Are we allowed to have a contrary opinion. I fear that we are not. To this point the reception is far too sticky sweet. I and three others who are long time flight simmers do not hold the same opinion toward the new product, not ever remotely so.So what are the ground rules?

Okay,I spent 45 minutes with it (Vans, Stearman, ICON)...In a nutshell, Flight has enjoyed two transformative medical procedures:1) Plastic surgery - looks greatThe aesthetics are wonderful and I really get it that people are wowed by this.2) Lobotomy - feels dumbNearly everything that I heralded as captivating and progressive is gone - no real weather, no air traffic, a very reduced set of options, a very reduced world, an arcade look and feel, challenges that are not, no slew, no starting at parking, no ATC, no helicopters, etc. etc. NO SDK...I certainly see the potential to get casual folks interested, but this reminds me of the introductory flight that is often promot…

Microsoft's new drug has me addicted, lol. It reminds me of "Take on Helicopters" with it's campaign mode and the Achievements and Unlockable Trophies are also awesome. The graphics and planes look gorgeous and i can't wait for the DLC DRUG add-ons, lol i mean scenery/aircraft packs. There is a setting in the menus that lists Jetliners and other World Scenery Packs(coming soon), this game will be huge like FSX but i think it will cost thousands :LMAO:

  4. Hi all,I stumbled across the "early" release of Flight. Glad I did.On my i7/Nvidia GTX 570 system it is silky smooth and fluid.I didn't have my joystick setup, so I flew with the mouse, which was responsive and just fine for the initial orientation flights. Can't wait to fly with full joystick setup--the Icon is lots of fun.Overall, this will be a great "getaway" from the big iron in FSX, or the IMC in XP-10", and will be a super fun VFR platform for the Stearman and Vans. At least that's how I'll enjoy it.If other scenery areas come online soon and are interesting, I think Flight will have a bright future...it IS fun and relaxing--and is so smooth and fluid that it wi…

So release is here and gone and yet I find myself still highly mad at Microsoft for turning their backs on us loyal flight sim followers. Yes I tried and it an uninstalled it, just like the beta after an hour of play. I feel no better - post release than I did pre release and I think it's post worthy for me to come here and say that the path Micrososft choose with this is unforgivable and highly disappointing in my view. This was an avoidable situation on behalf of Micrososft who should have come out early with full disclosure to loyal fans that this was not a simulator, instead they kept silent while rumors and expectations of the next flight "simulator" was on all our …
