Y'all, I've figured out how to use the VOR instrumentation in the RV-6A to execute an ILS approach and landing in zero-visibility using the localizer and glide slope indicator. The instrumentation on the Maule is different. I've figured out the VOR to the point where I can effectively use the localizer to line myself up with the runway centerline. However, I cannot find, or figure out how to work, the glide slope indicator in the Maule. Or does it not have one?

I do love FLIGHTand am waiting for Alaska. Some of you might find this interesting while things are kind of slow on the forum. I voluntree at a "Challenger Learning Center for Science and Technology" located in Woodstock Illinois. There are 47 such centers located in the continental U.S. We run space flight simulations with mostly 5th grade classes from around the surrounding area. That would be 10 and 11 year old kids. We operate a space craft simulator and a full ground control room. It is very gratifying to watch the kids learn to communicate, solve science and math problrms as they relate to the mission, and handle the onboard emergencys we throw at them. The Challen…

Ok, FLIGHT freshly installed, a few great test flights with the AM6 "Zero" and a question for you... What is the best software, preferably free, I could use to record videos of my flights? Back in the old FS9/FSX days I used FRAPS, but, are there any alternatives worth the try? System: windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Thx for any suggestions ;-)

Folks For those who have contact - a minor correction is required to one of the comments while sightseeing over Battleship Row. The woman probably shouldn't remember seeing too many photos of Missouri in 1941 - she was sitting in the New York Naval Yard, having just been laid down. She didn't reach the Pacific until late in 1944. Yes... a minor quibble. :Nerd: Mike

Chino Planes of Fame is just five miles from my home. I love seeing these classic warbirds fly around near my home. I love the smell of aviation fuel, oil and hydraulic fluids. Call me weird but I just do. As a former KC-135 crew chief, I just can't get over the sight, sounds and smell of military aviation. It would be very cool to do this kind of flying, airshow style, in MS Flight. These planes have no working weapons, they are there to show the crowd, the pure joy and excitement of these classic warbirds. For me MS Flight, with it's warbird add-ons, even cockpit-less, are fun and exciting. That's why I'm not going to complain about it. I think it's rath…

I was browsing the Natural Point TiR forums and found this.http://forum.naturalpoint.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=50464#Post50464"They have our SDK, and they've expressed a desire and intention to integrate TrackIR. But until it's released we can't say for sure. If want to get involved, I'd recommend emailing the Flight team directly to ask for an update and make your request known to them."That was on Feb 9th. I really WANT TiR support in Flight, and I hope they do have official support from the dev team! If not, I hope NP "hacks" in support like they have done in the past with the MSFS, CFS, and IL2 series. I would say to support TiR by posting you…

Hi, For general flight I'd been using "Fair weather". I didn't care for the little puffy clouds but I didn't want to turn weather off completely. I tried "Low and threatening" and this seems a much nicer choice. Not particularly low and not particularly threatening. Considering the number of waterfalls this seems a good choice. Any suggestions? Jim F.

This is based on nothing more than a dream I had tonight ... After hours spent yesterday re-installing Windows7 HP 64 bit and all of the patches and productivity applications, and afterwards **** FLIGHT **** , I got to bed and in one of the night dreams there I was entering the cockpit of the P-40 just to find out that I had to go through a bunch of checklists because it was operational... It would be a pleasant surprise to the FLIGHT community, and somehow, I believe we will be surprised...

Well, I was stupid. I just purchased the Maule but was stupid and did it using my alternate email address. Apparently all DLC purchases are attached to your email address and cannot be transferred and there is no refund. This is not a fault of MS but of my not understanding and being new to the whole live purchase environment. Now I'm out the 16 bucks or restricted to only the "free" offering for Flight without the Hawaiian DLC. I just figured I'd kind of warn others that may be new to the whole DLC world like I am. Yes I called and talked to a MS person that said I was basically out of luck because that was how DLC worked.

Wow... that was the easiest aerocache to date. I clicked on the PMHK airport icon and selected the 05 runway and bingo I'm on the runway and the aerocache is hovering behind the airport building at the other end of the runway. I jammed the throttle on the RV6A and at 66 knots lifted off and banked toward the aerocache. I then banked hard to avoid the tall trees and the aerocache was mine. The whole thing took 20 seconds of flying. Now for my two daily clandestine cargo runs if I can find them. I can't wait for something new to do. Even the cargo spy runs are becoming routine and boring. I am trying to get to one million XP. I have only 85K to go... what then…

Well I have said all along I would not purchase any plane without a VC. I must fess up, today I went back on this. Due to seeing some other threads of folks flying from within the shell of a cockpit by moving the eyepoint back, I went ahead and purchased it today. I guess I just wanted to see something a little different and used the fact I can at least feel like I am flying from within, rather than from outside, as justifcation. That and I want to continue to support Flight as it progresses... after all they have stated they are working on Track IR implementation, and plus I already had a few MS points left over from the original DLC purchases I had made. Have not …

I installed Flight on a new pc, but now it's like I've never done any challenge or mission. So I thought Flight must save the progress in challenges or missions on the pc. But I can't find out where. Does anyone know ?

Hi, I really don't expect any enlightenment on this but I'm just posting in case anyone else experiences any thing similar. A few weeks ago I downloaded a DVD copy program. I thought I'd check it out last night. Rather than copying a DVD I just tried to save an image to the desktop. I started the program and it said it would take about 38 mins. I decided to load Flight and get the caldera cache. Every step took immensely longer to load. I was even asked if I wanted to sign in as a different user. I chose the RV-6 and selected the military airfield to fly from. When I was finally able to fly, the RV-6 performance was much smoother than without another task run…

Hello to all I am finishing my home cockpit and I use it to fly in FS9, FSX, X-Plane 10 and IL-2 Sturmovik. In all of them I can turn off the 3D cockpit to have only the scenery with no cockpit at all. Why? because I have most of the instrument in my cockpit so I don't need them on the screen or the frame cockpit from the 3D game. In Microsoft Flight how can I turn off the 3D cockpit to have only the view that I need? Thank you.
