I was flying a cargo mission, and ran into very bad weather. HIgh winds, buffeting, wind shear. So, I'm wondering, should I have turned back? (only 5nm from touchdown)I could hear the cargo sliding around in the back of the plane, and it wascausing havoc with my control.I got interrupted by life, so maybe I'll try the mission again, and turn back.Or maybe the weather will be nice.I don't remember setting weather conditions before take off.Anyway it was exciting.(WOW! 1 post..lol..I've been gone a Looong time) RB

Why not build a flight sim where theres no actual sim involved, and you can't go anyplace.

Hi All I installed Microsoft Flight this morning and to make a long story short.......I personally just don't care for it........even though it ran perfectly. I might add that I'm using XP Home with a 3.2 gb Pentium 4, a GT-240 card with 1GB of DDR-5 and 3gb of RAM. FSX and FS-9 run (and always have) perfectly as well....so obviously you really don't need a high end machine. So much for that. I went to try my Microsoft Updates and it kept looking and looking but NEVER stopped to tell me that there were no updates like it always does. THIS was a RED FLAG as far as I was concerned so I removed MS Flight and all is normal now. Maybe I'm just spoiled with the other sims (FSX…

...Thread title says it all, having read the Flight forums for a while and watched almost every thread take a downward spiral, my two pennys, if it means anything is well it has potential, can see the FSX roads in there but im saying give it a chance, Im so happy to hear my GPU whirring and not totally silent (FSX) so they got somethings right at least?. Only thing I dislike in no realtime weather but hey its free!!!! Your thoughts please people?

Is there a free flight mode in Flight?When I select to fly, I am put in a mission to fly around hot air balloons, which I fail, because I don't want to fly around balloons. Is there a way to just fly around, without any mission?Not impressed with the graphics so far, looks like FSX to me with small improvements here and there (e.g. water). I expected something much more stunning. Clouds are especially bad.

Also having some tools we could use to work on the plane would be nice i think .

I was on the beta from the beginning. At the onset, other beta testers attacked me for suggesting the typical disclaimer about epilepsy and said I had "brain damage" or was suffering from a "mental disease" and this person wanted to know "where is the moderator when we need one?" Hi,When I was just flying the Icon and the Steerman the control was just about ok, but now I'm using the RV-6 the controls are way too sensitive it's almost impossible to fly smoothly! Is there any way to reduce sensitivity like in FSX? I have an old Saitek Evo Wireless joystick. I found in the profiler you can adjust deadzones, but not sensitivity.

I started playing Flight and noticed that after a couple of minutes my fans in my cpu and video card were working overtime. I checked NVidia Inspector and the video card temperature was 72 degrees C.On Flight everything is set to High.My machine is brand new; windows 7 i7 2600. NVidia GTX 560 Ti.I run FSX with all sliders maxed out and the temperature stays about 50 Degrees C even after an hour of flying.

If you are going to understand the reality and future of Flight, you have to look at the money. Here are the facts:Three years ago I bought FSX SP2 at Fry's for about $25.00 US. Microsoft probably received $15 of the 25. Hi, I am liking Flight so far, despite my doubts when it was announced, I must kinda say, "wow"... flying the Stearman seems realistic, I overboosted the engine, got smoke and a flameout....however, my performance was lagging until I TURNED OFF THE VSYNC button....I was running on the low side of graphics, and POW ... way better now, cranking up options, thus my inital review is "kinda wow!" moving trees in wind... woohoomist blowing, smoke and sounds... wow!this serious NGX flyer on FSX may just enjoy this a tad.... hmmmmmm

Being a hardcore Flight Sim Gamer from early on with Microsoft I have waited eagerly for MS Flight. I must say it is time to relegate what we called flight simming to the past. I downloaded and tried MS Flight and to be fair it is a decent Video Game but it is no longer even close to a Flight Sim in my opinion. So I uninstalled it. We are in 2012, Microsoft is one of the largest software companys in the world and have a lot of years experience in flight sims. When they dropped FS series and anounce Flight I was excited, really. FSX is big and good, but frankly, it looked oudated from release, almost the same that FS9. I understood that they needed to start from scratch and rewritte the full sim, that was necessary. Ok, got it (no DLC yet). These are the first things that came to mind, in chronological order.- Awesome performance!!! Yes! Finally!!! This alone makes me almost want to uninstall FSX right away if it wasn't for the PMDG 737NGX. Wow!- Shoot... can I get used to no Track IR...?- Wow, autogen as far as the eye can see!- Look at those shadows on the ground! Here are two no sound videos I made of the beta no planes!They is no sound as I made them using time delay.I have one that I have recoreded for 7 hours & have speeded it up to 6 mins of footage.Both can be viewed in 1080HDBoth water & clouds have been updated now in the release. I see that in the release the buildings now have more detail. The random pixals are thanks to youtube.

There is no any violent scean.Also this game is not addictive.I have played video games since 1990, they corrupted my humanity.Now I can't get any feeling with seeing zombies or dead body, murder sceans.I am being purified with this game. The music of this game is very bright.Hawaii. The sublime scene seemed to purify my spirit.Missions are gentle. Not too easy, Not too hard.It is just good.(Sorry My English)

I have an i7-920 @ 2.87 ghz with GF265 video card. Flight seems to stutter once in a while during the initial video while trying the very first mission. I believe the hard drive is running causing the stutters as I can hear it and the light lags a bit behind the HD noise. It is a 1TB SATA drive. I have done a defrag, maybe a month ago. Any other hints?

Well I tried, some aspects looked nice, not for me though, I crashed into someone in multipayer and got an award "crashtastic" or something like that. Anyways that pretty sums everything up for me.

Anyone knows how to change the language in the menus and everything else please?I guess the installer detected my OS was originally in spanish (changed it later to english myself) and decided to install Flight in spanish. I'd prefer it in english and to be honest, some translations are ridiculous...P-17 Stearman "de lujo". LOLI didn't see any option in the online installer. By the way, does it get stored anywhere or do I need to download it again if I want to reinstall?

Ok downloaded it and it runs good but what will the future be. Will there be ATC support such as VATSIM or online, will there be new sections of the world periodically, will there be the ability to get real weather, will third party vendors be supports, flight planners, etc, or is this it, the features that the free download has?
