Hi all,If someone has used the default GPS that comes with Prepar3D, could you offer an opinion as whether they are better than FSX? The Garmin 500 and G1000 are basic and even wrong. I wonder whether Prepar3D, being an ESP base product is better.ThanksVu

Hey guys I have been very interrested in picking up P3D, and was wondering how much of an improvement in performance the 1.2 update gives. The website says the rendering engine has been optimized for the update. Thanks

Disclaimer: since i DON'T OWN prepar3d, this is a fully theoretical method. I could only test it with fs9, and it worked there. So, since there is more difference between fsx / fs9 than in fsx / p3d, i guess it will work. I repeat: i GUESS IT WILL WORK. But at least i'm sure it won't destroy anything It's pretty easy: it basically consists in modifying the Registry so that installers ''think'' that fsx is installed in the same path of p3d. Don't be scared because you have to modify the Registry, it's really easy. If it doesn't work it's fully revertible to the normal situation, with the registry pointing at the right path.Let's start. First you must uninstall the addons yo…

  5. Hi Been using P3D for a couple of days and find it to be extremely stable now that I have sorted user induced problems.Testing using ORBX NW p3d demo. Frame rates appear to see an increase of 5-10fps with everything maxed out.HIGHMEMFIX tweak only addition to P3D generated config file. No stutters or blurries. My computer Intel 2600K, 8gig memory, MSI Nvidia 460 graphics card. Asus o/c to 3.8. I decided to test PMDG 737NGX on P3D and subsequently ported everything PMDG from FSX to P3D.Everything works with no problems (controls, sound, lighting etc) except for: 1.Dome light, overhead front and rear panels and centre console are operational and are illuminated at night in …

  7. I've recently (within the last month) been looking at getting back into flight simulation. I've been holding on to my current computer (from the FS2004 era) and I'm finally going to bite the bullet and put together a nice new system. Wow, what a crazy time to get back into things. Since MS Flight doesn't sound like it's going to be my cup of tea, I'm torn between XP10 and now P3D. No intention of starting another debate about this sim vs. that sim, but I have more questions about P3D than answers. What default aircraft (if any) come with P3D? I could not, for the life of me, find a list after searching. I have read that FSX aircraft should be able to be imported rela…

Burkhard, developer of My Traffic X Professional 5.4 has released an equivalent native installation for Prepar3D called My Traffic 3D.This program will allow Artificial Intelligence aircraft to populate the Prepar3D environment using real world flight plans or custom designed ones by the user. Commercial, Cargo, and Military flight schedules are used to greatly enhance the user experience of the P3D environment.Since some coding in My Traffic X for FSX uses VS2007 and Prepar3D uses VS2010 and both can not exist in the same O.S., some rework was required of the program for it to function flawlessly within P3D. Over the past month work has been completed and tested and the …

Does anyone know if either of these can be made to work in P3D? I suppose I could get My traffic and go that route, but was just wondering what peope are using for Ai in Prepare3d. Im also hooked on Ezdok and would love to know if that works too.I tried P3d a while back, but shyed away from because there were too many things Id have to give up from FSX, but it seems some progress has been made since then.Rob

does it work? YES it does!!! How? 1COPY the exe.xml fromC:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSXtoC:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D 2OPEN the file you just copied and DELETE everything that doesn't belong to Saitek or UT2 and CHANGE path for UT2 toC:\Prepar3D\\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe</Path>If you have installed UJT2 to default. Thats because you have to MOVE some UT2 files (see 4 below) 3OPEN Prepar3D.cfg and add the following line to the list of SimObjectPaths (copied from fsx.cfg) SimObjectPaths.7=SimObjects\UT2 AircraftNB! CHECK that the numer is in the right order. I had 6 "paths" before so thats why i num…

Just to keep the Lockheed Martin Prepar3D community up to date on new support, I would like to pass on the following information.Umberto Colapicchioni of Fsdt has created custom dedicated installers for almost all of their add-airports. When the installers are downloaded and run, you will get a prompt if the installations is for Prepar3D or not. If so, it will install all content and features within Prepar3D with no need to copy or paste anything from FSX. If you select "No" to the question, the installer proceeds to install to FSX. The installations are completely seperate and have no influence on each other. There is no need to re-register the products if they have alre…

Hi Everyone, I just finished downloading P3D (10 hour download - WoW) and I have a question. I plan on wiping out my SSD and placing P3D on that drive and FSX on my 10,000rpm drive, do I have to install FSX and all my addons in order to port them over to P3D?. I know there are a few addons that will install directly into P3D, but is that because FSX is in the system registry? Thanks

I posted this over in the FS Panel and Gauges Forum but I guess it possibly merits a repost here. If anyone is developing gauges in C you will need my sd2gau package with the updated gauges.h file (currently called fsxgauges_sp2.h). As of the current release of the Prepar3D SDK the only difference between the original FSX file and the Prepar3D gauges.h file is the copyright notice at the top of the file; consequently it still contains all of the uncorrected Microsoft mistakes in it that have been there since FS2K2!!-Dai

  23. We are pleased to announce we are now supporting Prepar3D with our products, starting with the recently released Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX).We would like to hear your feedback about how the installation works for you so, we put a test version of the KLAX installer here:http://www.mediafire.com/?kxcdrr5842vai3wThe installer works in FSX and Prepar3D too. If Prepar3D is found in your system, you will be asked if you want to install KLAX there, otherwise it will install in FSX (if you have it installed). As with all our products, the installer is a Trial version of the scenery, and you can purchase it either from inside Prepar3D, or on our Web page. The good news…

Flight Simulator X was (is!) an amazing experience in 3D, except that runway lights and other effects were rendered at screen depth. This made landing, taxing, and taking off impossible in 3D - an unfortunate problem, seeing as otherwise the game worked great, and flying around in the virtual cockpit in 3D is one of the most amazing simulator experiences I've yet encountered. Has anyone tested Prepar3d using the nVidia 3D solution, or any of the other 3D drivers available, or is anyone aware of plans to update the troublesome lighting effects in Prepar3d to render at the proper depth? Seems like this would be a must-have for commercial simulation experiences. Not to me…

I really like the look of P3D with the PNW demo scenery! Is it my imagination, or does P3D add a slightly warmer color tone than FSX?Or... are the PNW textures different in the two PNW versions? I've attached comparison screenshots in the P3D Screenshots forum.
