Hi all I have a favour to ask of those who recently purchased the new NZNI scenery from Orbx. Would someone please be able to post a few screens of the areas in and around the Hawkes Bay region? In particular I'd love to see some shots of Napier, Taradale, Hasting and Meeanee (should be pretty quick to find them on Google Maps). I'm from that part of NZ and I am keen to see how much detail my home area has been modeled in (and I have blown by FSX budget for the month). Cheers! Edit: The local airport is NZNR.

Has anyone been able to use this tool for ORBX, or is the ORBX tool the best approach? I did not know if the FSX TO PREPAR3D MIGRATION TOOL had been updated as I remember reading that some had trouble with the ORBX scenery. I am not sure if there is any advantage as far as performance with having the ORBX files remain in the FSX directories versus a static install into the P3D environment. There is only one thing I wish to test with P3D and that is the micro stutters that were apparent in 1.3. This was the only holding pattern for me to move to P3D. I really don't care about the ORBX add-on airports just the default PNW install. Regards Bob

Hello, I just installed KPHX into Prepar3D and I get the following error: Addon Manager will not run. FSX with SP2 or Acceleration Pack is required! Let me guess, its not compatible with P3D version 1.4. I take it the addon manager needs to be updated. Anyone else get this error?.

I installed the free mesh for Australia provided by ORBX but for some reason this occurs across Australia. Any resolution would be great :D

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has this piece of software, Since Delta flies into MHTG I'd like to give this approach a workout. If you have this software, what do you think and do you have it working with P3D. or Do you prefer LatinVFR's version of the airport, even though its a couple of years older. Thanks

Looking through the website, I can't seem to get a ton of info, but here are my main questions/concerns: 1) 45 Airports? Wait... huh? "High-detail living world with 45 airports and 39 cities" Methinks it's a typo. 2) Is gauge animation smooth? 3) I see they're "certified AMD Eyefinity Gold"... traditionally (with FSX) people have recommended NVIDIA I think... any differences here regarding video vs. cpu? 4) Is there a list of 3rd party stuff that runs with it? One of my main add-ons to FSX has been the "suite" of RealityXP stuff, but from what I understand, once you use P3D you're professional and are charged accordingly. 5) Will Instant Scener…

I have the PNW folders and the FTX libs installed in the proper order - PNW numeric and FTXLIBS at the top. I see no buildings and only default trees. The KSEA airport buildings appear ok. I get an Orbx power plant and its real texture ok as well as Orbx landclass. Worked in 1.3 Windows7-64 8gb memory =============================================== Update: After loading my aircraft, and switching to a C152, All the expected "stuff" seems to be there. So I withdraw my report and will double my medication...

Hi, Well, the new install went rather quickly this time around, just copied and past most of my addon airports and manually edited P3D's scenery config, dll.xml and exe.xml files. The only problem is with FSDreamTeam, Cloud9 and FlightBeam, hope FSDT's P3D 1.4 update doesn't take long.

  12. Hi, They must be getting slamed, I had a heck of a time trying to log into their web site. Even though 1.4 is not listed in their downloads section yet.

  15. Hi guys, Im thinking about starting out with a fresh install of Prepar3d and no more FSX. Will my ORBX addons install right into P3D or will I need to use the migrator? I tried looking up the answer to this but Ive had no luck so far. Thanks!

  16. For anyone interested in NZNI I started to fly some sightseeing trips. This ones pretty self explanatory. Some nice sea textures where harbours, rivers etc. muddy the sea. Some may be a tads soft as my machine doesn't seem to load to the highest res when I change view too quickly. Continued in Part 2

Hi, I've installed the latest version of FSUIPC in order to run Radar Contact. This now works fine. I have a Saitek pro flight yoke which worked ok until FSUIPC was installed. Now, although the yoke is set to be controlled via F3D, not FSUIPC, the yoke will not work when the plane is on the ground, making taxiing impossible. Any ideas on how to solve this? Ideally a way of making FSUIPC ignore my controller and just doing what it does re RC4 Thanks, Paul BTW it works fine in the air, but can only take off using speed alone!

Any news about a possible development of a good weather engine for Prepar3d? Things like hail and ice in some types of cloud, a weather radar detecting water drops and turbulence, thermals and turbulence inside cumulus and cumulus nimbus, slippery icy or wet runways etc...That would be a great and awaited improvement. Thanks

Do you really have to turn off ftx when flying outside of the region? I have Northern rockies and now I want to get GEX to spruce up the scenery in northern Alberta, but is it really not advisable to cross between the two?

With a 3 screen o/s view and a 2nd(4th monitor) for panels, p3d is just too problematical in terms of time to load and time to organise views. I like the scenery improvements and ,generally, I think it runs smoother on my T Model Ford computer system. However, for a FS10.03 version I wish Lockeed had spent more time on performance issues rather than eye candy stuff, that can come later. And especially since this is a 'learning' system. Damn! I get so p-offed with it at times ..... well ..it's slowly losing me. Gee! Iv'e been simming since FS1 and it gives me no pleasure to sprook off like this but the p3d forum has gone dead with bugger-all feed back from …

Hi, I tried to find out which date the navigational database of Prepar3d is. I only found some answers in a Plan-G forum where people said it might have the same database as FSX. Anyone here knows which status the database has? It's annoying assigning runways from more recent AIRAC cycles because they changed from 16 to 17 in the meantime. Thanks and regards Marc

It seems Prepar3d is developing a weather radar: http://www.prepar3d.com/sdk/Core%20Utilities%20Kit/SimConnect%20SDK/SimConnect.htm Since a weather radar is a "no go" item, I think it shouldn't be underestimated. So, I don' knowt whether Prepar3d is being managed by a dedicated team and could become a future platform for PMDG... I wouldn't bother paying USS 200 for a realistic platform. What are your opinions? Thanks, Teo Halfen

I just happen to have a brand new computer with a fresh Windows 7 install so I'm taking the trouble to benchmark FSX Acceleration vs. P3D.I've set up an autopiloted 25 min. flight @ 1000 ft. in the default King Air 350 starting at on approach to KJFK RW 4R, circling KJFK, heading towards La Guardia, then Central Park, shaving roof off skyscrapers over MIdtown and Downtown, circle Statue of LIberty, back to Central Park, circle Central Park, then return to KJFK and circkel the KJFK terminals one more time. Each flight is done with a freshly booted Windows 7. The computer (2700K, 16GB RAM, Fast SSDs and NVidia GTX 580) runs everything up to date in terms of Windows and drive…
