I thought I would see these come up right away, but seems I don't have any. A few Alaska challenges appeared, but that's it. How can I get Alaska Missions and Aerocaches? *Running Steam version, downloaded all DLC this morning from xbox live. Started up Flight when I got home from work. It insalled the 7th of 7 DLC. I exited and restarted Flight to check and still nothing.

Started Flight yesterday and it began with a huge download of an update. Then flew the Stearman, and couldn't throttle back enough to stop it after landing. When I cut the throttle, the needle on the manifold pressure gauge drops to below 10, but the engine hardly slows down at all; just to land I need to pull the throttle all the way back and even then it lands a little hot. I'm using a Saitek throttle, which works fine on other sims. Using the keyboard to reduce throttle doesn't work either.

(*possible spoilers at link*) http://news.microsoftflight.com/blogs/news/archive/2012/07/17/plane-crashes-in-alaska.aspx I thought they were talking about me, but apparently not. I wonder if we can salvage any of these and get them flying again. Don't click the link if you want to discover them for yourself.

I can't figure out what these fog/shadow things are when I'm in IMC. I was doing one of the landing challenges for the RV-6 on friday, the initial ILS one, and it was doing the same thing. It looks extremely odd. I'm sorry if this has been answered before, I tried to look around more than a few times but I could not find any help on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Starting my 3rd day of flying jobs, and I like it. Get's me to fly to airports that I normally wouldn't find, and also shows how long the flight will be, in case a 200 mile flight is too long at the moment. Nice when the co-pilot doesn't get snarky, when a quick descent on final to avoid the trees, and still make the runway, results in a harder landing than I am used to ( to this day I remember by instructor in 1978 telling me to never dive at the runway) . I pick the job, make a flight plan in Plan G, load up and leave. Cool!!!!!!

I loved Hawai'i (although I haven't gone back ... yet!) and one of the things I loved the most was the bridges. So many of them and so much fun to fly under. Haven't found a lot of bridges in Alaska yet. In fact, haven't found any! I guess they use airplanes to get around the State, not cars and roads and bridges. Until I flew down the Yukon River and came across this: Looks like a bridge to me! Although I couldn't really figure out which bridge. There is an "E.L. Patton Yukon River Bridge", supposedly the only bridge to cross the Yukon River, so I imagine this is it. It is supposed to be on the Dalton (North Slope) Highway, but I could be wrong, d…

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned before, but I just started flying in Alaska and I saw that message on one of the loading screens where they have tips and trivia. Another hint of things to come, or did someone forget to delete that message from the list of loading screen messages?

Is there a list of all keyboard commands for Microsoft Flight? Their manual has only the "essential" commands, which don't help me as the engine on the Stearman has stopped and I have no idea of how to start it.

There are low and slow pilots. And there are low and fast pilots. And probably there are high and fast pilots, but not in Flight! :LMAO: At least not yet. Can somebody please explain this to me? I am a low and slow guy. Of course, I love to ogle the scenery and one has to be relatively high to see it. But, there is something very enticing about getting down to ground level when flying. Is it the risk? The adrenalin starts to pump? No, really, that's hard to fathom, since there is no risk in a flight game. Here I am at 75 feet MSL: Obviously, my passengers are usually scared and/or sick. Often both at the same time. At 67 feet. …

The first Alaska aerocache showed up this afternoon. "Stratovolcano", way out in the Aleutians. Got it after a pretty good flight. Glad to see they're back as this is one of my favorite parts of the sim.

I'm having an odd issue with my left toe brake. I can assign the bindings properly in setup, so I know that the software is seeing the correct axis. The right toe brake works as it should. The left does nothing. The rudder control works fine (left and right). I have tried all of the combinations of axis/invert-axis settings I could to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions about how to fix? Thanks!!

Ok, so, I re-installed MS FLIGHT, using my original gamertag. I also bought the "deal of the day" from Steam as a gift for my friend who was using my account. I hope he can get through the Steam/GFWL download/install process without problems... After flying a mission (I was really missing the great Alaska environment...),, I started back a few tests... Yesterday while driving back to my home town I diverted to an aerodrome where a Caravan, a few agricultural aircraft and also a Pilatus Porter are used for various "jobs". It's also the aerodrome where I have logged most of my glider flights. I talked to a fw pilots, a Pawnee operator, the Porter pilot and also the guy …

Hey, I just got bought Alaska and Hawaii but I'd like to know if there's an easy way to make them portable. Basically I'd like to be able to keep them within the game folder or drive but be able to use it on multiple computers (from an external drive) without trouble. Is there a way to do this ? thanks

Took a job today flying some chickens from Ketchikan to Johnson Petersburg. When I got there the wind was from the West about 26 mph, so I decided to use rwy 23 rather than a straight in to rwy 5. As I was turning from a right base to final I noticed these trees sticking up near the end of the runway, quite high. I had a red/white on the Vasi, so I started thinking, I haven't hit one of these trees yet, and I have come quite close, maybe these trees are just a mirage, and they won't be a problem, plus I have got the darn Vasi lights on my side.... So I continued the approach,, The result was ......................................................

I got this from Microsoft and it doesn't make any sense to me. Uninstall: Microsoft Flight Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE Redistributable Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace Delete the following folders (you find them by pasting the following into the start menu): %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Xlive\DLC %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Xlive\updates Then re-download the Client via http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/pc/downloadclient . Then re-download Flight via the Steam link http://store.steampowered.com/app/203850 Thanks, Why would Microsoft want me to go to Steam to get Flight? I'm going to hold of on re-Installing Flight till I find out more from …

Hello Folks, This post is for those who want to learn some more details about Alaska. It is also a great reading while flying! Source: "Alaska: Land and People — Infoplease.com." Haven't been doing any of the jobs , just flying around, but today I did two of them. The second one was a cargo flight of about 200 miles. Nice scenery out of Ketchikan, flying north west to Snettisham Airport ( 7AK2) . The MC who critiqued my landing at the destination had a rather crappy attitude and was a bit harsh in his judgement of my landing skills on that short, narrow, runway. Anyway it was fun, and I am going to be doing some more of them.

Instead of popping around from place to place using the map or doing random jobs as I've done in Hawaii, I decided try out a different way to explore Alaska. I'm going to make one big, continuous tour, deciding my next destination along the way, and stopping in on random airstrips as I go. I don't plan on landing at every single dirt strip or seaplane base, obviously, but I figure that I can hit most of the major stops. Some trips I'll use VOR stations to navigate, others I'll just try to fly visually, some of those dirt strips are pretty small though, and I'll have to use the overhead view or the map. Yesterday I flew around Anchorage, then up to Wasilla (does everyo…
