Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

When in windowed mode not full screen when I press escape it doesn’t bring me back to the menu where I can change aircraft or go back to the challenges. The drop down menu on the top middle works but don’t see an option to get me back to main menu at the start of the simulator. not sure if this is a known bug or something on my side. Thanks.

Just did a quick hop in the Caribbean to test out the update. Real world weather worked! Spot on in fact. And the ground handling in the 152 seemed much improved. Quite happy!

Why is this bug still here after 6 SIX patches?? After the first flight you get the wireless symbol in the weather preview section in the flight planning page, and --kts winds at departure and arrival. And if you start the flight when this happens it's clear skyes everywhere. Unless you restart the game, unbelievable.

Hello all, I have a small issue that I have seen since patch 5, I have noticed that the FPS will drop after sometime arriving in a payware airport for from example from 40fps to 20fps and GPU utilization will be 100%. This does not happen if I start from the airport, it only happens upon arriving. The only way I can recover the fps is by resizing the MSFS window, for example making the window smaller and then bigger again in order to force the scene to be re-rendered. Has anybody noticed this before? P/S: FXAA is off and my settings mostly from high to ultra with 100 render scale on 2k resolution.

After the update my right mouse does not allow panning?

For some strange reason, I don't have the Asobo Bonanza G36 listed anymore in my aircraft choices. It's listed in the game directory. Suggestions...?

Bonsoir 🙂 So, after the latest patch, and even tho all the options are ticked in the settings, i have the basic scenery and cities from MSFS, as if i was not connected to the internet. Is it just a server poop from MS, or do i have a problem? I did all the things you'r supposed too, community folder, reboot, etc. Any ideas? Because right now, its basically FSX with new planes 🙂

Installed yesterday the update without any problems. Today as I was going to fly, the sim won´t open. When I start it, I see the normal black screen before the white Xbox screen. The round thing on right down corner does nothing and then sim closes down, or crash to desktop if you will call it that. I have removed all my addons and sceneries but still not working. Any help to to solve this?

Folks, anybody else using LOWI from ORBX? Just took of Rwy26 with the neo and short before v1 the neo hit quite a bump in the rwy, basically catapulting the neo into the air. Is it just me and my install?

Hey pilots, I am working on updating the lighting (taxi, landing, strobes, etc) for all the default planes. I've already completed the TBM930, the CJ4, and just now released the KingAir350 (you can now see the lights from inside the cockpit!) Hope you enjoy them, more to more to come! Uwajimaya

Theses camera views are driving me nuts. I'm in the controls page, under Camera there are a number of sub categories. The ones i'm interested are cockpit camera,external camera, instrument views. Is there a way to assign a joystick button to each of these categories, without going up to the menu bar with in the game?. For instance, i want to push a button, on my controller, to swithch from cockpit to instrument to external. I know you can assign buttons within each of those categories but not the categories themselves.

Clouds are grainy and looks terrible, what happend? They were fantastic till patch 4.... Please fix clouds and night lighting Asobo...

This is the error I get after doing a systems restore: "Microsoft Flight Simulator can’t open because it cannot be found. The storage device might be missing or disconnected." As best I can tell, all the files are there.. but I can no longer start the program. ARRRG.. The MS Store shows MSFS as installed, but the PLAY button leads me to this error message. Anyone have any ideas on what to do next?

In case you missed it, Update 6 is due out later today. My estimate is around 18:00 UTC. Lighting in mostly clear skies is on the schedule to be addressed in this update. No doubt there will be multiple other updates too. Looking at the Content Manager of the sim, there are a great many aircraft updates due to be released too. Whether they get added with this particular update, we will have to see. With the aircraft updates (assuming they happen today), expect your mods to break until the dev’s can re-connect the dots.

The Antonov AN-225 What is this? Hi, I have decided to undertake the production of an add-on plane for Microsoft flight simulator 2020 and i have chosen for it to be the Antonov AN-225. I am making this post as I am seeking to gather developers to actually help me produce this plane as this is a humongous undertaking. We will not be striving for study-level initially but detailed enough so that starting it from cold and dark is sufficiently satisfying. Who do i need? When the sim first came out, I was hitting 60 fps easy, with my settings on High (with clouds on Ultra). Then I added some liveries, and of course the FBW A320NX, and my frame rate started dropping. I currently have it locked at 45 fps, never have more than 5 liveries in community folder at any time, and I struggle to maintain the 45 fps, sometimes dropping into the low 30's and on occasion the high 20's (flying into busy airports at night). I have now noticed that my GPU is only being used on average 25%. With other games, I typically hit upper 90's even 100% on the GPU. Any insight as what could be happening? Any recommendations? If anybody considers upgrading a GPU for ultra wide display or triple display systems with nVidia surround, here are my results: CPU: i7-7700K 4.2 GHz (4 physical cores, 8 with hyper threading enebled, not so new) overclocked to 4.6 GHz RAM: 32 GB SSD 3 x 1920x1080 displays with nVidia surround with bezel correction resulting in 5900x1080 resolution few clouds, day, C172 steam gauges, final approach to EPPO (generic regional airport in non-photogrametry city) most settings on Ultra, some on high 1070Ti + ca. 10% overclock - ca. 25 FPS (GPU limited) 3070 + ca. 10% overclock - ca. 44 FPS (with a potential to set more settings to ultra and still havi…

Probably most of you know already, but there are online maps of where in the world lightning is really happening. Which I did not know, just learned. My system is an I7 10700 at 4.8ghz. 16GB 3200 ram. 2060 super with a 4K 28 inch monitor on a 1TB SSD. Running in 4K it looks great but I really have to lower settings to get decent performance. I still get stutters though if it drops just below 30fps. I'm using HDMI right now with a 30hz refresh rate. The performance monitor shows I'm limited by GPU. I understand that the RTX 3080 is great for 4K and am eagerly waiting for stock to replenish. If I drop resolution to 2650x1600 in game, I can crank up settings to ultra in it's smooth. The only thing is Anti aliasing doesn't work well at all even if I use TAA. (Jagged lines in cockpit and scenery ) I'm looking for advice …

Hello! Just got Special K to work with MSFS but it seems that it cuts off my lower Screen a bit and ingame the clickboxes of switches are shifted a little upwards. Anyone else got this or has a fix for this? Best regards, Tom

Anyone else having livery issues? I select say Air France, the aircraft remains as the default A320 skin both in the hanger view and in game, yet the ATC call out to the Air France A320

Loaded the game to run the update. It was stuck on the Mt. Fiji screen for 10 minutes and didnt seem like it was going to do anything, so I hit Alt+F4 and closed it. Rebooted my PC. Now the game wont load anything other than a black screen. The only way to close the black screen is Ctrl+Alt+Del. This happens in both Run As Administrator and regular mode. Update: game eventually loaded and update went smoothly. Just had to wait a really really long time for anything to happen. Also had to continuously retry the Xbox and no internet connection errors.
