternoon Pacific? It suddenly changed whilst I was on a 4 hour A320neo flig…

  12. Started by Manny,

OK. today I flew the B787 Dreamliner and it was going well on final approach on the ILS, the LOC/GS were on, then I shut down the AP and manually tried to put it down. But the AT (Throttle) would not shut off? I am using the sidewinder joystick (for now) so I can't quickly do the throttle reverse (The airbus and I believe the 747 shuts the throttle when I physically move the throttle to 0) ... But when I shut down on the joystick, the engine/ the throttle of the B787 is still revved up,. I have to use the mouse to shut the AT switch down and by then Its too late.. I go off beyond the end of the runway. Any idea, how I can close the landing? Any suggestions?

  13. Flying all the default planes which is all we can do, only the C152 and the 172 in the Premium edition with analogue give me real satisfaction. First because thats how i flown all my life. Second? because I dont think its fun to fly in Flight Simulator 4 (yes you read well: 4) style of cockpit. The two gigantic MFDs occupy nearly the whole monitor, and its interior graphics are FS4 quality. So by staring at them all the time you are using FS4 hahah If i had a real plane i would love those Garmins, because its REAL life, everything is real, in flightsim you turn around and you see your room, furniture, nothing is real, so at least in the monitor I wish some…

I do not know what happened yesterday I was flying from Texas to San Francisco on two separate flights. Both flights were ILS landings. First leg went fine and dandy other than the lineup on the runway was about 2 degrees off but the approach and glide slope were good. After I landed I took a little break, never shutdown the sim. Sat back down setup my flight for another ILS landing everything looks good to go ZERO ATC traffic...complete silence I take off engage AP (good) Engage FD (good) Engage NAV (not good) plane takes off on its own path and doesnt follow the gps at all, so I take over the flight and use my HDG to get the plane b…

  15. Hello.. I have noticed if I am in external views I cannot deploy flaps and spoilers neither via controls nor via buttons. I have to be inside of the cockpit. Before the patch I was able, for example, to move spoiler lever and see spoilers to rise in external views. Now I don’t see any controls movement in external views and I cannot even activate controls to move. All aircraft are affected. Clean sim install after the latest patch. Thanks

  16. Started by Stratocruiser1,

I have always used the FSUIPC product to assign and calibrate my yoke, pedals, and throttle quad and want to use the new v7 for the same things in MSFS. Using FSUIPC, it was easy to create an aircraft specific model for each aircraft. In FSX, and P3D, I could disable those controllers in the sim options so there was no conflict in running them through FSUIPC. I can't seem to find anything in MSFS to do this? Do we no longer have to de disable them when using FSUIPC? Thanks

  17. Started by stubbornswiss,

I recently purchased the full copy of FSUIPC7. After installing it to the default location, I got a desktop icon created. However, when I click on the icon to run FSUIPC7, I get the error message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item". Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. NB: Prior to this I was using the beta with no problems whatsoever.

  19. That is, without closing down MSFS and restarting which takes forever. It was easy in FSX, just swap out the aircraft for another and back, but that doesn't work in MSFS. Look for robert young's message in this old thread. It is 20 times faster when editing flghtmodel.cfg to make a particular plane fly differently. (Such as changing the elevator / rudder / aileron effectiveness, a different kind of change than adjusting sensitivity). You can do all kinds of changes by editing flightmodel.cfg with windows notepad. Back up the file before editing. FS2020 - Modifying Flight Model CFG without restarting Sim?

  21. Be advised, running the "MSFS with FSUIPC7" .bat file may trigger a malware response from your anti-virus software as I just discovered first hand. This is a false-postive response as confirmed by John Dawson on the Dawson forum.

  22. I have taken three recent GA flights, one in the G58 and the other two in the 172 classic, and not getting response from changes with mixture. Using the Saitek USB quadrant. I checked the assignment in Controls and that was fine. I could see the mixture lever moving in time with my quadrant movements. So after scratching my head for a few minutes today I went into Assistance and found that Auto Mixture was selected. I am 100% certain that I previously had that option set to Off. 100%. So how did it get back to On? I believe I had checked that setting following the previous MSFS 2020 update. I have flown three or four flights during that span with the DA62, a…

  23. At first I thought online player traffic was dumb because I wanted to fly around other AI traffic who I knew wouldn't be goofing around but I downloaded the fs live traffic liveries mod and I know they have big plans in the future like sharing paints so that other player's liveries will show up in your session, so I figured what the hell I am tired of these empty airports might as well try live players on top of live ai traffic and man I tell you that was pretty awesome, I just had a flight into MKJP (I guess everyone wanted to fly near TS Eta) but I was there for an OnAir mission I had and there were 4 or 5 other players, one was taxiing 2 were on final in front of me, i…

  25. I'm one who really has had no 'significant' problems with the initial premium install nor any of the 5 patches so far. I'm sorry for those who have been plagued by this but quite frankly it's very hard to tell how prevalent this is. PLEASE keep this restricted to what it is, INSTALLATION WOES--not post-patch issues which break or adversely affect prior functionality that is for another poll. It's hard to write good polls but hopefully this will shine a light on this particular issue. This poll is not going to get at potential causes beyond it is restricted to installs done thru the MS Store, not Steam, and does not consider add-ons, community folder additons/hac…
