I have a question regarding the Aerocaches of the day. Up to now, I've been missing a lot of Aerocaches so I've been collecting them in order of difficulty from easiest to hardest (whilst generally ignoring the Aerocache of the day). However, I've finally caught up so now I'm focusing on the one they have selected as the Aerocache of the day. I'm not sure, however, what it means that the Aerocache expires? What happens after it expires? Is there a certain benefit to getting before it expires? For example, I read some people looking for the South Kauai VOR Aerocache as today's Aerocache. I don't have this one yet but the Aerocache of the day it is showing me curren…

I'm not familiar in real life with the layout of Hawaii roads. Are the main roads accurately modeled/mapped in Flight?

- At the top right of this forum you see your name. - Click on your name to open a pulldown menu. - Click on Manage Ignore Prefs. - Click in the space underneath 'Add new user to my list' and start beginning to type the name of the person you would like to ignore completely. - When the right name comes up, click on it and enable the ticks before Posts, Signature and Messages. - Click on Save Changes. That's it. I can guarantee you this will improve your enjoyment of Flight and this Flight forum a LOT. I just added a few names of people who keep on polluting this Flight forum with useless crap to the list and I can tell you, it feels great. Awesom…

For those of you that will discount this as a rant; don't. It is not and it is very serious... There is a minority of folk who insist on coming in here and repeating themselves to the point of embarrassment. Their mantra? They don't like FLIGHT. They don't like what MS did. They don't like anyone LIKING FLIGHT. They don't like what they THINK MS is up to (whatever the hell that may be)... Many of them are old timers in this hobby who believe that they have the right to post their opinion anywhere, anytime, and on any subject they so choose, no matter the requests of us and their peers. You know what? Those folk have no respect for AVSIM. They have no respect for y…

Chino Planes of Fame is just five miles from my home. I love seeing these classic warbirds fly around near my home. I love the smell of aviation fuel, oil and hydraulic fluids. Call me weird but I just do. As a former KC-135 crew chief, I just can't get over the sight, sounds and smell of military aviation. It would be very cool to do this kind of flying, airshow style, in MS Flight. These planes have no working weapons, they are there to show the crowd, the pure joy and excitement of these classic warbirds. http://youtu.be/VP0aGXtD_KA For me MS Flight, with it's warbird add-ons, even cockpit-less, are fun and exciting. That's why I'm not going to complain ab…

Hi Not sure that this is the correct place to ask but I'm playing Flight using the mouse. I ordered a Thrustmaster T-Flight Stick X Flight Stick from Amazon. When it arrived it didn't work on my computer. I plugged it into 3 computers mine, running Windows 8, my wife's running Windows 7 and another computer running Windows 7 all 64 bit. It was detected i.e. "A device detected." but wouldn't show any place in control panel or in any game on all of the computers (no interface to adjust etc). I returned the it, now I'm looking for an option. I don't want to spend a lot of money but I'm will to go $50 or so. What would users recommend? Mike

I really enjoyed Flight when it first appeared, and was spending a lot of time with it compared to FSX. I really couldn't believe what I perceived to be a phenomenal potential for this sim.....I mean "game". The scenery, the smooth frames, and the Maule were wonderful previews of only good things to come. When the Zero came out sans cockpit, my dream of what Flight was going to evolve into started to dissipate. Now that the P-40 has come on the scene without visible controls, I am almost exclusively back to my favorite sim, FSX. I bought the Globemaster yesterday, and the Carenado Beechcraft 90 the day before. Even though Flight got me hooked initially by giving us th…

Beiing a guest on your beautiful Islands, I couldn't resist to publish my feelings to you. we apologize ... for the huge amount of planes that disturb your common rest since januar 24th we apologize ... for our bad behaviour as pilots. We fly incessantly across your cities, villages, airports, nature. By day and by night, at dawn or dusk. Even storm, lightning, mist or whatever cannot stop us. It must be a terrible infringement on your common rest. Sorry for that. we apologize ... stunting with our planes. Flying low over your houses, flying under bridges, even under building, kranes, whatever. Landing upon your roofs, your highways, streets, beaches, canals. It mu…

I was wondering if anyone had created flight profiles for the aircraft in Flight? For example, here are the flight profiles for the Mooney Bravo as provided in the "MSFSX for Pilots: Real World Training" book. I think it would be great if we could compile one of these for each aircraft. Does anyone have some of this info or are there people that are willing to help work them out? Thanks!

Not only do I like exploring from the air but it is also fun just poking around on the ground. I explore air fields and any installation that looks interesting, Since I learned to run I can cover a great distance on foot. I have lost my aircraft a few times and I have gotten stuck in some really strange places. I think we all know there are many different way of getting out of those situations. I find it more humorous then anything else. If I land at a airpot and see a lighthouse in the distances I just have to go investagate. I find the ground detail just amazing and don't expect everything to be perfect, it is after all, a make beleive and rather fascinating world we ar…

Hi I and a friend of mine have been trying to use the multiplayer function. If I send him an invite he gets a message saying that I'm inviting him. If he sends the message to me I get the invite... But then what? We don't see anything to click on to say yes we want to play. I can't find anyway to get his name to show in the users list under mine. We just don't know what to do next and there don't seem to be any instructions that I can find. We have tried setting it to "Just Friends", "Private" and "Public" but nothing seems to work. If I just click on "Join Session" I see a list of other people but not him. So what are we supposed to do? …

did i miss something?? I don't remember at the Flight launch any mention of Warbirds over Hawaii theme. In the run up to launch was there a blog or article mentioning that the DLC was themed.if that was the case why put the Maule or any of the other aircraft out there first.they are not part of the warbirds theme. now cynical as it may seem i reckon Ms has come up with this warbirds Theme because of all the complaints about these cockpitless warbirds. as for recreating the attack on pearl harbour ...I nearly fell out of my chair. I was shouting Dagga Dagga and making boom bang noises, alas i didn't shoot down anyone.silly me i forgot the guns don't work...... at least …

So I was just checking out the Flight website, and I noticed there was a new blog post today, titled "Warbirds in Hawaii" (https://news.microso...-in-hawaii.aspx). Here is the very first line: By them saying the P-40 is the penultimate release (I had to Google definition of penultimate to be sure: http://www.thefreedi...com/penultimate) it means it is the 2nd to last, which tells me there is one more planned. Either way, it's an interesting article and they kind of link together all the warbirds they've released so far. Here's to hoping after these we get some more planes with VCs.

Before Flight was released, I always thought the technical aspects or limitations of Flight would be it's possible downfall-- like having no jets, not including the world, atc, prices of DLC. To my surprise the graphics are very good and the game itself *would* have made a very capable platform for flight simulation. So now as I look at it, the biggest hinderance isn't the game itself, it is the producer and Microsoft that seem to be running it into the ground themselves with horrifying efficiency, terrible lack of communication and poor relations with the community. I mean, if you visit Microsofts Facebook or Youtube pages-- or even Steam, they are taking a bashi…

There a certainly many more and the list can possibly grow in the next months/years, so I hope, but the fact is that I have so far found a few very welcome innovations in FLIGHT's physics/graphics/sound/interface model. Surely most of you are already aware of it, but I can particularly appreciate details like: (Note: I am aware that some of these effects were indeed simulated/partially simulated by the best add-ons for FSX!!! but not on the default platform) - Drag/aerodynamic effects of oppening doors / canopies inflight, not to mention the sound effects - Drag/aerodynamic effects of assymetric retraction/extension of landing gear (very noticeable on the WW2 bi…

I bet this happened to all of us, getting stuck into a tree, an hangar or a building with no chance to have some sort of push back. Someone told me to use the map to drag the plane few hundred meters away.....an arguable solution..anyway in missions I assume this can't be done due to the impossibility to recall the map via the " m " key. Which kind of feeling have you experienced ? Which Flight moment most enjoyed you ? Let's share you best Flight moments here below and let's share your feeling on similar experiences, even the negative ones are admitted of course. Thx in advance

Hi, This may be more appropriate in the Hardware forum but it specifically regards Flight. I'm using Win7 64 professional and in the performance appraisal thingee my readings are from 7.2 to 7.7 except for my hard drive transfer rate which is 5.9. I've noticed with all graphic settings at Max, if I'm flying fast and low the terrain is at low resolution at times. It seems that this may be an artifact of the transfer rate. If so, it seems as though an SSD drive might be in order. I saw that today's "Giveaway of the Day" is Paragon Migrate which facilitates transfer of an OS on an old drive to an SSD. If anyone has any recommendations, suggestions or comments I wo…

Hi, I recall reading in a hint or some place that fuel could only be added at airports that have fueling capabilities. Is there some way to add fuel without getting out of free flight by hitting Escape? It seems like I can go to the Hangar and add fuel at any time. Jim F.

What I am posting here is based on something I posted elsewhere already, but I think it's an interesting topic to discuss seperately. Did Microsoft make a mistake when they decided to release te big island and the Stearman plus Icon for free? I think they did. I think a lot of the people, specially the simmers who don't like Flight, would have given it a more fair change if the free game had offered for instance Oahu and the Maule...! I am reading more and more posts from people (not only on this forum) who say things like 'the game has opened up for me after buying the Adventure pack and the Maule'. It's pretty obvious that the sim part of the game only opens u…
