The amount of people that like to post negative things about Flight is growing again during the last days. I tried to keep things peaceful here by staying friendly and being as fair as possible (or by locking topics) but that clearly doesn't work, so... 1. Read this once again: You Might Want to Read this Real Close 2. Have you read the above? 3. Posts that fit the description will be removed without ANY notice. 4. Remember: "Continue and you will be banned." 5. If you read a post that fits the description DO NOT react to it, DO NOT tell that person to grow up, DO NOT copy and paste Tom's post as a reply, but ONLY send me a PM and I will take action…

What? An Aerocache placed under a bridge? Those guys at MGS love me, they really do! Nothing could make me happier (well, in Flight anyway...) I have the sensor turned off and I always start the hunt in Free Flight (thanks to Larry for suggesting this.) So, I took off from Pepeekeo and flew up the coast looking for bridges. Found the first and flew under it. Made it through, but no Aerocache. A little ways up, another bridge... Flew under it, but no Aerocache. Next bridge on the list... At last, my Aerocache. But, the fun isn't over yet. Just kept flying up the coast looking for more bridges. No, I got co…

Hi, The Big Suggestion List seems mainly devoted to adding things to Flight, which were intentionally or inadvertently omitted. In fact, if all suggestions were incorporated and Flight was opened up to outside developers and hobbyists we'd have FS11. I've been considering what seem to be deficiencies within Flight as currently implemented. I haven't been able to come up with a very long list but here's what I have so far: intermittent bright flashes within the cockpits, inland water textures that seem more appropriate to the open seas, and jittery edges of cockpit shadows. It seems likely that, until addressed, these will be carried forward to future enhancements…

Dear microsoft: I hope I can be forgiven, that despite all the obvious work you have put into the flight models, I have developed a pronounced dislike of vintage tail draggers. Landing them feels to me like half my vision has been blocked off (with one eye taped closed) and I find it hard to like. Unfortunately, Alaska seems to be the Land O' the draggersTM Reg. U.S. Pat. http://www.bush-planes.com/ As a consolation prize, can I have a copter pretty please? One of these would do. Thanks in advance!

Windows 7 has been stable for me, but Flight has given me some BSOD's. Has only happened a few times, so this is anecdote, not data, but.... Happens in clandestine cargo missions, with the female copilot, just after she says staying below !000' is hard and she hopes I can handle it. The audio stutters, and the system blue-screens. It seems like this started when I replaced a Thrustmaster HOTAS (with noisy pot) with a Saitek X-52 Pro. Anybody else running into this? I'm also wondering about my audio drivers, but I run several audio programs (Sonar, Sibelius, Aria) without problem. No big deal, but I've lost some clandestine cargo :-).

Google is flying planes over cities to generate 3D maps: http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/technology/chi-google-flying-planes-over-cities-for-3d-maps-20120606,0,7276103.story They also supposed revamped their developer's portal: https://developers.google.com/maps/ This SHOULD make things easier for sim developers to integrate that information, and even keep it up-to-date. Hopefully the MS Flight team is keeping an eye on this.

  9. They question three-point landings with the Maule, those that are closer to real/perfect make them wonder "?"... They don't complain if we touch down with the main, and then the tailwheel... Well.... :-(

I've been telling others and even loading it on their machines when ever possible about Flight. :) While it is usually met with interest when I mention it's free, I'm not seeing many new converts. Certainly not paying customers. Gamers that I know, involved with the typical shooters with intense graphics / sound, Flight was just didn't seem to hold interest for long. Non-gamers, gave it a go but seem just disinterested in spending time on the PC other than for work, internet, email, etc. A couple serious FSX'ers I fly online with tried it for a couple days but were very unimpressed. I wont repeat their comments Casual FSX'ers like myself are happy to sw…

This isn't MS Flight related, but I've been fascinated by watching the progress of the Solar Impulse on it's international flight, and thought if you haven't already been watching yourself, you should check it out: http://live.solarimpulse.com/ OK, I'll make this MS Flight related. Wouldn't it be SO cool if this plane were to be made available in Flight?

  13. Hi, All,As corinaco said, if you unpack .pak files, you could find all the similar things and structure with what we have in FSX.So we believe that MS Flight has a lot of extentions in future. What I worried is the cost of each DLC, appreatly, current price is too high. And another worry is MS Studio can let third-party developer publish DLC, e.g. PMDG? Proof for the content.

  14. So recently I have been looking to "Mod" Microsoft Flight. I have found a folder called "CoreContents.pak" with heavy Curiosity, I extracted it and found all the source files for Microsoft Flight!!! I found the Simobjects folder and saw most of the planes there are extremely formatted differently. I am looking in to painting planes actually seeing that there is no aircraft.cfg and there are certain texture X folders. Very sloppy and unorganized post but I anted to get something that would probably be game-changing out there.

ok... I'm sorry, but this is just taking the mickey. Paying for an 'exclusive' paint scheme? Price isn't up yet - in fact it's still too soon to be in the marketplace, but it's on the Flight start screen.

  16. Hi people, hope this place is friendly, just wondering if some kind sole could help a gal out. Just purchased the Hawaii package etc. and have been experimenting with the Maule, really like the cockpit and I'm getting used to the various instruments. I've done a couple of cargo jobs but I seem to be experiencing a problem. Whenever I attempt to take-off, my aircraft (Maule) always pulls to the left during it's run-up? What am I doing wrong? It's getting quite frustrating now as it is happening everytime. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you! Liz.

I'm being serious here, not really meant to be used for criticizing the release of yet another cockpitless airplane! I mean, does the FM feel good? Is there a noticeable torque on takeoff? How about dives/top dive speed? Service Ceiling (it lists as being 41.500ft)? Does it have folding wings?

Well, according to microsoft the f4u is the last warbird... So would that make Alaska next on the DLC list? It seems like with the warbirds in hawaii theme, they could do " bush flying in alaska" and release vc-enabled planed for a couple months =) seems the most likely. Does anyone know any more about all this?

http://www.zenoswarbirdvideos.com/F4U.html Great recreation in MS FLIGHT.... The details that could not be used given the absence of a cockpit, proper rudder and aileron trim controls, etc... are ironed out by the FM, but if one assumes a properly operated aircraft, the feeling replicated by this last WWII DLC is simply great, up to that unfamous tendency to drop the right wing and enter a spin... The huge torque effects are also very well reproduced. Great addition!!!!

Just some general comments here and all, of course, just my opinion... I'm amazed at some people's expectations for MSFlight (and games in general). A lot of people really do seem to want the moon on a stick. People seem very happy with the vast improvements in framerate and general performance that Flight offers (particularly vs FSX); and rightly so. No more buggering about with bufferpools. The scenery we do have (admittedly limited) seems much more accurate and detailed than the standard autogen we're used to. Similarly, the aircraft we have (again, limited) are much slicker and refined than the stock craft we're used to, the VC views in particular. And…
