Look like my account was restored, I can read the general forum now, is it just me or if other banned members can log in?

I've been dabbling semi-seriously with FSX for a few days and ran into the problem of Vsync not working properly on ATI/AMD video cards under Windows 7 x64. Meaning, according to several hours of research, that I can pick between massive screen-tearing with Vsync off or screen-flashing artifacts with the third-party software hacks to force Vsync on, if using FSX. Does Prepar3d correct this issue? Does Vsync work properly on Radeon graphics cards under Windows 7 x64?

Could someone please clarify this... Do you have free upgrades or do you need to buy every new version they release? Compared with FSX how stable is P3D? Are there the same CTD issues? Thanks in advance.

Hi Chas, We actually already backed the kickstarter for the Oculus shortly after it launched a few days ago. The Prepar3D development team is excited about potentially integrating Prepar3D with the Oculus when we receive our prototype development kit we purchased. Have a great weekend, The Prepar3D Team On August 3, 2012 at 12:56 PM Chas <[email protected]> wrote to the OR folks > I hope you have sent a GRATIS Dev kit to Lockheed Martin who have taken over the Microsoft Flight Sim X development with their superlative Prepar3d flight sim. > > See their site , with the understanding that these folks that developed the REAL F…

Today I flew the NGX in P3D from KSEA-CYVR with Orbix PNW, REX, Aiviasoft EFB, TrackIR, EZCA, and UT2. It was an amazing experience. While porting all these programs over, I have been very careful to backup my FSX install and keep it safe. I then flew from KATL-KTPA and after landing realized with real sadness that I don't need to go back to FSX. I wonder how may thousands of hours and dollars I invested in that simulation? It was time and money very well spent. http://en.wikipedia....light_Simulator Thanks again to MS, Aces Studio and all the companies that have kept the sim advancing. To use an Olympic analogy, someone has been passed the…

Hi, When flying around in P3D everything lookes more brillant, less blurry and colorfull then FSX. That is: in the distance. A closer look at the (global)ground textures shows something different! P3D is in close-up view more blurry than FSX. All my setting are the same in FSX and P3D. Sliders Max. and 'texture load 4096'. I am using FTX-Orbx sceneries via the 'Migrator 1.30' including the Aero-tool for the ground (course)texture overlay. Do I something wrong? Is their something to do about it? Or is P3D with de ground textures in close-up view the more inferior one? Thanks in advance, Noki

It’s be a while since I have piped up on the list but after seeing the Prepar3D website today and digging a bit in the forums I decided to respond to something RSR said in another post about the marketing of Prepar3D. It is stunning to me how Microsoft has mismanaged its Flight Simulation business. So badly that it is a wonder they are still in business. So now, it would seem, that MS is out of the flight simulation business altogether. One bright spot in their history, though, is ESP. I’m not up on the details, but I would assume that MS developed ESP and then use it to develop FSX or developed both at the same time. Whatever, it is probably the best thing MS ev…

Since I know the area well in real life ..here's some suggested flights (havent tried all of them myself yet but these should be worth exploring: 1. Explore Mt Egmont/Taranaki. Take off from Hawera (NZHA) and fly north via a scenic flight over Mt Egmont/Taranaki to New Plymouth (NZNP). Possible stop is Stratford (NZSD) (i grew up here). 2. Explore the King Country hill country. Take off from Te Kuiti (NZTU) and fly to Taumaranui (NZTM) and then onwards to Wanaganui (NZWU). Should have good views of the Mountains in the Volcanoic Plateau 3. Explore Coromandel and the resort towns and beaches...take off from Ardmore (NZAR the countrys biggest GA airport and home…

Someone who has actually migrated to P3D would create a spreadsheet listing all aircraft, sceneries and utilites and indicate if they are compatable, if they work with the migration tool from Sim-Market, tool from Developer or manually. I think that would give a lot of people more confidence in what is possible with P3D and it would be easier to find what you are looking for, especially if it was kept up to date in the Avsim library.

I had carefully added scenery items of Victoria and Vancouver, so the cities look great. Since installing Orbx Pacific NW, the entire cities have been deleted, including the ferries. It looks like an atomic wasteland. Is there any cure? I thought of moving Addon Scenery\scenery to a higher order on the list, but I'm not sure that this is wise. Any help? Thanks

I'm hesitant to post this because I agree with the concern, expressed by others, that this is turning into an ORBX-bashing forum. I'd rather not see that happen. However, I am interested - always have been, ever since the dispute started - in exploring different and possibly better ways for all of us to handle things. Let's call it a professional interest on my part. So, in that spirit, here's a quick example from another world I participate in: classical music. On Monday, the Metropolitan Opera, a major international organization based in New York, announced this. Then, on Tuesday, after a huge negative public reaction, they reversed themselves. Beyond…

I am considering Prepar3d, but haven't yet made my final decision. An important factor in my decision is that I no longer have FSX, nor the DVDs, so, buying Prepar3d would be a start from the base, if it was not for the following fsx add-ons I can still get from their home sites: - FSUIPC License for FSX - LevelD767 PIC - RealAir Siai Machetti - Aerosoft Katana - Aerosoft Twin Otter - Aerosoft Lukla - Aerosoft Heathrow - Aerosoft Diskus X - Flight1 Pilatus Pc12 - Wilco's Airbus Collection A319/20/21 - Landclass from VFR France for Portugal and Spain From the above add-ons, and given that I no longer have FSX installed, nor will I buy it back just to …

Hello, If I install FSX alongside with P3D, how will aerosoft scenery work, especially the ones that need to be activated through the aerosoft laucher? Can I simply copy the activated files from FSX into P3D and add them in the scenery library? Does anyone have a clear idea of how to make this work best? Thank you guys in advance, any suggestion is welcome!

Hello everybody, I m a new AVSIM member. I was reading a lot of your posts in the past, now I decided finally to be part of it. Going straight to the point I found a way to avoid installing EZDOK to use TrackIR under P3D. Maybe I'm coming a little bit late but if there are simmers out there needing this I can post a small instruction. Don't hit me if there is already something in this forum (I am very bad in search engines, especially forums one!).

hi, i just purchased the Pacific Fjords region and i love it already after my first exploration flight. it seems that a sectional chart would help alot to find my way around. the question is, which of the canadian VFR charts is needed to cover the area? do i need only one chart or more than one? i have not found out which chart covers which exact region. is anyone using real sectional to fly in the Pacific Fjords area? if so, which ones(s)? thanks!

Hope you enjoy this video I made of this magnificent scenery :) Unfortunately if you live in Germany the video is blocked because of copyright with the music. If that's your case you can watch the video here on Vimeo, where there aren't any copyright issues. https://vimeo.com/45778435 Thanks for looking!

I am about to launch into a heap of dabbles in order to get a new switch panel up and running. I think I am correct in saying that in FSX, the Standard file in User/.../.... is the one to modify/backup because another one in Program Files/...../FSX is used as the resource to re-recreate the former if there is a problem somewhere. I have messed successfully with P3D's user/....Standard file but can't find anything in Program Files/...../Prepar3d. Is there now only the one? Does not sound right if so!

Just bought the 530 and installed, but it doesn't seem to like my API, SIM1 and UTIL DLLs. (I have removed fsx and now only use Prepar3d). What is the workaround for this problem?

My system is high end and a few months old but I have managed to fill 8 gigs quickly with any free scenery that looked okay. Recently FSX started to get a bit buggy with some fatal crashes and scenery errors messages on loading. More importantly I wasn't using most of the airports or areas I had down loaded. (fsx flying now!) The new plan is to go global with GEX 1x mgp mesh , that way Im always getting richer scenery where ever I am and only have several add on pay ware airports used as major hubs. What add on scenery are you using and why did you choose (va route, hub etc) it or was it because it was free?
