Hi all, I have the 2016 version of Tropical Sim's SBGL, which was made for FSX (I think) but kind of works for P3Dv5. The only issue is autogen trees on the tarmac, which I don't seem to be able to remove with ADE. Searching around the internet I've found a few topics with people having issues with removing autogen trees in P3Dv5, but no solutions. Any idea what I should use if ADE doesn't work? Thanks, Daniel

Hi! I'm really interested in how you guys are handling your frame-rate-limit? 🤓 Unfortunately I'm not able to run my monitors on 30Hz and just use VSYNC, as I would guess this is the best option to handle the frame-rate-limit. So I've been using the internal limiter on 30fps for quite a long time and it was kind of ok. Then I switched to RTSS with the scanline sync option and internally unlimited, which felt a bit better. But it would be nice to see what works for most of you 😎 Cheers, Marc

I have a different problem to the server down issue. When I try and start ActiveSky I get message "Existing Session: There is already an existing session. Do you want to disconnect the other device?". Before doing anything I check Task Manager via Ctl-Alt-Del, and under 'Processes -> APPS I can see <ActiveSky P3D (3)> displayed. I then click on the 'EXisting Session' message above on <YES> to disconnect. This closes the ActiveSky <Start> message and also the entry in <Task Manager> If I now try and restart ActveSky I get the same "Existing Session" message all over again. I've been happily using PrD4.5 for years, with GSX and flying the Aerosoft Airbus and iFly 73NG. Then all of a sudden at the end of November 23 I started getting freezes in the bus. The 737 seemed OK but eventually I did a full uninstall and reinstall of everything and started again. I loaded up the airbus as the only addon and it seemed fine, flew from default airport, then from an addon airport. But as soon as I went from fullscreen to click on (eg) ACARS outside the Sim the bus froze (no sound, no mouseclicks worked but mousewheel did work so you could change the selected altitude but not pull or push the altitude select knob for example). Hi all. So I updated GSX via the live update, and had a problem immediately after. First my sim takes much longer to load (anywhere from 30seconds to 2 minutes) whereas before it was 20 seconds TOP. This is predominantly caused by the sim getting stuck at "loading terrain data" around 21%, and then around 40ish %. Also of note is that my computer fans go through the roof when trying to load that portion, though the GPU/CPU usage stays pretty consistent. The second issues is that when flying the program undergoes random freezes. They are very frequent (anywhere from once per few minutes to multiple times per minute) and they can either be a few seconds or as long…

Guys, can anyone help me setup P3D, I’ve bought the pmdg 747 but I just can’t use P3D v5.4. Im confused with the layout, controls and more. I’m used to MSFS but I felt that I wanna do study level long haul and wanted to this. But now, not being able to set this up and work it, I’ve wasted £170 ish. I am sure there is some knowledgeable person out there who has come across this before. Chase plane has worked for me for 3 years with only minor problems. Five days ago I started my P3Dv5.4 and loaded the PMDG 747along with all the usual (AS, STB,RC4, GMap) but the preset keys for views did not work. I have had this before and a restart of AS cures it. This time, nothing. I then noticed that the Red/Green indicator was red, meaning no connection, and 2 areas of the menu were greyed out. I had made no changes to my PC. I did all the usual: rebooted PC, restarted P3D, nothing fixed it. Eventually, I raised a ticket, and got prompt help. I did all the s…

Yesterday I installed P3DV5.4 on a new machine running Windows 11. After setting up my joystick and calibrating, none of my control surfaces work except the axis for the rudder. I tried another joystick, same issue. Any ideas? Bob G.

Hi I have had FSX SE installed on my high end pc for many years. It's getting buggy to the point where it's not enjoyable anymore. CTDs, stuttering, endless loading times. I've tried reinstalling, deleting big scenerry addons to free up space on my C drive, etc. I fly with a VA, but because of CTDs, cannot log my hours. So I'm thinking of P3D as an alternative. Thing is, there are so many versions, 3,4,5,6 that I'm not sure which one would work with my important addons, which are listed below, without which simming wouldn't be immersive and realistic. Hi, I'm slowly adding to a new installation of P3D5. Previously I used this airport frequently. Now I only see the default version. Scenery.cfg shows three items in this order : Terrain-Layerup-LFPG. I found an old thread where changing this order solved the problem, but not for me. That suggestion was : Layer up - LFPG - Terrain. I'm stumped! Regards, Jim

MK Studios released Lisbon in 2019. It’s a great representation of the airport. Last May the designation of Rwy 03/21 changed to 02/20. They announced on their Facebook page on 1 June 2022 an update would be coming for Lisbon. It’s now nearly 10 months on and still no update. I can change the AFCAD myself. What I cannot do is change runway and taxiway markings. Only the developer can do that. They are still selling this airport on SimMarket. It won’t have the correct runway designations. I am trying to lower the VRAM usage in P3Dv5.3.17 and this version cannot change. Currently, the specific way that I wish to do this is by causing the default/main P3D window to by default be small. I also will then lock this window to this size because other people will be using it that are not performance minded and may try to change the window size. I have found a minimum window size for some menus but no maximum window sizes. I have found a boolean to have the main screen open in full screen but not minimum screen. I have found sizes for many additional windows/menus in HTML code but not one for the main window or perhaps I missed it? Lastly, I have found the window l…

A few days ago a friend posted photos on his Facebook account of a flight around Snowdonia, North Wales. The colours looked fantastic as well as the view. My new computer is brilliant and EA certainly enhances the overall view. But one thing I cannot live with is the colour cast. I should add at this point I have a quality BenQ 4K monitor and use a Spyder to calibrate it so brightness, contrast and colour are all very accurate. But in P3D there is a bluish hue in all views which is apparent at all alltitudes and it's driving me mad. I bought EnvShade which has helped with cockpit brightness but doesn't seem to do anything for adjusting colours in the outside vie…

Hi, I've just completed a reinstall of P3D v5.4. In the turboprop aircraft I fly, I use the RXP GTN750 for navigation. I have three installed : Carenado PC12, Carenado B120, and Flysimware MU-2B. All three exhibit the same behaviour. On engaging Nav in the autopilot, they veer off course and settle on a reciprocal course. I came across an old thread in this forum where Stan found that pressing D solved his problem. I've tried pressing D before leaving the Gate, but It didn't help. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution? I asked in the RXP forum but got now replies. Regards, Jim

Under "redist\interface" I find different versions: - ESPv1 - FSX-RTM and JPN - FSX-SP1 and RUS - FSX-SP2-XPACK I ran the ones in FSX-SP2-XPACK and ESPv1, but I wonder if only ESPv1 should be used - to be more precise, for RealTurb Europe ?

Hi, When I am on AP and I might adjust some flight level, or even when on ILS glideslope, the plane, Project Magenta 737-800 will start to pitch up and down, then up and down and I have to turn of AP, level out, then engage AP again to hold altitude. Any ideas what might be causing this. I have SPAD next, project magenta, CPflight MCP unit, etc.

Hi all, Does anyone have a solution for really bright exterior lights (P3Dv5.4)? My most extreme example is the BBS A340, where basically all the exterior lights (navigation, landing lights) during daytime will light up the ground like crazy. Any assistance/suggested fixes are appreciated (I guess maybe tweaking some effects file could be a solution but I am not sure which one..). 🙂

Hello, I've run into an issue where I have no low/mid-level clouds, even when the METAR says there should be some. I do have higher level (cirrus) clouds. At first I thought this was an ASv4 issue, but then I tried using the Rex Sky Force weather engine and had the same issue. Even creating custom weather inside P3dv4 with no weather engine running results in no low/mid clouds. I've opened a ticket with Hifi and it's now with the development team, but after doing more experimenting I'm thinking the issue may be bigger than ASv4.
