Holiday in Lisbon :-) and... 3-2 Portugal vs Denmark :-) A visit to a good'old friend who owns in excess of 700 simulation programs (go figure...) gave me the chance to finally try: - Xplane10 with the best add-ons - AeroflyFS - DCS p-51 as well as a review of fsx with some of the greatest scenery areas ever developed and aircraft as well. On the train back home all that I could think about is that, in fact, and to my satisfaction, I made the right choice when I decided to get fully dedicated to MS FLIGHT. I wasn't wrong, at least in as far as my feelings, sensations, experience goes. I'll definitely save my €€€ for MS FLIGHT DLCs :-) P.S.: Not …

I do a lot of various things during the day, and my computer especially has a hard workout. At any given time there might be 15 or more web pages open, several programs.... and of course, at one point or another, Flight. Now its not uncommon for me to wander away to do this or that. Answer a phone and then decide to run somewhere...... The computer and hence flight could be left running for hours. Then I come back and get ready to belatedly shut things down....... Only to find that in my absence, a thriving little community has grown up, and several people are buzzing around and having a grand old time, including doing missions and etc.... I never have the hea…

I'm terrible at geography---except, it now seems, for HI. In another forum, I came across this: I knew the location!! Check out http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/100-incredible-views-out-of-airplane-windows/. There are a few AK shots too :-).

If you hunt for the aerocache along Highway 61 you will not find it. And it's not on the next highway through the mountains either (It's not on highway 63) You need to follow the John A. Burns Highway (Highway 113) if you want to find it. Someone needs to buy the aerocache guys a Rand/McNally.

Paul Donnelly (BASys) has kindly reminded us that Flight has been out for 100 days which is good cause for cheer for many of us. In celebration of this momentous occasion, I thought to resurrect what was one of the most popular, if not the most popular, discussion in the Beta Discussion Group - Your "WOW!" moment. That is to say, and I quote the developer "Wedge" who first started the discussion: "...what some of your favorite discoveries, moments, or experiences have been with Flight so far. This will help us to possibly expand or create more of those kinds of moments and opportunities down the road." A great idea and a good way to let the devs know what we l…

more like a turboprop, specially when taxiing... There's that typical turbine metalic sound... I would really like to have a turboprop in MS FLIGHT, and some are widely used in Alaska :-) Too many wishes for a day... Best chances are... No Alaska on Thursday and no Turboprop on it .... Well :-)

Todays aerocahce is on the NW side of Oahu, NOT the NE side. Should be easy to find, just fly the ridgeline.

On a future DLC, after Alaska, probably one for Central USA, or Europe/Africa, it would be great if MS FLIGHT added to the hangar de "Solar Impulse". I've been tracking it's mission and it looks great! Such an airship would certainly allow for very interesting Missions, Achievements :-)

I've toured around the islands looking for large flat fields that can support a group flight. I found a nice big field at the eastern end of the big island, and another on the southeast coast. To help with situational awareness, I print-screened the top-down views and pasted them into a graphics program. Funny... these look familiar... very familiar... extremely familiar. Looks like MS is re-using some fairly big chunks of terrain to save on development time!

It had been a long time since I frequented the Screen Shot Forums. I was really surprised and disappointed that there are barely any Flight screen shots. Perhaps we should be allowed and encourage posting them here!!?

Where are they? I recall having flown one once, but now when I open the Job Boards, no mater at what time of the day, I see no such missions? Are they tittled "Clandestine", or do they list as normal "Cargo" missions and once you choose them you are told they're Clandestine?

I now have a P51 red tail. If I need to reformat my hard drive, can I back up this plane on a disk or something. I do not want to loose it if I have to reformat. Thank you Regards: Fritz

Ok, got the Aerothinge and but Red Tail down at Old Kono airstrip. That makes 124 for me, still a few more out there. I guess I will have to start looking under a few more bridges. So now I have two Mustangs in the hanger. Forgot to attach

Hello, I just started playing Flight, and I've enjoyed flying the small props VFR in FSX in the past. I have a couple concerns about Flight: 1. Rudder Control. In FSX, there was autorudder, where you could use the aileron axis on your joystick to control the rudder (for taxiing). Now, in Flight, there's no autorudder, so I can't turn while taxiing on the ground anymore (my joystick doesn't twist). I have to use the "mouse control mode", which, apparently, the left-right axis for ailerons controls the rudder as well. Controlling the rudder with keyboard just stinks, as many may know. Is there any workaround to have my joystick axis control BOTH aileron and rudder? Than…

So, in doing the challenge where you land the Maule on the concrete platform by the observatory, I encountered my first 60k winds in game. I really really enjoyed it. You can practically stand still and fly your plane like a kite. Great challenge, to land on such a small platform in such high winds, I had a blast. Then, I entered free flight around the big island in the daytime, set to "squalls", and I kept encountering these super winds..now they are gone! Does anybody know definitively what combination of altitude, (the higher the stronger I assume) geography (wind coming down the mountain in the evening and such) time of day and year, and weather setting g…

Watching a science-related TV show today, one of the scenes was at the observatory at Mauna Kea... surrounded by snow. Hey Microsoft, WHERE'S OUR SNOW? :LMAO:

I’m so done with Hawaii I just had to do something new. (to me). Today I circumnavigated all the Islands. Got on my fully loaded Vans RV-6A (with cockpit) and started with Maui, then did Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, Oahu, Kawai, Niihau and finally did Hawaii, this big island took two solid hours, the rest can be done in less than one hour each. Landed at all coastal airports along the way, actually touch and go’s, refueled a couple times. Flew around 300 ft. and followed the shorelines. It was quite fun, got to see some very good scenery (although there are some areas that need a polish remake). It was also worthwhile as I found 5 aerocaches I had previousl…

I am a long time flight simmer, ( many decades) and quit about 5 years ago right after FSX came out. Had hundreds of dollars of add-ons on FS9, and didn't want to start all over again with a new version. I read about this new free version and decided to download it yesterday morning, and when I got home last night fired it up. I had given away my CH yoke, and all I had to fly with was a mouse. The first thing, when I started it , it told me that my processor was too slow and the game probably wouldn't run very well. ( I have a Pentium 4 3.6 G and only 1 gig of ram on my current PC.) Oh well, for free, I'll try it anyway. To my surprise, not only does it run OK, but…

I notice that when I sometimes respond in the Flight Forum to somebody's post, no matter how "innocent" it is, it goes into a "saving post" mode. Does that mean I'm on the list to be scutinized and possibly censored? Stan

I may be missing something totally obvious here, and search brought up 0 results, so does anyone know how to zoom the hangar view in and out? I'd like to see more than just the undercarriage of some of those planes... Tried various keys and mouse buttons to no avail.

What ? Yep, its 7th June 2012 100 days since FLIGHT was RTW, and 156 days since Beta commenced. Thought it an event worth marking with a post. Apologies for its lengthy rambling and tardiness, IRL got in the way today, and I was a little rushed this evening. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So what have we got - To Date - Microsoft FLIGHT - Free core product - 4,028 sq mi land - Hawaii "Big Island" - Icon A5 - Deluxe Aircraft - Stearman - Deluxe Aircraft Hawaiian Adventure Pack - 1st Scenery area DLC - 2,395 sq mi land - Hawa…
