  1. I have purchased and installed the expansion pack for Microsoft Flight, but if I go into Aerocaches it has the lock located in the top right hand corner. I know that the expansion installed because I can manually select to fly from an airport on the other islands, as well I have the new plane. Can anyone please tell me if I have to do something to get the Aerocaches unlocked so it will take me to the closest airport? Thanks for all your replies ahead of time.

Ok I haven't been home to download and try Flight yet. I probably won't be home for another week, but I was wondering if they made any improvements to the clouds. Are they the same as FSX or are they really volumetric. I know the fog is much better. Also do VORs work and what about ILS? Can you communicate with other pilots via voice or text? Are the oceans wavs still flat? Can you fly through a cloud and have it NOT disappear behind you. Are there seasonal changes?(I know it's Hawaii) I'm just really enjoying how people are all of a sudden very positive about Flight. I hope it will become what we all have wanted for so long.

  3. Flight is a very nice looking and to some extent a well thought out "free" game. But someone had to pay to get it built, and people / resources cost money. Programmers do not come cheap. Life today is very expensive. To give something away free that is expensive, re-coop that loss, then make a profit with a niche and fickle market of flight sims seems risky. What does a large project like that cost? Several years of work, free! What say you? I hope they make a profit for further development. Be great to see it become very successful.

Flight was already working quite well for me, albeit one or small stutters here and there.Then...I changed my nVidia Inspector profile to lock frames at 30 like the FSX profile in order to match it up with my monitor's refresh rate. Now Flight is just PERFECT. Smooth as silk when locked at 30 with not a single stutter anywhereI really think this program has HUUUUGE potential

It''s funny. After giving MS Flight a first try, my overall feeling was that of a slight disappointment... Let's call it 1.The next day I got a bit more excited and after putting aside some problems I had which a few choices MS made, I started to like the game more and more. Let's call it 2.Now today... I am as excited as a little kid who has been given one minute of free shopping in a toy store. I can't wait to get MS Flight started when I get home! Now I could call this 3, but if feels like 4... And I already have the feeling that tomorrow, if not tonight, that will be an 8...!In short: it seems my enthusiasm for MS Flight doens't gradually go up: it doubles everytime! …

Hey everyone, I've lurked this site for years and finally was forced to make this account to ask this question.I feel like I'm not seeing all the jobs and/or missions but am not sure if I need to buy the DLC to see them or what. The only jobs I am able to do are the $100 hamburger ones from each airport and the sightseeing ones. All the cargo and medical and other missions show that you need one of the DLC aircraft to fly them. Also, under missions, I only see 4 and they've all been completed. Is that all there is?I am level 10 by the way. Do i need to level up more? Thanks guys

  8. Two questions, completely unrelated:#1 - I can do Aerocache, Missions, and Challenges but can't seem to find where to do jobs - like the $100 burger that's been referenced. Have I just not unlocked it yet?#2 - In the landing challenges, one thing that is measured is "Side Skid" - what is that talking about?TY

I had a good try of FLIGHT yesterday evening. Some things I like and some I really dislike. I will try to concentrate on what have not been said hundred of times yet on the forum ....3 screens surround view is my biggest issue for now. the fisheye effect on the 2 side screens completely void the immersion factor for me. The cockpit front and side window are just cut in the middle of the screen and looking left show you the frame of the airplane also cut. Turning with a fisheye effect also is not really pleasant and unrealistic. Anybody found a way to adjust view in Surround for more realistic experience?I really loved the sound of the wind. But the nicest touch was the so…

One thing I like most in Flight is that pop up windows used for interactive checklists and few other things. Unfortunately, checklists are the only thing that is available for now, but in introduction mission they showed us that pop up windows can be used for training. They made just one instruction, with PAPI lights, but with proper SDK (too bad they will never give us one) someone can make proper training missions with nice explanations of many things in many topics.

Spent about an hour yesterday exploring Flight. I like a lot of things and miss some things. Doing one of the landing challenges I did a sideslip which for ones actually felt lifelike. Better sound effects perhaps? I fly a light taildragger IRL and the increase in wind noise is considerable when sideslipping.Anyway, I did one mission, I think it was called "100$ Hamburger" where you take one passenger from one airport to another. I did this in the Icon and had huge problems getting off the ground and into the air.I used the checklist system (one of the things I like) so trim was set for takeoff. I assume that weather/temperature and such in a scripted mission should be se…

  14. I am currently having problems installing Microsoft Flight. I install the program, and the intro screen pops up, than I go into full screen and all I get is a black screen and everything is frozen. Ctrl-alt delete, windows key, alt tab, nothing works, and I have to do reset.I have installed this program successfully on a laptop of mine, but as you can imagine, the graphics are all low. The problem arises when I try installing on my desktop. I get these two error codes during installation, windows has a problem with Visual C++ 2008, 2010 vcredit x86.exe. I have reinstalled both of these programs and have tried multiple installs of Microsoft flight to no avail. Any help wit…

Maybe this is old news but I found out that when you cycle views with F7 you get an undocumented 'cinematic view' which is an unobstructed view with no VC or plane or nothing. I remember someone asking about such a view, well, here is it. However, you'll see no gauges... It's a nice panoramic view though. And you still have the HUD of course. When in the VC you can use Shift-F7 to get to the cinematic view at once, without having to cycle through them all. There is no way to assign a key to this view because it's not available on the key setup screen.

Firstly I would like to say thank you for the efforts of the guys and gals who worked on this piece of software. Although not specifically my cup of tea it has brought a smile on my face today which is something fsx has not done in years (literally). I have been flying sims for years and like to do things properly (PMDG, Vatsim etc.) but decided to try out Flight today and I must say was pleasantly surprised with some aspects. For the first time in a while I was just aimlessly flying around on my own enjoying the scenery and the aircraft but ultimately I was having fun without trying to be so serious. I had earlier clicked on multi player to see how this was done but had …

AVSIM is an organization for flight simmers. With Flight MS abandonded that market. So, why hasn't AVSIM abandoned MS?Flight is a dumb arcade game.

Hi all,I must say, that when FLIGHT came out, I was, like many of you I'm sure, prepared to fly it for ten minutes and then uninstall it but I must say that despite some frustrating limitations, I rather like it... I'm the procedural airliner type usually (I loved reading through the MD-11's system's manual and learning things like how and why the NRMPs work/are present), although have grown to love the A2A B-17 and Spitfire as well as the VRS F/A-18E too; now I doubt (but don't rule out the possibility) that FLIGHT will ever do anything like this (but being a highly modified FSX I know it is capable of it), however it does the whole GA experience which I have grown to lo…

I think it was pretty clear, when I started with the beta, what Flight was and what it wasn't. From the postings here and on the beta message board it's also obvious what a lot of people expected. I like many others was waiting to see what the next generation would bring. While I'm disappointed that it's not FS11, for what it is, it's not too bad. I've been simming since 1989 with either FS3 or 4, I forget. So I have little bit of history here. I remember buying the Airport and Scenery designer just to make my home field a little more than the colored squares that I got out of the box. Scenery wise this is head and shoulders above that. It responds better than FSX ever di…

  23. I read in some review that others also said that the joystick was overly sensitive in Flight. My stick is a "loose as a goose". That's some old expression I heard years ago. The stick gets a feel to it in FSX, and other programs, but in Flight, the stick has no center, and no feel.Do any of you know how to make the stick stiffer and more accurate? I'd appreciate the tweak if there is one.Stan

  24. Hi everyone,While I am a true hardcore simulation fan and love FSX, I am eager to try Flight. My computer that runs FS and now, hopefully, Flight, for some reason, is very inconsistent with the internet connection in my apartment. Some stretches of days and weeks it can connect, but other stretches of time, like right now, it cannot connect to the internet for weeks. As a result of this problem, I downloaded the installer from my other computer (which has a solid connection) and used a flash drive to bring it to the FS one. Once running the installer, I realized that the installer downloads the game from online... In other words, I cannot download nor play Flight because …
