Just out of curiosity, for those dreaming for the ability to fly between Alaska and Hawaii (once Alaska is released), do you realize the distance between Alaska and Hawaii and how long that would take with the planes currently available today, not to mention the chair commitment without autopilot or HDG/ALT hold?

  2. Well, I guess I'll ask here since I can't seem to raise anyone on the Steam Support site. I purchased the currently advertised Hawaii bundle that includes the Maule, the P51, and some other things, this morning. Nothing happened other than an email from Steam confirming the purchase. Nothing downloaded, the game doesn't show up in my Steam game library, and I have been unable to get a response from Steam on the issue. Can anyone shed some light on how I might either get my contant downloaded and working, or whom I might call for a refund? Of course, I can always do a chargeback on my credit card, but I had rather get the content downloaded and working, if possible…

  3. I just looked at the Aerocache of the day for April 15 (Kalohi-Pallolo Channels) and think there is a problem with the instructions. It states to fly the intersection of Lanai VOR on the 210 radial, the Maui VOR on the 88 radial, and the Molokai VOR 285 radial. VOR radials extend away from VOR on the magnetic course indicted by the number. Therefore, the stated radials do not intersect. If the reciprocal of the given VOR radials is used, they do intersect. This would make the instruction state Lanai VOR 030 radial, Maui VOR on the 268 radial, and the Molokai VOR on the 105 radial. Just a thought. I haven't finished flying it yet, but I think I have a better …

A little help for an old man please. I have done a nice water landing, taxied up to the landing for the memorial, opened the cockit, exited the plane (Icon) but I am stopped at that point. No matter which direction I try and go I am stopped. Your help will be appreciated. Les

Hey gang, Just a heads up - I applied the update a few minutes ago, took a look at my standard.xml file in the controls folder - it appears to have reset it to the default values it had originally. So if you have tweaked yours for sensitivity/null zones, you might want to make a backup copy first or at least be aware you may need to tweak again. Now someone mentioned in another thread it seems smoother, I have not flown as of yet so may want to check that out first before adding tweaks back in... EDIT: Fly it first before tweaking your XML file back!! I just did a quick test flight in the RV6 - which I found to be the most sensitive to my contoller input…

Folks Is it just me, or have we lost some nose up trim range on the RV since the update? I swear I used to be able to trim the thing for a 70kt, full flap approach. Now I feel like I always have to have some back pressure on the stick to hold it now. No biggie really, and I might be imagining it. Just curious to see if it's just me. Cheers Mike Dryden

Disclaimer: 1. If you don't own the Maule my 'tip' (Method B) will still work, but you won't be able to start from a parking spot or ramp from ANY airport. The next best option is to choose the Stearman where I say 'Maule'. 2. On my system a flight loads in a few seconds. If it takes minutes to load a flight on your PC, this tip will take longer than a minute on your PC... obviously... 3. Please don't be put off by the long story below: the method I use is very simple but I just talk too much... Like many of you I don't like it that you can't pick a parking spot or ramp and start your free flight from there, cold and dark. Starting on the runway with the engines …

  9. I have installed Nhancer for my GTX280M to help out FSX (which it does certainly)... however after I did that a while back I noticed that perf. in FLIGHT tanked... is this to be expected? FLIGHT used to be butter smooth but now banking the plane makes the graphics not fluid, choppy as the horizon kind of feels like it's "flipping" or jerking in a bank.... Am I the only one? Nhancer be installed to run FLIGHT well? I won't do that cuz it's great for FSX.... certainly someone here runs Nhancer or Inspector and FLIGHT also right?

I recently edited the "standard" file in my Flight installation to decrease sensitivity of my worn out old joystick. But I now want to return the settings of sensitivity and null to their original settings for a new joystick, and I can't find the notes I took that that listed them. Can someone help me with original settings for ailerons, elevator and rudder for both sensitivity and null? Thanks! Dewey

  14. I am an 'occasionally flight simmer' taking a spin for a few hours when real life permits. My 'records' in flight simming goes back to CFS2, IL2, FS2000 (What a dog!), FS9 and FSX. And no tube liners to me, thank you. Cruising at 30.000 feet gets a bit boring in the long run. No, I like to fly low and slow, bush flying style. With challenging weather and approaches, up-hill, cross wind and very short landings. Separately or all together. And I sometimes fly 'heading, time and distance' with the GPS turned of. Thus the visuals has always been paramount to me. And I have roamed the internet for hours for add-ons for my flight sims. I have struggled, tweaked and adju…

Does MS flight support muliple monitors? And how is this done? Is it one view stretched across both monitors or 2 separate views (as in FSX)? Thanks Mike

  16. I'm wondering if anybody else has run into this with Microsoft Flight... Everything has worked well with my installation of Microsoft Flight for weeks until very recently. Now, I'm noticing that I have all sounds, except when I am in the external view, chase view, fly-by view. I have sound (e.g., engine) in cockpit view and top-down view. I haven't been able to correlate this change in behavior to any particular event. I've mailed this question in to the Microsoft Flight team, and the question was acknowledged as received, but I haven't heard anything back from them. I am running Windows 7 x64. Has anybody run into this? Does anyone have any suggestion…

Ok first before I get to my comment, I am going to toot my horn here a little. I am pleased to say, on my first attempt at the RV6 landing challenge 6 - I managed to complete it and ace it , getting the gold. I was pretty pleased with that one. I did a pretty good job keeping the indicators in alignment. Now if I could just do the same with that dang Maule challenge 6... Anyways, this afternoon I decided to fly a job and had the weather set to among the giants. I was taxiing to the runway and had about a 16 knot somewhat of a crosswind, more diagonal I guess than anything. The nose of the RV6 went extremely to the right. I was going around say 15km on the ground…

  23. Well, I have seen many of you in the multiplayer rooms and I was already level 20 with over 40 hours of flight time (probably close to 60). My work laptop which met minimum requirements (barely) struggled to keep up and no matter what I would try, would always run real hot if Flight was running. Well, now I have complete hard drive failure. The IT guys at work are struggling to figure out what could cause a catastrophic drive failure (oops). So, I know many of us have had the issue where we had to start over on the first mission. I did backup my career folder about a week ago to a network drive. Do I just copy the entire folder of careers to Flight and completely…

With Alaska scenery coming soon... it would be neat to set up some flights similar to what they show on the show "Flying Wild Alaska". If you hadn't seen the show, there are some really good examples of brave bush flying up there in the wild north. One mission involved taking high explosives from Wainwright (Barrow) http://skyvector.com...ight-As-Airport perilously along the Russian air defense border to Gambell on St. Lawrence Island. http://skyvector.com...Gambell-Airport see trailer for the clip here: http://dsc.discovery...isode-6-videos/

http://www.fs2000.or...flight-on-final Everything it offers you can get for free elsewhere (like on Avsim) or is utterly useless. I am surprised Microsoft allows stuff like this to be SOLD by a third party...! What's the fun of being lined up with an Aerocache...? Who wants to pay to see the 'Delta' (also known as UFO) fly...? 'Scenic adventures'...? Probably simple savegames above point of interest. I like our own Freeware Adventures a lot more then: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/369585-user-challenges/ And I already downloaded all aproach charts from Airnav...
