I'm going to ask this here, because I don't want to sign up for any other forums just to ask this, and MS support is a PITA to deal with. There seems to be enough knowledgeable people on this subject in this forum, and it sort of pertains to MS Flight. I've had a Windows Live ID (hotmail.com) since 1999, but never had a XBox Gamer tag until the Flight Beta. When Flight was released, I was unable to purchase content because my gamer tag was associated with the USA and I live in Canada. There is no way to change this, and I read in the MS Live support forums you need to create a new gamer tag. I did this, but under a new Live account, associated with my me.com email…

... for simple people! I mean me, as I would never consider the distinguished people on this forum to be simple. But, I enjoy the simple pleasures, and one of them has always been flying under things. And through them. And between them. So, the Aerocache was very tempting. Fly under that structure, pick up the Aerocache on the way, and have lots of fun! Got it, right? Wrong! I crashed! :LMAO: No problem, went up and tried again. And crashed again. So, I tried another time, and another time, and another... Crashed and crashed and crashed. What happened? Did I lose my touch? So, I tried flying under the structure fro…

I should have made a list in paper myself because now, going into that MS FLIGHT site where all of the aerocaches are listed to try and pick new ones, I never know for sure if this or that were already picked by me... Logging into my account I can't find that list either ... Any hint?

I don't really do forums very often, but I wanted to throw this up for anybody who was having trouble like I was. Maybe it'll pull in a few people from Google, too. I've had Flight since it came out in February. It didn't take long for me to get through all of the challenges, missions and achievements, except for one: the Maule Landing Challenge. Specifically, getting gold on challenge 4. There's a lot of tough ones in the Maule, butthis one, where you have to land on the narrow strip on a hill north at Mauna Kea-Honolii, was killing me. Even more than landing backwards for #6, which was at least fun. This one was pull your hair out frustrating. But after spending a l…

Sorry in advance if someone has discovered this before me, as it's quite likely. I was going through Flight's folder in C:\\Users... and I found the Flight.CFG. I was looking through the CFG, and some lines caught my attention: [Traffic] AirlineDensity=0 GADensity=0 RoadDensity=0 ShipsAndFerriesDensity=0 BoatDensity=0 IFROnly=False AirportDensity=0 There you have it! Flight's world will not always be "dead" like it is now. There's gonna be airlines, GA, road traffic and boats! The fact that there's an "IFROnly" entry means that there should be ATC as well! This is exciting stuff for me!

I have found that I can Belly in the P-40 with full flaps and not be kiked out of free flight. I would like to stop the engine but can't do it ( no VC controls ) with out automaticly dropping the landing gear and loosing the flaps. After you slid to a stop the prop just keeps turning. If the "B" botton is pushed the aircraft will pop right back up on it's gear and be ready to go again. Now I have not been able to belly in the P-51, I think because of the air scoop location on the underside.I do not have the Zero or the F4U to try out. The Zero should be easy but not sure of the F4U. Anyway, fun trying.

I just noticed the ESRB rating for Flight warns about "Crude Humor and Mild Violence". Really? I have flipped the bird at my anal retentive cargo master a few times for telling me how to fly my plane, but he doesn't seem to mind. Of course I don't have a Microsoft Kinect, so he can't actually see me doing it. I suppose that could be considered crude, but not really humorous. The program doesn't seem to have a key for pushing him out of the plane from 10,000 feet, so I'm not sure where the mild violence comes in. Did they rate the same program I'm using? When I realized I could walk around outside of the aircraft the first thing that crossed my mind was thi…

I was about to go to bed (around midnite) when a Clandestine mission poped up on the job board. So what the heck, who needs sleep anyway. Very interesting, about 60 miles over open water at around 400 feet. I got trimed up and the power settings pretty good but had to keep a sharp watch on it. Ony had one warning of another aircraft near by but held course with no further problems. Landed at a tiney dirt strip in the middle of nowhere and unloaded the "cargo" . Fun, will have to look for more. Steve A

Hi all. Searched the Internet and couldnt find an answer. I fly with the mouse and was wondering if there is any way to disable the huge white cross I see when the HUD is selected on? (Id like to use it for wind speed and direction). I'm not talking about the little white x that shows where your mouse is but the huge white + straight in the middle of the cockpit. Any config changes I can make? It's almost impossible to fly like that. Or perhaps a shortcut key to turn HUD on and off so I can glance at the wind speed/direction and then turn it off? Thanks for the help guys. Eric

Guys, today I gave a look at the "Two aerocaches today" thread just to find out that it actually contained a few great hints to get aerocaches... Tried the "Sugar Mill" aerocache and yet another precious 3000XPs :-) My suggestion is, if you don't mind, please use this new thread to post any undocumented, or difficult to find aerocache hints that you would like to share with others :-) I have nothing to contribute with right away, but I'll try to find some myself and post it here ;-)

I experienced a curious issue recently, and I'm wondering if others have seen the same. I was trying to do a clandestine cargo mission, but couldn't get the plane to lift of from the starting field. No matter how I trimmed it, or how little fuel I put in, or even if I started as far back as possible from the runway to get a bit of run up, I would only get a few feet off the ground before hitting the treeline. I don't know how many times I tried to do it, with the same result over and over.

I mean, using any of the present airplanes? If a Beaver, or a Twin Otter is added to Alaska, will it be possible? and...btw, now that I have transposed the 500.000XP "barrier" thx to having started flying jobs, I wonder how you can keep your eyes open when flying those long range (200+ NM ) ones???? What's the secret? Cofee???? Lot's of cofee?

So...would it have been very difficult and added much cost to include a static cockpit view in these planes? No, its not a full VC but at least you would feel a bit more immersed in flying the plane. I tried the trick of moving the viewpoint back to simulate the cockpit on the P-51. You can see static gauges etc. with this view so obviously some work was done on creating a cockpit. Seems like it would be fairly easy to implement. Maybe some of the aircraft designers who patrol these forums could address this. Just a thought, -ed

So, flying around in the Stearman in heavy winds, feeling very much like I am kite-flying myself, a bit dismayed after failing a clandestine mission and presumably going to jail for illegal trafficking as I'm sure my character deserves for accepting such a dodgy cargo (and probably will again) I got to thinking.... How did the pilots navigate before VOR stations? How on earth would they have crossed the oceans and known where they were going without receiving VOR signals and cross-referencing maps? Actually, how do they do it now?!?! VOR is line of site, the world is round, and the oceans are....well they are oceans, and not littered with VOR buoys....or are they? …
