Going to be fun looking this going up or down. This is a very known german website presenting how many people liked it or not.Right now 878 votes, 84% positive. And 96,000 downloads! Talk about amounts. I guess Microsoft wasn't that wrong after all.http://www.chip.de/downloads/Microsoft-Flight-Vollversion_54808573.html

Hi,I have never flown a plane in real life. Comparing Flight with FSX i discovered the landings are touhger. Maybe im just an bad pilot but within FSX it didnt matter if i flared way to early. Most of the times i landed soft. But with flight i did some pretty heavy landings. I also had a very hard landing after i did a sight seeing for some old lady. Well...she wetted her pants so maybe it was the extra weight :)Is flight more realistic when it comes down to aircraft handeling and physics?

I hate to jump onto the naysayer pickup truck, but I spent a couple hours in Flight yesterday, and although I'll probably spend a little time in it here and there because I really like the Icon A5 airplane, I'm not impressed overall. My initial impression was pretty good; I started at Kona Airport, and it's a reasonably accurate depiction of the buildings and even the rental car lots to the east of the airport are depicted. But, I was anxious to see how they did with Kamuela/Waimea up to the north, as I am very familiar with that town. I was trying not to get my hopes up, but nevertheless was disappointed to see basic landclass and what I'm assuming to be Autogen buildings…

One thing that i don't like for the most part is the SPOT view because it reminds me of the view from FS2004 and not the smooth moving view that FSX offers. SPOT is different from LOCKED SPOT. FLIGHT is using LOCKED SPOT and not SPOT. Hpe i didn't make this confusing as i write this! Free flight was pretty good! I could smash my joystick if i have to hear the voice talking during the missions to get to free flight. Once in Free flight it ran smoothly on my Dell XPS 8300 with GT530 card. My opinions on whether it is a poor product or great one will wait until a year from now and see what downloadable content we get.

Hiya,I've figured out how to use TrackIR in Microsoft Flight. It's not perfect, but it does a reasonably good job.Essentially, it's simply using the TrackIR mouse emulation. But to do this, you have to assign a button on your joystick to emulate holding down the right mouse button as well. So, download Joy2Key, a free joystick keyboard emulation program. Choose your preferred joystick button and assign either/both mouse buttons. Then, open up the trackIR mouse emulation utility found in your TrackIR folder. Then, once in the game, holding down the joystick button and moving your head will move your mouse cursor, essentially giving you sorta-normal trackIR movements. …

Firstly, does this game support force feedback? This does not seem to be clear and there is no checkbox to enable / disable it. I am using a Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 and was expecting to feel force feedback effects from control surfaces, landing gear, etc as I did in FSX. But so far, nothing at all.Secondly, I cannot brake any of the aircraft. I have tried allocating different control buttons and keyboard buttons to both brakes as well as individual left and right brakes, but absolutely nothing happens when I press these keys or buttons. Finally, the checkbox to faciliate the progerssive stop does not make any difference either way, but that probably ties in with the …

Hi folks,I can't seem to get the rudder turned off for the joystick. I want to keep it only for the pedals. I tried going to the OPTIONS and selecting my joystick and deactivating the rudder, but it won't let me unassign/delete it.

So, I've only about 12 hours in a 152. . .But, Flight seems a lot more difficult and a lot more realistic that FSX in terms of how the planes handle, how wind affects the flight and landing, how IMC conditions truely are bizzare, eerie, and claustrophoic feeling unlike anything experienced in FSX (or any previous version). A specific example is a crosswind landing challenge. It's a lot more dynamic all the way down the glidepath with a lot of bobbing and correcting. In FSX, I would just figure out the right angle and it wasn't much different than a no-wind scenerio. The ILS challenges: I've more than once completely lost control of the plane and died. For whatever reas…

After reading some of the responses from senior members who are enjoying this new product, I've come to realize that posting my complaints about Flight really doesn't help anything. This is your forum to discuss this new game as a group of people actually playing it. Who am I to come in and crash the party just because it isn't my cup of tea? There are some good things here. Maybe Flight will broaden the flight enthusiast audience. Maybe this will lead to a broad enough audience to justify investing development resources in FS11. Maybe it will bring in new friends who otherwise would not get involved in our little world. Or maybe there will be a lot more people who …

I downloaded and installed it this afternoon, and just spent an hour or so trying out the Icon and Stearman. My first version of MSFS was FS98. I really got into MSFS with FS2000. I've also owned Flight Unlimted, Flight Unlimited 2 & 3, Fly!, Fly! 2, XP9 and I'm also an avid combat flight sim fan and have owned just about every title in that genre in the last 20 years. I'm comfortable with the likes of PMDG, Level D and Accu-Sim. I consider myself to be a fairly accomplished flight simulation enthusiast. After reading so many negative things about Flight I didn't have very high expectations. Still I gave it a shot, it's free and didn't cost me a penny... and I've been v…

Greetings to everyone!First post in long time, but not first post.Remembering back to the thrill that was the first in the series of "Flight Unlimited" Had that "this is new" feeling, the whole atmosphere of color, ambient sounds...the wind noise, the sound of wings buckling when you overstressed the model... it may have taken a while but after playing it out it seemed to become "flight limited" for me and it was back to FS..I have been flying this new great sim for hours today and I have really mixed feelings that this isnt as "new" as FU was at the time but simply the best next FS!!! However please dont flame me but I am sorry to say Im starting to get Deja Vu becuase t…

Started up Flight for the first time today and from the flight control options I selected my joystick as an input device, pressed accept and the game didn't save my settings, but instead reverted back to keyboard. Anyone else experiencing this?

Microsoft really blew it on this one. I downloaded the demo for Flight! and then found I had to join their "gaming network" just to be able to "play". After setting the "game" up my controls wouldn't work. I couldn't find any options that allow me to adjust sensitivity or calibrate them. I don't like the "arcade" feel nor do I like the fact that I can't just "fly". I hate the fact that I am made to fly a "mission". Plus, why do I have to buy planes, islands, missions ect. just to make it more interesting?? I have been flying flight simulators since FS4 and had been happy with the steady progression of "realisim" that Microsoft (Aces Studios) had approached until now. The …

The one thing I disliked about FSX, was the lame Mission system. Talk about a flopped concept. If the same about of time had been spent on fixing FSX, as was WASTED on the Mission system, FSX would have been far better. Now I find in FLIGHT, I am "FORCED" to fly "Archade Kiddie Missions", if I want to evolve the gameplay past that of and Archade game, collecting coins. Here is an IDEA : How many LIVE POINTS do I have to spend to NOT have to waste time with the KIDDIE opening missions, and get FLIGHT to run in "free Flight" / "ADULT Mode" ??

No idea is it because of my setting, my grafic card or it's "step down" from FSX, but my pilots looks like statues... no hands, no heads moving at all... But it was even "skin" animation and eyes blink in FSX...Everyone have the same ?And one more, not to stand up two times ) - is any chance for SDK ? Did MS says something about it ? This is question of "life and death" for small teams like ours..Thanks,Andrey Tsvirenko

Tip from a Developer:Tip for people who want to clear out their Flight.cfg without losing their career progress:Instead of deleting the file, remove everything except:[GFWL]ProfileMode=1I haven't confirmed this myself, but please try it out. It should recreate all the other fields, but keep your career.Hope this helps.

Loaded the sim. Works. In flight, suddenly the ailerons go apes..t and start rolling the plane. Left, right, over and over again. Then stops and back to normal (for a while). Happens even if i don't touch the yoke, but mostly when trying to land or change direction. NE1 else having this problem? Can't finish the tutorials. :Waiting:

Hi All.Been a huge fan of the MS series since 2004. Spent a fortune on FSX add ons as im 1 of them who loves realism. When Microsoft announced Flight was scheduled I was over the moon. Leading nearer to takeoff day some of you made me think twice about the game. I downloaded today and I didnt think it was that bad at all.... I actually enjoyed it. Everyone seems to having a pop at Microsoft, but surely submitting feedback to them in a nicer way would make sense? Rather than have the same sets of fans downloading the game they have simply explained they want a wider audience and a different variety of people to download it. Surley this is the only way they can kick this ga…
