I am very reluctant to give my credit card out due to the ease hackers are able to penetrate various well known sites. I prefer PayPal so that if it is compromised I will know quickly and can take action. If 5 or 6 sites have my info, notification or a report of a breach may not be as prompt. So, from what I see Microsoft wants a only a credit card for their "cell-phone like" points?????

When I was growing up, my father always said, "garages aren't for cars, they are for building airplanes". I helped my father build many airplanes through the years. Just after graduating high school, I obtained my pilot's license and was dead set on eventually becoming an airline pilot. While in college I worked at a company who designed audio systems/software for simulators, be it car, aircraft, you name it. Being that I was the resident pilot, it was up to me to fly said sims while the other engineer "tuned" the sounds. Wonder if anyone can help me with something.In the beta whilst doing an aerocache it would tell me the distance to it in Nautical Miles but now it is displaying the distance in Kilometers instead. I can not seem to find an option to change it back to Nautical Miles, anyone else having the same problem?CheersCraig

Since Flight is about missions could this community set up a mission subforum to rate, discuss and solve missions? If we could manage to keep one thread for each mission it could be a great and orderly source of info for those in need.

I've got a two screen set up on my nVidia GeForce GTS450 card - an LCD monitor connected by HDMI (Monitor 1) and a 3D-capable projector connected by DVI (Monitor 2).When I start MS Flight it keeps starting in Anaglyph 3D mode (red/blue) with a prompt (presumably from the nVidia drivers) that no compatible profile could be found, and to press Ctrl-Alt-Insert to disable this message.I have the 3D disabled in nVidia control panel (ie. taken the tick out of "Enable Stereoscopic 3D"), as it doesn't work on the LCD anyway (I only turn it on when I watch films on the Projector), but I can't find any way to turn off this anaglyph mode in MS Flight options, means I can't play it a…

I have just uninstalled Flight from my computer after 10 minutes of trying it...It is just not for me,at least not at present..What turned me off was the lessons at the start flying around the ballons,all I wanted to do was sit on a runway and explore the island at my own pace...Maybe I am missing something?but I could not escape the ballons!Besides all that I recently bought a new PC which runs FSX really well..I have had FSX just prior to its official release(from a mate who worked for Microsoft) but it never ran at an acceptable level for me to enjoy...Now it does and I have just recently uninstalled FS9 from my pc after years and years of great fun and enjoyment..I no…

Hi all,I need your help with these crashes occuring 5 minutes after the flight beginning (with options sliders put to low, medium or high it's the same)The flight is a saved flight over Kona, aircraft in light turn and climbing slowly, I don't touch any key nor the joystick and let the Stearman fly by himself, all looks fine but suddenly the game crashes.I have an Intel i7, Nvidia 230 GT, all my drivers (Nvidia, Intel for Sata, realtek) are updatedWith FSX and Orbx all is perfect and smooth and as good as Flight during the 5 minutes...Any idea?CheersPierre

It struck me as I was giving Flight another try tonight that it reminds me of another Microsoft title, aside from FSX:Freelancer! Many elements seem to borrow from Freelancer -- the mouse-centric flight controls, a lot of the keyboard controls, the ability to take missions within a free flight framework.I wonder if anyone from the Freelancer team was involved in Flight.

Not a surprise to me as I know they started Flight from FSX but I still don't like it....roads cutting thru buildings and baseball fields...bummer...

I see on the map there are freq for the NDB's, I have the Maule and RV but is this enabled in these as I can't get the freq to input on the stack.Anthony

Sorry if this has been asked, but I do not seem to be able to find a search function here at the Flight forum...Anyway, I just have a question about playing offline. I have installed the game and it is working, however it still insists that I log into GFWL and does not give me any alternative. Since my gaming PC is connected to the net via a USB wireless adapter, I always have this adapter disabled except for downloading new game content, etc. In that case, Flight will attempt to log into GFWL, fail to do so, yet proceed to the main screens anyway. So yes, Flight does work when I am offline, but I would rather it not attempt to go through the login process to begin with, …

How much was FS9 and FSX when they first came out? With Flight you get the big island of Hawaii and the Vans RV-6A for free. If you want the rest of the Hawaii island you have to pay, if you want more planes you will have to pay. This will be one expensive game!I spent a lot of money on FS9 but out of the box I got more than 1 plane, the whole world with thousands of airports, downloadable weather, ACT, and A6I planes.

I downloaded for free from Marketplace and it said its installed and cant see it.In the Hangar says I need to buy it.So is it free or not?

Hi All Sorry about that!!! It turns out that AFTER installing MS Flight there were additional files that did, indeed, require updating.....it just took a little LONGER for the updater to find them in my system. Several files and programs WERE updated and it turns out that there is NO problem at all. MS Flight and everything else is working perfectly. Even though I'm using XP Home SP3 I imagine this could possibly happen on Windows 7 as well. Just let the updater RUN IT'S COURSE until it say's that "there are no updates available".......in my case I noted that it was taking longer than usual so I stopped it to soon assuming there was a problem.......ASSUMPTION IS THE MO…

Hi everybody,I am having problem with x45 hotas. When I try to assign "Rotary 1" to control mixture or propeller the game does not see this knob at all. "Rotary 2" works fine but not "Rotary 1". The joystick itself is fine, I use both knobs in other games. Any suggestions how to fix this problem?

Downloaded Flight last night and once I got past the initial startup and training flight I finally managed to get to the menu where by you can choose your plane etc.First thoughts, I don't like the annoying womans voice in the missions but maybe I'll get used to it, I managed to get to Free Flight mode using the Icon A5 I was very impressed, very nice to fly and seemed quite smooth on high settings for everything, so then I decided to try the Boeing Stearman which I needed to sign into my live account to do.OK, I'm signed in and load up the Stearman and now I'm just getting loads of stutters, no smooth flight, this is what annoys me with the Windows environment, it's all …

Hi, All,Does anyone notice the instrument in the cockpit?They actually have Nav Radio, Altimeter tune and trim etc.Also, the legends of the map show available VOR, NDB and ILS, and the airport gives the radio frequency info.So I guess the interface of modeling instruments and other details has already built in the game.Can anyone confirm if this MS flight is a framework or not? That means the API can be invoked by third-party addons, or MS studio could release an SDK for further extension.
