Hello folks, Through this forum I've learned to install many add-on's such as PMDG 737NG / Citation / on and on and all work perfectly. I have been using an add-on called Cockpit Chatter which is voice activated commands while simming. I tried to install from the original installer and it will not allow me to place in the P3D folder. I have also manually taken folders and files from FSX and copied over to P3D, along with changing the programs .xml to read Prepar3d instead of .....\.......FSX, all to no avail. I have not done anything with the config files. Is there another workaround I could try? Thanks and have a blessed day. cthiggin

Hiya.. NRM is the only NA Region I don't own. I read mixed reviews (before the patch) of it but the overall impression I got I determined I might not like it. I basically don't want a repeat of CRM. While CRM is beautifully done it just isn't my cup of tea. :) I do fly it occasionally but it's not a "go to" region for me. I love PNW because of all the circuits you can run between nice well done GA airports and it is a nice grey area between completely rural and urban. I also do like Pacific Fjords it has a really nice inviting atmosphere to it with lots of cool seaplane bases and GA airports in nice towns. I hate big cities (read: Seattle) areas, but also don't want to fl…

Hello folks, I'm going to upgrade my monthly sub. to the Academic Version. L/M said that I would have to uninstall the monthly completely, and then install the Academic version. I'm ok with that - My question/s : Can I save my .xml files, sound/gauges/fonts folder from my existing version and paste in my new Academic version - WITHOUT having to start over. I don't have that many add-on's in ways of aircraft but do have the SBSL from FTX, which I can re-install? Your thoughts would be most appreciated. cthiggin

Is it just me or are the ORBX forums down? I was at a wedding last night and didn't get a chance to log on, so may have missed any news of an expected outage. Thanks Jack

Hi all, Does anyone have some good (typical regional operations) for the J41 in Orbx regions PNW, NRM and PFJ? Also, I'm going to pick up CRM before the sale ends so any ideas in that region would be good too. Good ideas appreciated! Thanks, Glenn

I've been taking a bit of a vacation from ORBX products for personal reasons related to the recent dramas. No need to elaborate about that. However, I'm considering purchasing Jefferson County since I've particularly enjoyed flying around Puget Sound and the straits. However, I'm concerned about how it performs. I've had challenges with Anacortes, which unlike many ORBX products really, really taxed my system. Now, in fairness, I haven't yet tried it with the Day/Night switcher and I could probably stand to turn down some of the settings in FTX Central. So I need to do that. But, topline - does Jefferson County have a similar impact, or is equally hard to run? FYI…

Whenever I install a OS the FIRST thing I do is disable desktop icons.. I hate them, always have and always will. It's just useless clutter and always a repeat of the same stuff put into your start menu (or so I thought) which is nicely organized. So I remember once reading about Orbx having an app to turn off lights at night, then I read the Lancair had three different flight models and then today after installing the Concrete update I never got around to downloading I saw a mention of "Airport Control Panel"... Yet... My start menu for Orbx has the same song and dance. FTX Central, Aero etc.. Something isn't adding up here.. All these little things I never actually sa…

Hi, Anyone know of a way to duplicate the colors used in P3D? I really like the pinkish tint. I thought about copying the Shader folder but decided I better not. I guess I could copy and save the one in FSX and copy it back if it did not work. There was a post in one of the forums where someone mentioned they duplicated or copied or recreated the colors, but cant find it now. Bob

I have installed the PMDG MD-11 aircraft into Prepar3D. I did this by fixing the FSX registry entry to point to P3D. It works very well, up to a point. So far, P3D has crashed 93 and 105 minutes into the flight (the first time with REX 2 connected, and the second time without). Has anyone else seen this behaviour and/or knows how to avoid this?

As you may know they are currently running a photo competition based on their NZSI package, with a reasonable prize. I found it very humorous to see they are having problems getting votes in. IMHO obscure rules where only the participants can vote (not for themselves), no one can cast comment, forum members including NZSI license holders have no say. Needless to say I and others did make a comment which stayed up for a few hours before deleted. BTW, I did not enter being the 'worlds worst photographer' even with a 'v' key. I say to JV:- If you can't get the entrants (about 30 of em) to show enough interest to vote why not open it up to all members. At least you wi…

Figured I'd give Prepar3D a second shot after going back to a Triple Monitor setup. Was curious how it handled it.. Not well at all. 5 minutes departing out of SeaTac with the Lancair Prepar3D CTD with a OMM error.. FSX handles all this without issue and flew from SeaTac to Concrete just dandy. Matter of fact I've never (touch wood) had a OMM error before with FSX so I'm rather surprised to see Prepar3D collapse so easily. I saw one person on the Prepar3D forum was having an issue with this also.. Anyone here getting OMM errors?

Hi guys, I am in the mood for a jet fighter, and one of the important criteria is that it should work both in FSX and p3d. Have tried to follow the IRIS vs Milviz thread over in the FSX forum but I want to search a bit broader since F-15 is not a must. I guess there are many opinions out there, and hopefully some first-hand knowledge as to compatibility. Take your best shot :-) kolaf

I would really appreciate someone to please check out the ILS for this airport for me. Unless I am setting up incorrectly I am getting an ILS that is left of centre. I can probably fix it but but want to be sure its not my setting up incorrectly.

Hi there, Wondering if, for both AU and NA, you could advise as to which are the 2 or 3 most demanding airports in terms of system resources and in terms of bringing a non-gaming pc to a relative standstill. Additionally, which AU airports do you enjoy visiting the most and why? If I were to get 2 (possssssibly 3 lol) airports for AU (small and/or large), which ones would you recommend & why (again, system limitations in mind- my system, although not an abacus lol, is not an a_s-ki_king gaming system, so you probably get the drift)? Thanks again folks- Rusty (I'm really looking forward to adding a couple of these to my lineup!)

Today I made it a point to exclusively fly Prepar3D and after a nice day of flying go use FSX and see what I think.. My thoughts.. I can't go back to FSX.. As an ATI user I've alway been delt a terrible hand when it comes to FSX.. Flashing clouds (fixable I know but wasn't a 100% cure all), performance robbing clouds, random hitching and glitchy textures. Then there is chasing blurries overall in FSX. I got FSX as good as I'm going to get it and while blurries have improved I can still watch them render to sharpness as they come closer. Some times it's good, some times not so good, and other times render to being sharp but a few hundred feet in front of me. Regardles…
