Have downloaded the update as requested, exited and restarted and the new background sceneries etc are all present but after exiting and restarting Flight ,it comes up with the update available screen again, so I did it again and again. Incidentally if you press the no option for the update it loads but with the original background screenshots. Anyone else had this problem.

Sorry for so many questions, but I am trying to get up to speed ( hopefully) and search is coming up blank on a couple of questions. Any tips on how to see the runway landing the Stearmen? I have tried just about everything I know, and even on a wide runway, I have trouble seeing any part of the runway, which is usually totally blocked out by the fuselage. This has resulted in some of the most spectacular crashes that I have ever seen ( kudos to Flight for dynamic crash simulation) .... Any tips?

  3. Just took a look at the new Marketplace and noticed that there is a section for 'Experience Packs'... it'll be interesting to see what they will release in there... Perhaps they will release experience packs for Alaska as interim DLC instead of cockpitless aircraft (or alternate them)?

I posted this morning that I had purchased Track IR years ago ( version 3) and since I stopped flying FS9 over 5 years ago, I forgot all about it. After I purchased it and used it for awhile but once flying the heavy jets, found it was more of a nuisance than anything so I stopped using it. This morning I was reading about Track IR on this forum, and started wondering if I still had the unit. Looking around, I found a USB cable running up to the top of my computer desk, and there was a Track IR on the other end under some magazines and other clutter. I went to the Track IR website and downloaded the latest version of their software ( version 5 something) and hook…

  5. I've found a bunch of new aerocaches in Hawaii after the update. Some of them are shown on the Microsoft Flight website, choose "My Flight" and then "Aerocaches." If you filter by "None" you'll find five there. There must be others because I found one by accident that wasn't shown on the website. None of these are shown on the Aerocache screen in the game.

What does that mean? Separation between Basic and Deluxe aircraft I can understand. But why there is more separation for Passenger and Cargo aircraft? How can a Passenger or Cargo aircraft be different in terms of basic and deluxe? They will have only partially cockpits specialized for pax and freight? And why are now only Basic aircraft available? No Maule and no Hawaii pack until now, only warbirds.

  8. Hello, I have installed FLIGHT when it was available at Microsoft. I did not use it a lot ... Yesterday I decided to buy the "Hawaii Bundle" As recommended I did create an account on STEAM, Byu the Bundle and downloaded from STEAM. Is this installed? I do no think so ... When I start Flight I do not find the "Hawaii" and the aircrafts.. I am lost. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance.

Having been a lurker for many moons here on AVSIM forums this is my first post. Started out flight sims on the Commodore 64, eventually moved through all of them, still have many of them sitting here on the shelves of the office. Currently have FS9, FSX, Flight, A-10, and all the 1st Gen Third Wire sims installed (albeit not used) Overall, love flight for what (at least I) consider it to be, a great easy way to log some sim time, with few complications and the ability to enjoy some excellent scenery. I have purchased all the DLC so far, cockpits or not. Am wondering if anyone has info on the pending release of Alaska, given that spring has now officially "sprun…

It would be nice to have such an option in MS FLIGHT. It could be limited to just a few minutes, but would be important to watch those crosswind landing techniques under real bad weather..... I believe the reason for it not to have been ported to MS FLIGHT was probably the impact it would have on the overall performance of the sim though...

I've done so many clandestine missions and when it comes to cops there are basically two kinds. Either they appear on your HUD for a second and then vanish, or they appear and stay and eventually catch you no matter what. I have tried a bunch of times but have never been able to get away if they stay on my hud for more than a few seconds. Now I just crash the plane so I can start again. Has anyone ever been able to lose the cops in this situation?

  14. Is anyone using Flight on Windows 8 Release Preview with dual screens? I prefer to have Flight on my secondary display as it runs at higher resolution. When I launch Flight, it comes up on my secondary display, but there is an 3" strip of black down the left side of the screen and the Flight window is off center. I have to go to the Devices slide out pane and choose Second Screen only before launching Flight. Just wondering if anyone else experiences this issue? I assume an nVidia driver update for Windows 8 will probably hopefully fix it.

I did a save on the free flight and did not collect it because I wanted a bigger challenge to use the airplaines instruments to find it. However, what I would like to know is that even though I did use Google Earth as a cheat (?) by copying and pasting the coordinates in its search bar, I did find the spot located exactly in the same direction I needed to go a. What are the steps I need to take to try to find the Ae…

Probably everyone here already knows this, but I flew the Stearman from Pahala Airstrip to Mountain View Airstrip, on the island of Hawaii this afternoon and about 2/3s of the way, I see smoke up ahead and then flames. It was a rather large brush fire blazing away out in the middle of this forest. Very cool.. Have to learn how to take a screen shot now.....

Has anyone else noticed severe stuttering today? Without having changed anything on my system, all of a sudden and for the very 1st time since I installed MS FLIGHT on my PC, it started experiencing stutters on every flight, either Free, Mission, whatever... Preparing for Alaska, and after reading the announcement regarding updates/additional features at MS FLIGHT's site, I noticed no mention to a couple of features I had requested, namely those related to weather modeliing. In Hawaii we have ISA atmosphere. I was never able to find out what temperature we get during day/dusk/night/dawn or between Seasons or Weather themes, but the pressure is ISA. If this is mantained in Alaska, which at least regarding temperature I don't believe it will because they may include low temperatures together with snow precipitation, there is really no big problem with it because the truth is that while many simulators do allow for temp/…

{Cross-posted at other sites} Where can I/we get full size sectional maps of Alaska (and Hawaii)? Since the sheer size of Alaska is going to demand commitment, might as well jump in. FAA? Government Printing Office? I want large ones to put on the wall and stick pins in. With VOR, DME, etc.

  23. Started by Kengi,

Or is it peanut butter in my chocolate? Some want a helicopter in Flight. Some want a twin engine passenger/cargo plane with good range. Now Microsoft can do it with one aircraft. Check out the Large Civil Tilt Rotor program at NASA Ames Research Center. If I can't have a Solar Impulse, I'd like one of these. Yeah, I know, there's the Osprey and a few prototypes out there, but, 90 passengers for 1000 nm at 300 knots!!! If anyone can solve the performance and low speed stability problems with tilt rotors, I figure the NASA Ames scientists are the ones. Also, for this project, the goal is a disk loading of 16 lb/ft^2 (unlike the V22's of almost 21), so it won't…
