The forum display when you try to read a thread is all messed up. Also, can't do a new topic. I had to do this on my Android phone using an app. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2 It's fixed now.... started working normally as soon as I sent message from my phone. go figure....

Am I missing something or is there no instant replay. If that's the case how many would welcome this feature in the sim?

One of my favorite pastimes when I live in Miami was to rent a 152 and do touch and goes at night at Ft Lauderdale Intl and Ft Lauderdale Exec, going back and forth. Love the look of he city at night. Tonight I flew back and forth between PANC and Merrill Field. Looked pretty cool I wish I had thought to turn the cockpit lights off however.

Hi there, After I did learn to fly inverted it comes that this only can be done with Mustang plane, all the rest I tested (Hawaii pack) after i got inverted it lasts for about 10 seconds, then the engine stops. Any idea?

  6. I downloaded several new content pieces last night and since then my controls (Saitek x45, and Saitek Pro Flight Yoke) have been messed up. To be specific when the game launches the ailerons are showing that the stick is leaning dead right. I've gone through all of the normal procedures of calibrating my stick through windows and downloading the new drivers. I'm at the end of my troubleshooting knowledge. Anyone else run into this issue and know how to fix it? I've been playing FS since FS2000 through FSX and I have enjoyed my experience so far with flight I would hate to have to put this on the shelf, as it's my stress relief game right now.

Hello, I have installed (I think ...) the Hawaii bundle. When I start "flight" I always see this window , is this normal? Do I need to select each time I want to fly ? Not possible to install like in FSX? Thanks in advance. MOD BREAK: Picture removed! It's indeed not er... adviced to post your personal keys online...!!!

  8. Hi All, Just wanted to share a few hours of pain with you I had when installing Alaska. Actually it wasn't too bad in the end thanks to some helpful internet folks, and I think the tips I've picked up proved very useful so I've started this topic so the faithful can refer to should future DLC's cause any concerns. Just wanted to say I've had no issues at all with installations in Flight up until the Alaska pack, maybe I was unlucky with this, there isn't too much in the forums so hopefully these events are pretty rare - but downloading large files always has the potential to cause issues. Microsoft Flight has detected a corrupted installation and will now exit…

A few miles downstream from Devils Mountain Lodge, I ran across something that looked at first like a large hill in mid-river. As I got closer, it looked like several hills in mid-river. After I landed and walked up to it, I'm guessing these are supposed to be rapids? Looks good... I didn't even mind it defying the law of gravity. :Hypnotized:

I do not know, if I have missed something. But why is nobody missing the the other two paint schemes of the Carbon Cub, you can see in the trailer: a red/silver one and a yellow/silver one. Do these come with the Deluxe Version maybe?

Daily I poll mainly Avsim and another mandatory site - Xplanes'10 Blog, run by Simmo, one of our forum members. Being originaly designed with XPlane in mind, and being Simmo a very active XPlane user, he is allways ready to add links, info, movies, shots, whatever to other simulation platforms worth the mention. Soon after MS FLIGHT's release Simmo started posting news about "our" sim, and todays posts include great shots and movies :-) Thx Simmo for being the way you are, not tied to a fanatic oppinion/blind criticism, and for giving us a great Blog to poll everyday, even if, just like me, we ar not xplane users... http://xplane10.wordpress.com/

  13. After I picked up a yoke/TPM I stopped using my xbox controller, so lost rudder control. I took apart the xbox controller and mounted the pots on a plastic strip so I could use them for rudder control with one of my hands off to the side. I'm in the process of designing a feet-based system using the same pots (plus two more from the same controller for toe brakes). My original design called for using some old garden aerator shoes found in the alley as a base for my feet, kind of like the Saitek Proflight pedals. After reading some comments on these forums about the difference with the Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals, I wonder if I should go with something like that in…

  14. Hi, out of curiosity I took a flight from Petersburgh to Sitka in both, Flight and FSX + Tongass Fjords. Here are some comparison shots I made. Of course Tongass fjords covers only a small area of Alaska, making it a bit of an unfair comparison. The locations and altitudes are not exactly the same, but I tried to take the shots at similar places. Kind regards Manuel

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knows if the Saitek range of flight instruments (radios; switch panel etc.) will work with FLIGHT? I'm guessing the throttle quad and yoke/pedals work fine... Any editing of xml files needed? Just won't work as the controls aren't mapped (yet)? I'm hanging out for it all to use with FSX and have cleared a space in my home office for them..be great to be able to use in FLIGHT, too Thanks!

Is there already a thread that discusses the Flight .cfg file and ways to tweak it to improve performance? There isn't one stickied and I couldn't find one by searching. Does anyone know exactly which settings "Scenery Quality" affect? I've been running "Scenery Quality" on maximum since Flight's release. The first time I fired up Alaska, I had pretty low (single digit) FPS over dense autogen areas (forests, Anchorage, etc...). I tried turning down all the usual culprits (Scenery Density, Textures, Sharpness, etc...) but found the only setting that improved performance was lowering Scenery Quality to High. The description of what this changes in the options me…

Here are a few of my favorites: http://www.airnav.com/airport/PALR/ Chandalar Lake Airport http://www.airnav.com/airport/PAWB/ Beaver Airport http://www.airnav.com/airport/PASC/ Deadhorse Airport

Ok, that was fun. inverted with no power, rolled over, restarted and landed in open water. Running on the surface at full power I could hold about 56 kts. Held it for about 5 miles and then popped the flaps and just lifted off. And this is not even the big tundra tires. Now I am really going back to Alaska, just had to warm up.

We are talking about the Iditarod - Dogsled race from Anchorage to Nome. The race starts the first Saturday in March, so the 2012 race is over. But, you can adjust the time in FLIGHT, so why not fly the support flights that the Iditarod Air Force flies to support the racers. They even have their own website: dogflying.com I flew into Rainy Pass and it was a blast. (the airport is right on the edge of the lake) I'll be spending my time flying the Iditarod route. At least till they come up with aerocaches for Alaska

Just to pick up a aerocache I had missed, Kamohio Bay on Kahoolawe. Must say it was nice seeing some color again. But now back to Alaska again to see what kind of trouble I can get into now. Hawaii, I shell return.

Any one else seen one of these? I'm guessing it's the Fairway Rock, which I spotted on a flight out to the Diomede Islands... From a distance it looked like a ship - but the 'wave' was pretty cool too... :)

I've trashed a half dozen Carbon Cubs now trying to get a feel for it, especially the STOL characteristics. Without a VC you also don't get the check lists. Does anyone know the ref speeds for this particular beast?

For those that have Alaska, how do you like the Carbon Cub? Can it take off in super short distances like in some of the videos posted on here prior to announcement of the Cub? How does it handle? I know it doesn't have a cockpit, and that upsets me, but if a deluxe version was offered someday, I'd like to know how well it flies too before getting it.

  25. My system was strongly spec'ed when I built it almost 5 years ago; today - not so much. But Flight used to be perfectly smooth for me, with all visuals set to High. (Pushing textures and terrain up to max did introduce occasional stutter.) Now, after the update which you can't refuse, I'm seeing a slide-show :-( I don't know how I can measure the actual frame rate (the game engine does not display it, does it?), and I could not compare to the frame rate I had previously, but the difference is unmistakable. I can see the terrain move in little increments, so I'm guessing 10 fps max? Not only that, but now there's a significant flicker around some finer objects in t…
