The Prepar3d Forum

The Prepar3d Forum is a forum for Lockheed's Prepar3d simulation software. Quoting Lockheed Martin; "Prepar3D furthers the development of Microsoft® ESP while maintaining compatibility with Microsoft Flight Simulator X, allowing many thousands of add-ons to be used within Prepar3D."  This forum is for general user-to-user discussions.  Official support for this product can be obtained at Lockheed Martin.  Website - https://www.prepar3d.com/

Gents, From now we won't allow any more comment on the legal aspect of Prepar3D.Discussing here about the deal between Microsoft and Lockheed Martin without any basis is useless and sterile.Avsim is not a lawyer school and all those groundless speculations and comments are inappropriate and out of place here. Thanks to John Nicol, we have a fantastic opportunity to interfacing with LM developers, we shouldn't waste it because of legal stuff that isn't in our hands. Thanks for understanding.

If I change the season from autumn to winter the reload of the textures sometimes only happens if I move to a new airport. Otherwise the textures will stay without any change. Is this only an issue within my P3D or does any other see this behaviour? ThanksMichael

    Started by Guest Kosta,

I decided to remove P3D today from my system, or at least only install the basic program to perform tests if I like. Without my addons - not going to use them due to performance issues and also some incompatibilities. And since some addons cause P3D to crash when being closed, this is for me a no go for now. But a word of caution: I deinstalled P3D yesterday, and somehow it bugged my whole FSX installation. I wasn't able to run FSX correctly afterwards:- both aircraft, NGX and LVLD, that I attempted to copy, aren't working after being deleted from P3D- assembly-something error on start of FSX, apparently a .NET 3 problem, but I wasn't able to solve it at the point, now uni…

Has anyone else with a Saitek 3D joystick had problems trying to calibrate in Prepar3D? I'm finding no matter how much I decrease the Null Zone and increase the Throttle Sensitivity, I can only get around 75% throttle. I calibrate using FSUIPC in FSX so have no problems there. There doesn't look to be a FSUIPC version for v1.20 as yet.

Not really sure what to make of this yet. On first installing, performance was **** compared to FSX. I couldn't achieve more 20FPS anywhere. I then applied the usual cfg tweaks and things are a lot better. Locked at 30 and getting 30. So far I've only made a couple of short hops in the Moody. The aircraft graphics are good and the flight model and visuals are super smooth. I have renamed the exe file 'FSX.EXE' so assume the nVidia Inspector profile is active? I'm getting what I THINK is tearing though, some bluries and slight 'jerking' of ground scenery. My settings are not maxed and it's running at 2042. Anyone else get this?

Just a few seconds, but the first P3D home video is a reality. Let's hope there will be a just as vibrant video scene for P3D as it has been for FSX:

  7. Welcome to the AVSIM Unofficial Prepar3d Forum! Lockheed describes Prepare3d as; "Lockheed Martin Prepar3D® (pronounced “prepared”), an application based on Microsoft® ESP™, is a visual simulation platform that brings immersive games-based technology to training, experiential learning and decision and performance support for non-government, government and commercial organizations." Lockheed, of course, has its own customer support forums, and we thought we would add another outlet for those who own Prepar3d and those that are curious about the simulation. If enough interest is shown in Prepar3d here, we will create subforums much like those found for MSFX the other sims.…

Perhaps it is time to add a new forum to AVSIM that caters to those interested in Prepar3D. If so, maybe it should be similiar to the FS9 or the FSX ones, with the same type of rules. Otherwise, LM Prepar3D topics and discussions will spill over everywhere, like it has in FLIGHT. It makes sense (at least to me) to keep those people feeling at home here in AVSIM, instead of perhaps losing them to other forums. Afterall, this is a community of diverse, overlapping and competing flight sim differences, otherwise it would have disappeared long ago.
