Hello, I enjoy so much flying in ORBX coutry (!) it's just to great to immerse oneself in that special atmosphere they provide. Just one question: I haven't noted one instance of "night lighting on demand". That is the special request pilots do when returning to their home airfield at night by means of transmitting on a special frequency or using a whistle on the airfield frequency so that runway lighting comes up. Does nyone know ? Good idea to suggest ORBX ?

The thread title pretty much says it all. I have just spent over an hour and a half just trying to get logged into the Orbix forums. I finally work through all the password and "hidden message' data entries that they require, and finally manage to get logged in. The system recognized my user ID and password, and even welcomes me using my user ID, but then fails to grant me access to any thing other than the general 'welcome' topic that really isn't very welcoming. It then says that I am forbidden from starting any topics or visiting any of the support forum areas, but that I would be welcome to enter those areas if I would just set up a user account. What in the world is …

Hi every one. Since I seem to be an uninvited guest over at the official Orbix forums, I am hoping that someone here might be able to offer some advice. I recently installed Earth Simulations' Guernsey scenery. I read about the issues that this scenery may have with Orbix scenery, and as per the recommendations I had read, I deactivated North America prior to installing the new scenery using FTX Central. Now, I can start FSX just fine with North America deactivated, but when I reactivate North America, and try to start the program I get the message below, followed by a CTD. Reselecting FSX to default allows a normal start up with no issues. Does anyone have any sugg…

Hi guys, I bought P3D the other night and installed it, was quite impressed with the improved stock visuals and sharpness of textures. However on cleaning up my system in preparation of P3D the previous day I uninstalled a lot of things, some wouldn't uninstall correctly so I used various cleaner tools like Hijackthis and manually removing some entries from 'windows uninstall' section of the registry as they wouldnt delete from Add/Remove Programs. The short of it is I damaged my Windows 7 installation resulting in getting invalid key errors when installing other utilities, tried fixing to no avail. I was considering a complete format anyhow so this made up my mind…

Flying north of Prince Rupert I found that I have three weird polygons what appear to be the wrong landclass. Looks totally weird given I was flying in summer. The screen shot has the coordinates. Does anyone else have this same oddity? I posted over at Orbx but have not had any feedback yet. I'll I'm looking for is a quick check to see if this is a problem for my textures or if others have it as well.

Hey Guys, I just Install P3D and I am amazed on the graphics and land marks improvements over FSX. so the textures seems sharper. my only issue is how do I disable the P3D from loading onto the tarmac? now it's not a big of an issue, but once I install some sceneries it would take a long time to load just to reload it back to a different location (in away loading the airport twice). is there some kind of an GFC line I can add or something similar on disabling it?

At one time MS FS was the top selling game in computers. Wanna-be pilots were popping up globally. What changed? Not the introduction of a far wider variety of games. It was the jump in computer power required from FS10 to FSX. The consumer world was moving to laptops and FSX only catered to desktops with powerful processors and graphics cards. I bought it and installed it on the best of my two laptops, then went back to FS 2004 because it work well laptops and FSX didn't. The FS community is a combination of actual and virtual pilots. I have used it for years to keep my instrument skills up. I have used it as a training device for instrument students so th…

I've read the website, and a forum or two in which i thought i'd be informed of a few things, but have yet to really see why prepar3d is significant. Why should i buy it? i know there are some aesthetic improvements, but what other benefits does it have to offer? Improved physics? if so, how much better are they? i'm struggling to justify paying a $50 subscription fee for something that just makes the textures a little bit better. Thanks for any help! -Evan

Wasn't going to buy anymore Orbx products but just couldnt help myself... - Bit too green maybe but way better than the brown desert of FSX default. Yet to try other seasons...only Autumn so far - Defnitely too green in Central Otago (in Autumn anyway) - Pleasantly surprised with the framerates which are fantastic (although seems to tank a bit in Marlborough) - better than PNW somehow (can anbody verify this with both sceneries?) - Seems to be better detail than PNW - also pleasantly surprised with the Orbx default airports which are definitely better than PNW apart from one or two exceptions - Liking the trees, hedges, farm buildings & houses etc…

So having finally bought the PBY Catalina X in the recent PCAviator sale, I have been looking for ORBX seaports to fly her round. Problem is, all my Australian ones seem to be totally messed up. I have tried YCY1, YTS1, YBH1, YLZ1 and all of them do one of the following: 1) Deposit me landing gear down in the sea on a sort of underwater runway 6 inches below the surface, which has a centre line running off across the ocean. 2) Load me up into solid rock or a wooded hill on the coast. It doesn't seem to matter if I enable or disable ORBX Oz, the problem remains. I don't have any other add-on scenery for that region either, other than the freeware OR…

Hello! I believe that it would be an rxcellent idea for ORBX to complete a scenery for Everett/Paine Field and/or Bellingham International Airport. Both are in an area ORBX is familiar with, and both are important. Bellingham for its recent links to Hawaii and Everett for being the home base of Boeing, although both are small enough for ORBX to do. Anyone have agreements or suggestions? Thanks, DMac10121

Hi As running on Win7 x64 was staggered to see this error message! Not surprised in that for a bit of fun maxed out all the Scenery sliders as well as the autogen then, tried to go to Manhattan X for a bit of sightseeing. At least now I know what happens with that "dream" configuration! Task Manager quoted just over 3Gb of memory being used. Total physical memory is just 8Gb with a swap file of half that. Have always wanted an excuse to justify upgrading to 16Gb, is this it? Does anyone else's Prepar3D consumer over 3Gb or more??!! Does anyone find any benefit of running in 16Gb?

Hi, I'm wondering if the VC fps issue still exsite with prepar3d compared to FSX when moving the mouse using complex airplanes like NGX, Duke ...etc ? This is the worse issue in my system losing close to 7-10 FPS when the mouse is moved around the screen. Thanks. Evan Banalian.

I figured I'd put together a consolidated list of all the changes, additions etc made in Prepar3D since release, to current date (Version 1.3). I've seen quite a few potential buyers who seem unsure of exactly what is even different which tells me they don't know where to find good information about Prepar3D other than "It runs better and no blurries". It really doesn't do any justice to everything that is new or different in Prepar3D. Anything listed below is copy-pasted directly from Lockheed Martins release notes that are publicly available. The only thing that has changed is the formatting to consolidate everything into one long flowing change log. Other than for…

This might sound silly and would be easy to do if I wasn't banned from ORBX. But if theres still anyone here that isn't banned from ORBX could they post these links- http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/dap/MMLAP01-129.pdf http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/dap/BBNAP03-129.pdf http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/dap/BBNAP01-130.pdf http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/dap/BBNAP02-130.pdf http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/dap/BCSAP02-130.pdf http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/dap/BCSAP03-130.pdf http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/dap/SCBAP01-130.pdf http://www.airservicesaustr…
