Wish I could afford one of these, but $139,000 is a bit past my budget. http://www.iconaircraft.com/lifestyle.html

I never really liked the Stearman and hardly flew it up to now. After buying rudder pedals I gave the plane another try and it was easier to fly with those pedals for me, but I just couldn't get used to the view on the panel... I felt trapped somehow. Not nice. This evening I did my first flight with the Stearman and TrackIR, one of those sightseeing jobs, and I have to say... that plane is a BLAST!!! I love it now! Being able to freely look around makes a world of difference!!! It also makes sightseeing so much more fun! So the update brought me a 'new' plane to use: the Stearman! I also am still very happy with that R-key: being able to do that sightseeing …

Does FLIGHT rate ones landings? I mean apart from the guy going on about testing the gear and all that (isn't a good landing one you can walk away from, already?) The last three missions I have done (I only fly clandestine missions, now - I hate to say it, but I'm a bit bored of flying chickens and filing cabinets, and don't get me started on the nurse) I have had to do two, or in one case, three landings to complete the mission, and think I may have the answer (apologies if this is old stuff...delete the post, Jeroen) Having turned off the mssion pointer, and flying in inclement and changing weather, due to the often small and hidden nature of the strips, and not…

At 10,000' you're shoulder-to-shoulder with waves of snow-capped peaks that extend to the horizon. You look down at a wide glacier below. You look up to the scattered lone peaks that poke up to nearly 20,000'. You're not on air traffic control radar and you haven't been able to reach Flight Service on the radio for 20 minutes. You're alone among the mountains enjoying views that, without an aircraft, would require three weeks of trekking and climbing to reach. This is general aviation in Alaska. These are some excerpts from "Bring your own ropes -- a guide to flying to and in Alaska" by Philip Greenspun. I highly recommend reading it to anyone who hasn't seen it befo…

All I can give you for now is the Music Theme... Each new scenery DLC comes with it's proper soundtrack, typical of the zone. I liked the Hawaii theme, now the Alaska too... If one day MS released ALENTEJO(*) for MS FLIGHT, the loading screens would sound like this.... Sorry... I really just wanted to give you some music while we desperately wait for MS FLIGHT Alaska... :-) (*) The southern part of Portugal, and also the most beautiful one :-), ok, not necessarily the music.... P.S.: running to hide behind my Firewall waiting for the atack :-|

Just wondering, when you are trying to get one of those prizes like I just did in the Maule, and after hitting it you crash into the water and the Maule sinks ( very realistic by the way) does it count? :Monkey:

What is with all the bugs? I just started flight and had a downloading update notice..3rd time in a week. After it started all my missions and challenges which were all completed were gone. I think i'll hold off on Alaska until after it's been out for a week.

Guys, since it has been long since I erased all my FSX stuff from the HD I really don't recall if this was modelled in MSFS previous versions, but I believe that if it was then it would only get reflected in force feedback devices... In MS FLIGHT when out of "mouse control mode" (MCM) and with no joystick attached to the PC, so, ready to fly only using the keyboard, when travelling accross turbulence the yoke (in the Maule) moves, as well as the rudder pedals, due to forces on the control surfaces (ailerons, rudder and elevator). This is a neat feature!!!

It seems the initial install took it upon itself to install on my C:\. I didn't think much of it until I say the specs for Alaska and looked at my available hard drive space. I'd like to put Flight on my 'Flightsim' drive which has way more space. I know I'll have to uninstall it and move it but is that even possible?

Today I installed MS FLIGHT's latest update. It took longer on XP, a lot less on Win7 64 bit, got stuck for 4 times due to network congestion on XP, installed smoothly at the first try on Win 7. On both systems I noticed increased smoothness, or, at least, no less than before (but I am almost sure it is smoother now...). The added Controls made me rather happy, just as did the additional Weather Themes. The Images from Alaska are simply GREAT! The only aircraft we almost know for sure will be added is a MUST, and I am really looking forward to get it :-) All of this happened in just a few minutes, no PITA, no complicated install/reinstall/tweak, nothing...…

Am I the only one who is having endless issues with Live and the Games for Windows Marketplace? I have been very pleasantly surprised with Flight itself. I had intially decided that it didn't look "serious" enough, but the other weekend I downloaded it anyway, just to have a look. And I was sold within minutes - I love the look, the feel, I love the idea that it gently guides you into progressing as a pilot, and, most surprising of all, I found the restricted map liberating - I felt that I could actually explore the whole thing, realistically, rather than being faced with an entire world of limited quality. All good, I thought, I'd like to drop some cash on this. More…

Seeing as we have the Maule I'll go ahead and buy Alaska for the scenery alone. One can only hope this trend of 'Basic' models comes to an end so some serious enjoyment of this product can insue. My next fear is the area covered in this next installment is smaller than we were lead to believe. I hope the whole state is covered most importantly the Fjords area as that would be a blast. This along with TrackIR would give me hope more robust aircraft are in the works that would allow us to fly around this vast area. Bottom line is I can't pass on this scenery but things have got to change in their minds concerning aircraft development. I'd love to see the warbirds r…

Before starting to draw wrong assumptions about the way the MAULE is being modelled in MS FLIGHT I decided to follow a smarter way and registered (still waiting for activation...) at a Forum of RL Maule users :-) My intention is, of course, to learn from various posts there, and also to get some feedback from RL Maule pilots :-) A very interesting thread there showed me the following... A feature I was totally unaware of... "The rudder trim handle when pulled just holds the rudder pedals in a position. The tab on the rudder is connected by two thin cables to the aileron cables just overhead to the side of the pilot and copilot. When you move the ailerons, the ta…

Maybe with Alaska MSF can take its first crack at some AI traffic DLC, like a $4.99 download of "Carribu Herds, Wild Grizzly, Polar Bear, Killer Whale Pods, Wolf Packs and Seals, with hunter themed mission adventures."

Was this a new one or did I just miss it before. I did roll out and got it, just clearing the trees on the way out. That makes 136, still behind.

When Flight loads after their latest update, it continuously, (meaning at every loading) asks if you want to update the controls. Naturally I wish to keep my hard earned mapping for my joystick etc. which it took me weeks to do. But every time they ask you to update, so I thought, well, maybe since they are always asking, that it is importanrt and that they have CONSIDERATE programmers that would keep your old assignments... HECK NO Now I gotta re-assign everything? What a nuissance
