A simple test, using ORBX AU/Sydney cityscape and CLS Sydney YSSY to test the relative performance of FSX and Prepar3D.It's not scientific. Don't bombard me with explanations of why it's wrong!I just knocked it up this morning after buying P3D yesterday I have been using FS for years and it's a pain in the ar*e (although I love it like a cranky mistress)If you can, do your own. I will do more. If anyone can think of any good objective side by side tests, let me know. I have lots of FSDT sceneries, but am waiting for them to update their installers to recognise 1.3. I tried installing manually and entering lines into exe.xml and dll.xml but it crashed P3D as soon as Couatl…

Hi, has anybody tested in Prepar3D 1.3 the support for TrackIR via Ezca workaround?I downloaded the new version but I'm not sure I want to delete 1.2 and reinstall all stuff from scratch if I'm going to lose TrackIR.Regards,Stefano

As I learn a little more about Prepar3D I am thinking why bother signing on now since, while it appears to have some real improvements over FSX, it arguably isn't offering enough to warrant moving quite yet for me and other fairly dedicated simmers. I can say I don't really have much interest in dealing w/ its inevitable growing pains, but correct me if I'm wrong: it's heading in some very positive directions and very much appears to have a bright future. If this is the case, then why not just sit back see where things go w/ Version 3 and beyond, and when it's fully rock solid and adds bunches more than fully loaded/configured FSX does, then make the jump wholesale. …

Hi,is LM considering using his own physics models instead of tying the simulated aircraft to the underlaying MSFS flight dynamics code?If yes, then, are there already plans for a release? Will it be in 1.4 ?Thx in advance for any answer

If you can't enter the screen shot comp at Orbx there is that worthwhile one still happening over at the Milviz forum . Not sure when it closes and the prize is your choice of a model of theirs . I believe they have an older model 737 in the works and have a secret 4 military models in the pipe line too , not to mention the upcoming Baron. I have all of the models to date and each one stays in the hanger. Top shelf.Im not affiliated with Milviz in any way just a huge fan. The competition has been running for a couple of weeks -something like that, and it seems to me it needs more entries. Go for it !!Avatar inspired by the shade fad !!

After seeing the awesome visuals in Outerra, one has to hope someone can take this into a full fledged simulation platform. Is ESP a new graphics/sim engine? If not, what does it bring to FSX/P3D?

It is very apparent that the Microsoft Flight Simulation is now sold off to Lockheed Martin and now Microsoft is going in a very different direction....back in the 1990's there where a few other developers working on Flight Simulation. What is the future of Flight Simulation seeing as MS Flight is a big joke...I am going with FSX and Prepar3D for as long as that licence will let me

Hi there!New here - didn't realise that Orbx had an unofficial forum until today. Don't often call into the Avsim forums although I use to frequent the unofficial Carenado forum a bit. I seem to have lost my old Avsim log in so I have had to reregister. I own a few Orbx products including PNW and few of their airports that go with it. I dont have NZSI even though I'm a Kiwi. I am thinking of getting NZSI and will be breaking my self imposed rule that I wouldn't buy another Orbx product.Just a few questions and comments (yes I could ask them under some relevant threads but they would probably get a bit lost)1. Could of asked this over at the Orbx forum but my post pro…

This noob has a few thoughts on FTX Orbx AU Tasmania demo textures.Frame rate major ouch!FSX default scenery is major inaccurate and fake.Water to land edges rather sharp, goofy looking and not accurate?HD scenery causes major stuttering.Tree shadows very bad in Orbx.My ATI 6970 and cpu are now both being stressed out to 99% much of the time.I need a new computer. :sad:FSXOrbxFSXOrbx

This is the sort of post that wouldn't go amiss on this forum. Sorry Josh, had to do it as there is the 'Banned of Brothers' to consider. The interesting upshot of this post was that Holger intimated that a HUGE update for NRM is in the pipeline. Which I await with great anticipation.Oh, and you're spot on with the description of CYVK. If anyone hasn't been there yet, take a look.

Hi Guys,I sure hope LM fixes the problem when you open a new window while in full screen mode. When I press ctrl+F12 the screen goes black and all sounds stop for about two to three seconds, then the screen returns with the GSX menu. After I select a GSX menu item, I have to press anywhere on the screen to bring the flightsim back into focus.Seems its a problem that LM is aware of: http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=484

DUKE Piston B60 Cockpit sound package is now available.(PLEASE NOTE: this will not properly work in theTURBINE Duke)http://www.mediafire...wzc2msbwl7528azENJOYNOTE KEYPRESS RADIO / GPS SOUND LEVELS:--------------------------------------------------------------Ok 3 people have reported that the key press sounds volume on radio/gps/adf/expander might be a bit low as they cannot hear it when engines run at full revs.. Well I dont think you will hear it in real life either, but if you want to you can change the sound volumes of those that you want to be louder. It is especially the radio/GPS/ADF/EXPD key press sounds that seem to be a bit soft for some. With engines at idle a…

I know there is a screenshot forum but one rarely sees the improvements of vanilla vs addon. Hi everybody, I could not find any topic about that so far, sorry if it has already been discussed.I have been using P3D for some weeks and recently I started to fly online in Ivao with it, as I was used in FS9/FSX.Everything seems ok, I can see myself connected and I can interact with ATCs through IVAP, but I cannot see any Ivao traffic in the simulator, just the AI traffic (which I would not expect).SInce I spent most time in installing and testing add-ons and tuning performances, maybe I missed something about multisession capabilities or differences between FSX and P3D.I run IVAP on a networked notebook through WideFS, but the configuration seems ok to me.Could it has…

Before the general G3D.dll FSUIPC fix I often could not complete anything but the shortest of PNW flights, for no more than a half hour or so before getting hit with that error. Therefore FSX did not run long enough to have the OOM error. Now that there are no G3D.dll crashes most of my ORBX PNW flights end with a OOM after about an hour of flying over intense areas near Seattle. It happened again last night. I flew a Caranado 340 from Jefferson to Cushman Narrows, to Bowerman, to Wax Orchards, to Vashion Island and got almost to S43 when it ran out of memory. I don't think that it is something particularily wrong with my machine hardware or software. I can go for hours f…
