I did an OS up reinstall of my PC, kind of a spring cleaning, which I do yearly. I was in the process of reinstalling P3d and got stymied when I went to activate it, it told me I had reached my activation limit. I have the academic license(which apparently only allows one install), after a brief period of four-letter frustration, I sent an even-toned email to the activation email address at about 3am. Lo and behold at 7 am the next morning I had a pleasant and informative response email explaining to me that I had only the one license, and that P3D had detected that the computer was not the same as the PC I first installed P3d on(It was exactly the same....but th…

Hi all, I have earlier today released FSX support for Prepar3D - a compability tool to help you migrate to Prepar3D. As you may know, Flight Simulator X and Prepar3D are very similar, but few installers support Prepar3D and a lot of manual tweaking may be needed to port FSX products over to Prepar3D. Taking advantage of similarity, my tool creates a virtual FSX installation pointing to Prepar3D. Everything you install there will actually be installed into Prepar3D, while fooling installers into thinking that they are dealing with FSX. Given the fact that me and my testers got even airplanes as old and complex as Digital Aviation's Fokker 70 / 100 (development …

I ported over the NGX through your help and all is well. One observation I have made is: I fly IFR flights with the NGX and use the ILS approach. When ATC assigns me a landing runway, I input the Course and Nav1 assigned for that runway. What is happening to me is that once ATC tells me so...and..so on localiser, (I am below glideslope which is active) I press APR on the AP, and immediately the course goes up or down by two digits and I will not capture the ILS approach. The PMDG does not do this in FSX. I have tried turning off APR, then AP, reset Course, turn AP back on, then press APR, and immediately the Course changes. I went to the PMDG 737-NGX forums and…

  8. After giving the Orbx migrator a try this morning it worked well but ran into some issues which I can only blame on myself.. Others might run into some problems themselves if they did the following. 1. Installed Orbx addon airports directly into Prepar3D via registry fix tool. The migrator will link any addon airports you have installed into FSX.The migrator will have links in your Prepar3D FTX Central referencing the FSX versions. The migrator will enabled ObjectFlow etc for the airports. So if you also have addon airports installed into Prepar3D you can see how there is going to be a "conflict of interest" between the two. Best bet since there is a sure fire me…

Hi guys, Having searching around trying to figure out how to get AS2012 to install textures to my P3D installation instead of FSX. I did not find any specific reference to it, and since I have figured it out myself, I thought it might be worth posting it here. The trick is quite simple. There are three registry entries that tell AS2012 where the different folders are located. On my local installation these entries do not exist and I had to create them myself. So, simply relocate or create these entries in the correct registry folder and have it point to your p3d installation and p3d appdata folder. The description of the entries are given in the post below, and a…

After that, Orbx will be moving to a consistent price model without any discounts or sales on their online products, ever. Take this opportunity because it wont be coming around again. Dear Orbx, Thank you for your E-Mail. It warms the heart of my bottom. As a long time customer, let me take this opportunity to inform you that I will no longer be a long term customer, ever!! I am moving to a more consistent purchasing model, so i can no longer offer you my credit card details, ever!!! In closing, I hope your profits are not affected too much by my purcha…

I have just finished reinstalling all ORBX and now FTX Central will not open so I can not switch between default, Australia or North America. When I double click on it, it goes to the task bar but will not open. Any Ideas? Kind regards,

Hello all,I'm asking this here rather than in the official Orbx support forum because at this point I'm more interested in discussion with other users and seeing if this is unique to my situation than I am in asking for a support solution. Here's the situation:I have what seems to be a very stable and reliable FSX system running. I run UTX (US), GEX (NA), REX, all of the ORBX NA regions, plus Tongass X, and I use FSUIPC (registered) with the latest patches to catch the very occasional G3D.dll issues which would sometimes trip me up in and around Seattle. I can fly for hours in any of these areas, ORBX or elsewhere in NA, long flights, short flights and everything in b…

  18. Hello folks, With FSX I UT2 and from all I read, it's not compatible with P3D. It's a 2007 version so I do need to upgrade. I've read that My Traffic is ready for FSX and P3D - however, I've also read that the product absolutely kills frame rates, even with sliders set to 0 in P3D. Anyone have any experience using this product? Thanks and have a blessed one. cthiggin

I am in the process of a complete reinstallation of Windows on one of my SSDs, and FSX on my WD Black Caviar 640g, 64 cache mechanical drive. Unless I wanted to buy a new 240 SSD, that was about all I could do since I could not load most of my payware scenery since FSX had used 110g of the 120g available on my second SSD. A few months ago I had deleted all my Australian ORBX sceneries to make room, but going with the larger drive, I even bought and loaded additional Australian airports. Alice Springs has to be one of the most stunning payware sceneries on the globe. It is so real you can almost feel the sand in your teeth, and the blistering heat on your arms. I …

Not sure if it was solved already, but I've just made Shade to work with Prepar3D v1.3 by renaming prepar3d.exe to fsx.exe and moving all P3D files and folders to the registered FSX location. 1. My FSX was installed in \\H\Games\FSX and Shade worked fine with it. 2. Next step was to move FSX files to another loaction (backup) and install Prepar3D into FSX's folder (same path - \\H\Games\FSX). 3. Rename prepar3d.exe -> fsx.exe and you're good to go. Shade works as if it was original FSX.

I'm seriuosly considering Prepar3D but am somewhat confused on the integration of simconnect. I was reading the p3d forum on the issue but still questioning its usage as its very important in my sim network. Can it be used as in FSX for remotly communicating with programs such as ASE and FSCommander.? Brings up another point. What about FSUIPC and WideFS? Never mind on the WideFS, just checked Pete's website. excellent! Dang, gotta buy a liscence for it thats 3 liscences for FSUIPC or maybe not! Thank you Kindly

Hi there, This is just another thread of somebody who wants to Take Benefit of the orbx Sale. I flew at ther VfR Germany regions in the past an did mainly ga, island and airstrip hopping. Everything low and slow. Usually i imagine a story around my flights, like transporting urgent stuff or business men or something like that. Anyway now I want to explore some new regions and decided to get pnw and pacific fjords.
