Hi, Each time I would use the mouse to make an adjustment in the cockpit I would move the pointer to the edge of the screen to get it out of the way. I was aware that it would disappear shortly but why wait? Then, when I selected the map it would immediately begin scrolling. Well, duh! So now I have to get in the habit of either waiting for the pointer to disappear or moving it from the edge of the screen before selecting the map. Either that or just continuing to wildly grab at the mouse to stop the scrolling accompanied with appropriate expletives. Jim F.

Dear Flight Users, I have found a file called flight.cfg hidden in C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Flight. Does anybody know what these values mean and if modifying these values will do anything? I noticed parameters for A.I. including airplanes and road traffic. Any information could shine light on mysteries. Here is the contents [MAIN] Location=280,40,1320,846,\\.\DISPLAY1 User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter [DisplayConfiguration:0 - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670] Fullscreen=0 VerticalSync=1 Display.0=1600x900,0 [Display] ChangeTime=4.000000 TransitionTime=0.300000 ActiveWindowTitleTextColor=255,255,255 ActiveWindowTitleBackGroundColor=0,28…

I have now flown the longest job to date I have done in Flight. Carried three passengers, from PHKO to PHPA. I think the distance was around 246 nm. My total flight time for this job, came in around 1 hour and 40 minutes. My " no skip bonus" was 11,682 - not bad. I recently changed my weather theme from fair, to " low and threatening". I like that much better, has some wind but not so severe it throws the Maule around. Plus I seem to be able to touch down the Maule more gently with a decent headwind. Once I get to cruise, I can pretty much leave it for a few minutes and come back to it. I have to admit, kind of nice not having to worry about not responding to ATC and…

Just a quick question for anyone here using Flight in surround mode with Nvidia 301.24 Beta Drivers. I am able to active surround but am unable to use the 3 screen resolution in game, it keeps minimizing to desktop. Also I am now unable to see the in game chat window. Anyone else experiencing these issues with the 301.24 drivers / know a solution? I know I could just revert but am also playing Risen 2 which those drivers enable the SLI profile :) Thanks

I am just curious if there is anyone else like me who kept the beta version? Since I received all of the DLC before release, I just kept it as it was. Of course, none of my Live account stuff is being stored and I can't play any muliplayer stuff (didn't care to anyway), but I am still enjoying the full package as is. My history for challenges and missions is being stored on my PC, and they all function. So, that's a plus. But, I know I can never upgrade it or anything, or add more DLC, but decided to keep playing for now.

I've read the recent aerocache thread about the counts being off but coming back overtime. But I saw something different just now. To be honest... all I have been doing is the aerocache of the day while waiting for Alaska. Today, at about 2:15 EDT I started the game and went into the aerocache activity and I find that the Puu Kukui aerocache of the day shows as already collected. According to game, I got that one back on April 18th. I thought the old catch-up ones were after 11:00 PM and and the new ones were after 11:00 AM for my timezone. According to the Flight website there is supposed to be a "Mololii" aerocache of the day today. Did I miss something? This …

Pretty much as the title says. I know that most of us are waiting for the release of Alaska with varying degrees of eagerness, but what the heck is there to see/do actually, in Alaska? What are the highlights? What are the must-sees that MS will probably be concentrating on? Besides the fact that they sprung Sarah Palin on us, I pretty much have no clue about the place, especially in the context of interesting things for a flight sim. Any fsx Alaska flyers out there? Whats up?

Can someone help me with this question regarding the merge of "Career" folders? If I have a backup of my Career on a given FLIGHT install with the Activities, Arocaches(?), Missions I have played there, and then I merge it with the Career on another FLIGHT install where I have played different Missions/Activities and even Aerocaches. What will be the result when I start FLIGHT with the "merged" Career? 1) Will I have all of the Missions flown on both installs, as well as the Aerocaches, Activities, Points/Levels be there? 2) In the following list, what is saved localy on a given FLIGHT install, and what get's to the "cloud" in my GFWL account? - Missions - Activities…

I found Flight to be boring. It works but lacks so many refinements I have no reason to use it. Given the high probability it will slowly mature over the next one to two years will be interesting. FSX for now.

Hello. I have really enjoyed doing The Hawaii Gold Rush Challenges using the Icon-A5 in as many ways/paths as possible, think the paths I have chosen are worthwhile; although I’m sure there must be better "routes" and perhaps you have already found them. Anyway I’ve spent quite a lot of time and experienced countless crashes, so this are my best personal records and will give it a rest for now. Just got Fraps and want to share these videos with you. I hope you enjoy them. Note: All aircraft flight control assistances are disabled and graphics settings are high or max, except shadow which is set to med (settings shown on videos). I use a Logitech Attack 3 joy…

Me and a few people were doing multiplayer with the icon and 19kt winds so we picked the silliest things in the world to try to land on.First it was a garage roofThen the cruise shipThen a hotel roofThen.. One by one we all successfully "hovered" onto Hilo Tower. Silly? Absolutely.. Fun? Oh yeah.. Took a ton of stick work to and throttle jockeying. I haven't had this much fun flying in ages.

Hilo... I love flying under all three bridges downstream of Rainbow Falls. NOTE: Set scenery density to [Low] or the trees will ruin your day. Then there's the two awnings behind the terminal... takes a steady hand to get under them without touching the ground.

I was just at an fsx related website this morning: A vendor known for their many super-high quality products for fsx, and I was looking for something to catch my eye. Then I bumped into a scenario that has troubled me before and is still quite a mess in the fsx community: Installation and updates. Did I have the latest patch? Where could I check? Was my version of the software up to date? If so, did I need this patch? If I buy new software product, are all the patches already included, or should I return to the site to download? Also, some software versions require one patch, and later iterations require a completely different one. If you are you running version X…

Upon noticing that my GFWL "aerocache of the day" count had decreased by 17 today, I posted this on the Steam forum as a reply to a thread entitled "More aerocache of the day bugs ?" This was my first Steam post ever. quote: I also had my "aerocache of the day" count drop by 17 aerocaches from 45 of 50 to 23 of 50 as this count relates to the GFWL pentacontacache award. I think this new count of 23 of 50 correctly reflects the individual aereocaches that I have scored and correctly deletes the duplicate aerocaches that I previously have scored. Can I get a witness from any MS Flight dev that may read this thread? By the way, thanks for the wonderful game…

I deleted/uninstalled much of my simulation stuff, only two sims remaining on my new rig... I am really running short of time to use simulators, and space due to my new PC being used also for professional projects, so, I had to make a decision... What will stay, what will go? - FLIGHT and ELITE stayed :-) - Xplane10 will also have it's place for a few tests now that the dev team is working on some important (in my perspective) aspects... I am saving space for what I believe may be necessary for ALASKA :-) Also, searching now for good Enroute LOW/HIGH level charts, more up-2-date than my 1988 copies, and in sync with the navaids database of Hawaii, and hopeful…

... smashing the Mustang! :LMAO: There, I'm sure a lot of people would like to do that. And probably some of them will come into this thread trying to spoil my fun. So just to let you know, all the fun spoilers are on my Ignore list - I never see anything you write! :Loser: Anyway, I did break the sound barrier, got the Mach 1 Award, the Achievement, and the jubilation of living through it and not having the wings torn off when I pulled out of the dive. :LMAO: But, people are never happy, and I'm no different. This was my record: 734 kts. Not bad, but I've become obsessed with beating it, particularly since I read some comments here of others who d…

I hope do not offend anyone but... I'm a bit disagree with who doesn't want see negative post about flight. This is a section discussing about flight. Not a section discussing positive things in flight. Deny negative posts sounds like open a section in an hardware forum about a motherboard and ask people to post only positives things and no the defects. I love flight, but my personal thought is that the people should be free to share their thoughts, while keeping respect and good manners. The forum is a public place where all can speak, this is the idea. Let them write what they want, I'm sure there is someone in the world looking for a negative post, they also need to …

I did a search and could not find an answer, two things I would like to get help with. 1. when I press backspace in cockpit view it always resets my zoom, is there any way to make it default to 1.0 zoom level so I dont have to keep zooming in after pressing backspace to reset? 2. I have to hold down the right mouse key to pan around the cockpit with the mouse, in fsx you could press shift+o and it would lock the mouse pan so you could use the mouse to pan at any time. Is there a way to set that up in Flight? Ideally I would like a toggle key like "shift" mouse pan on, "shift" mouse pan off. I have this in FSX and it's good for me because I use a trackpad for my…

-1st view (The most common view) The Flight team composes mostly of warbird junkies sitting around thinking up ways to ruin us simmers' lives. They put all their efforts into making warbirds without cockpits. Then in some dark, back closet lies our heroes, the two team members working on Alaska and a beautifully modeled VC-enabled bush plane. -2nd view (The less common on) Most of the flight team puts their efforts into making Alaska and the future scenery areas, along with good, VC-enabled planes. Then, in some back, dark room lies the villains, cooking up a witches brew of cockpitless war birds....making the dough and squeezing out the monthly plane while Alaska is.…
