Just a note about FPS and performance: been testing it a day now, I can say one thing:I uninstalled it for now and probably going to cancel the subscription in couple of days (I'm gonna try and contact the developers but not expecting much).Reasons being:FSUIPC problematic (crashes).FSForce doesn't work.Problem with controllers (there is a fix undergoing and a workaround).Shade not working (developer contacted)....So, I will try more, but the end of the line is:The FPS performance is basically the same. There might be a FPS more or less, but it's not like it's 50% faster. Or even 20%...Fluidity? For me the same thing as with FSX... not a bit more fluid.Water? Yeah sure, i…

I haven't had much time to post anything here since we brought this forum online and I thought I would stop by, kick the feet up for awhile and partake in this new community at AVSIM. Hope you don't mind...Despite the circumstances under which this forum came to be, I have to say that I am impressed with everyone that has participated here so far. The maturity and willingness to discuss things as adults flies in the face of the apparent reasons you are here in the first place. AVSIM bans folk, but the reason for that banning has to be pretty egregious or results from violation of ToS' multiple times. And that brings me to a little fact that I am sure you will find, well, …

Interesting idea to further enhance the peopleflow technology. Here is some perspective to think about.1. 3d people - does this help enhance airports? - generally most folks would agree that including static or 3d people provides life to an otherwise sterile apt. - recognize though that there often some sacrifices on "fps". I would suggest that the current control panel should at the very least there should be some ability to turn them on and off, which has been introduced.2. 3d moving people - does this help enhance airports? I think most would also agree that the introduction of moving people, similar to having birds, traffic and other moving features helps add life t…

I am finding myself mostly enjoying the plains in Orbx land. Orbx has really excelled in those areas, giving quite a natural look to how fields and plains "flow" :(. The textures in all seasons are superb.I am flying a lot over the plains extending south from Portland and those stretching east from Vancouver. The latter are especially nice for a quick flight.

I tried the current version of P3D and it was a huge disappointment. It ran worse then FSX. Now of course I have tweaked FSX manually to perform pretty well on my pc, but I am not going to pay 10 bucks a month (and let's not forget the extra dollars some devs want you to pay to use their stuff in P3D) for something that runs similar to FSX...Now I don't really understand why some people are moving to P3D already: does it perform so much better on their pc's...? It HAS to otherwise they wouldn't pay $ 10, - a month...! I will keep an eye on P3D and try version 2.0 but I am hearing that it won't be released soon. So until then I will stick to FSX.If you are using P3D now, w…

Hi,OK, I'm ready to take the next step. But for the life of me, I do not remember what gets installed first, Ultimate Terrain or Ground Environment X. If I remember correctly UT comes before GEX, anyone remember the order?.Man I hate getting old, my memory is not what it use to be. I think it was all the studying for my Extra Ham Radio License that put my brain into overload. Thanks

Stephen Wilcox, otherwise known as Spiritflyer, has graciously volunteered to moderate this forum. I have no doubt that this forum, if left to its own devices, would be a center of calm and reasoned dialog within the otherwise chaotic AVSIM forums. So, in the interest of supporting peace, mutual respect and brotherly love here, Stephen will gently nudge the conversation in those very rare instances when needed. :Big Grin:Congratulations Stephen! And thank you for volunteering!

Well after getting all my FSX Add-ons to work with Prepar3d, I took a quick test flight around my hometown (NYC). I have Aerosoft Manhattanx , Megascenery earth NY tiles, FSDT JFK, Imaginsim LGA and a Few freeware local airports sprinkled in for good measure. Normally this scenario brings my computer to its knees because of all the densely packed scenery with 3 major airports in close proximity to each other, all with lots of Ai aircraft. My computer holds up well, but in FSX I’ve never managed to get more than 18-19 FPS at LGA with settings up pretty high. In addition, when flying back to NYC from another area, I end up with somewhat blurry scenery, especially in a fast …

Hello, just a simple question:I used the one month free P3D option and want to uninstall it now.I've read from time to time, that FSX gets also destroyed when P3D will be uninstalled. Is this true, if yes, how to prevent this?Anybody any proofed experiences with unsinstalling P3D?I use FSX and P3D each on a separate HDD (both not system OS HDDs)many thanks!

And specifically, PMDG 747-400? I asking, cause right now I have a problem with PMDG 747-400 and Prepar3d version 1.2 described here: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=491 So, it would be great to know, whether it is my local problem, or someone else also having it.Thanks!

port over to P3D, why is ORBX charging so much per addon. If I may quote Umberto:"The good news is: we are not requiring an additional license for Prepar3D, if you already own a valid KLAX Serial Number from your past FSX purchase, you can use it to activate the Prepar3D version. If you run both FSX and Prepar3D on the same machine, and your KLAX was already activated under FSX, there will be no need to do anything: the Prepar3D version of the scenery will work as a fully registered version"Something is not right with there reasons for charging. trying to make a fast buck ? heaven help me should I post this in the Orbx forum.

No matter how much I try I cannot get my button allocations on my CH quadrant and my albeit temporary Logitech Extreme 3D to stick. I have to redo them at the beginning of every session as they revert to some unfathomable earlier settings.I have used Accept, Apply then Accept, exported the file to the standard XML in the Roaming/Controls Folder in both P3D and FSX. Yet each time it seems to read some other version, not even the original defaults. If this has been answered before, do not flame be, just gently point me to the solution. But I would greatly appreciate some assistance.

As the title said what will I gain compare to these vid. using Prepar3D?The first vid. is from KHQM in winter time, early morning, very cold day, I added a lot of FPS killer like bloom, full cloud coverage draw distance 110/176 km, heavy winds, lens flare +++, take off and landing was rough because of the wind, vomit bag needed. The other vid. is from the same airport, spring time same conditions but with less wind and warmer temp, taking off at night. So for you who tried Prepar3D I would like to know what I will gain by using it if you compare Prepar3D to the vid. I made.Nothing fancy as I used only fraps to record, no track IR and no editing,

A legitimate owner of Orbx products, denied support as is stated in their EULA I find I have to resort to other means to get support to which I am legally entitled. Can someone please look at this and advise me if this problem is part of PNW or something wrong with some aspect of my installation. All other nearby airports and airstrips appear properly, no sunken objects.Only some of the objects are below ground level, which is weird, unless I decompile the bgl's I don't know for sure why this is happening.I know there is an elevation adjustment file in the world scenery folder which is activated, ie not shown as OFF.Here are some screenshots of the problem. Help to ID a re…

Hey Guys,Can't those who have not installed their ORBX software legitimately (pirates) receive software product support in this section without being required to produce any sort of evidence of purchasing it? ORBX support of their products at their own website is state of the industry, but the only ones who can ask for and recieve direct help are those who can produce a purchase order number. That seems only right and fair to me, so won't this forum just circumvent that procedure? Isn't that an unintended consequence? Please pardon me if I am overestimating the sincerity of the ORBX stance because they have actually officially, or unofficially agreed to this forum. I'm ju…
