Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

  1. Hi all! Let me describe a huge issue I'm having with my trusty Saitek Rudder Pedals (yes the old ones, not the 'new' Logitech ones). Everytime I plug the pedals in Windows gives doesn't recognize the pedals and gives the Device Descriptor Request Failed Code 43 error. Interestingly, this issue started a few months back after moving to another house and replugging all my devices after setting up my desktop again. Suddenly the pedals gave this error. However, the pedals DID work when plugging the rudder pedals in via the USB hub on the Saitek yoke. They did not work when plugging them into any other hub or directly on my motherboard's USB ports. Now, recently afte…

  2. Hi verybody, First post on the forum and back to simming after a wooping 10 years hiatus ! Super excited to join the community ! As the title says, I have an issue with my newly delivered Logitech(/Saitek) X56 hotas. Bear in mind I'm basically a newbie here. I am using Aerosoft's A320 family (professional version) in conjunction with the X56. Basically, my problem is that when my throttles are in the idle position (far back) after having use them, the throttle in the cockpit are somewhere near 25% N1. The only way for me to reduce power is to press F2 and/or F1, which kinda goes against the whole point of using a throttle. I have pretty much no joyst…

Hi everyone, I'm having serious calibration problems of the Flight illusion flap guage with the PMDG 737 NGXu: I have correctly installed the FTDI driver and the Simulator Control Program; as I have already inserted in the Options.ini file of the PMDG the line [SDK] EnableDataBroadcast = 1 However I can not in any way, not even following the correct calibration procedures to make the needle of the gauge follow that of the pmdg (for example if I select on the pmdg flap 1, in the gauge it goes up to flap 2 beyond ..) Some idea? Thanks in advance

  4. Hello to all once again from Ron AKA The Blind Pilot. I would appreciate some help in trying to find a two stick hand held controller and some USB rutter petals as well. I know it's a long shot, but would like something that would support force feedback ansd also work in the win 10 64 bit processor world as well. Looking for a USB device that would work with as many hand to ear coordination games and as well with the program FSX and it's successor the new fs 2020 project as well as a hand to ear military flight simulator called Three D Velocity. If you go to: www.github.com Create a free account, you should look for Three-D Velocity and be ab…

  5. Just bought the Thrustmaster T.16000M and HOTAS, I'm running Prepar3d 4.50 on Windows 10 home. The instructions for the joystick stae that windows will find and install the driver. The throttle instructions say to download the driver and its windows custom control panel ftom the Thrustmaster site. The above is seperate from the TARGET software which I'm trying to avoid using. Can anyone who has this setup advise please?

Just to start this off - I have contacted the manufacturer (MFG) about this issue. I have also gone through all necessary steps in order to solve this issue but none have worked such as USB power management etc. As for the issue - when starting P3D V4.3 or sometimes when halfway through a flight my MFG rudder pedals will disconnect and reconnect and vise versa continuously which eventually causes an ntdll ctd with P3D. Is there any reason why my pedals should be disconnecting? I have tried connecting the usb cable into the computer & external usb ports without a fix.

I would like to introduce the rudder pedal and yoke that I developed. I have now created a start-up company, based in Switzerland, to sell these products under the market name of FlyHirundo. Hirundo is a family of birds the best known is probably the barn swallow. The rudder pedal in now finished and the yoke is in the final stage of development. I would like to discuss technical aspects in this thread, to explain some special technical features, and get feedback in this forum. It was agreed with the Avsim administrators/moderators to avoid commercial discussions. In this thread I will show the rudder pedal, and I will open another thread for the yoke. The rudder …

Hi guys, I have a Saitek ProFlight Yoke that I've had for quite a while. Never had any problems with it. I just noticed recently that there's a pretty big dead zone when turning left. There is no dead zone turning right. I had it calibrated through P3D and then calibrated it through a registered version of FSUIPC (with the joysticks disabled in P3D) and it does it in both cases. It's not horrid or anything, it is certainly usable, but it's a bit annoying. Any thoughts on causes or solutions? Thanks!

Hello AllNot sure if this is the right forum, But it’s Go Flight GF 46 modules. Ive just purchased two. Of them from E Bay , not sure if I’ve been. fiddled out of money. I already have two GF 46 , They have a double rotating knob on the right hand side, on knob on top of the other. This new one has just one rotating knob on the right. I seems slightly spring loaded , does it do two functions by pressing the knob or have I been sold a really old GF 46 . Secondly i can’t get it to work. All plug in, Open the go flight configuration program, it appears there ok with the rest of my modules, Click on it and the models lights up. You can enter the 6 func…

Hi, I am just getting started with flight simulators. I have a logitech extreme 3D pro joystick and I am having some problems. I am wondering if they are a normal part of flying a simulator, or if I just have to practice more, or if a different controller would be more realistic and not have these problems. Problems: It is hard to keep the plane from rolling slightly when I am trying to fly straight and level. When I use the stick for pitch or roll it is hard to prevent inadvertent yaw caused by twisting the joystick. The joystick resists movement and returns to the center position unless I keep constant pressure on it. This makes it fatiguin…

So, I have my new setup with P3D v4.5, a few Orbx products and REX. Now I have issues with my Saitek X52 pro, it worked fine on my old Windoze 7 pc with DSX and P3D V2, on my latest setup the aircraft continually pitches nose up and I can't resolve it. I've considered FSUIPC but I don't think I will ever get my head round it. Can anyone talk me through calibration either through P3D or Windoze (10). If all else fails as my x52 is 10 years old or thereabouts I am prepared to replace it, just what with? againgsuggstions appreciated. Gweebarra

  12. Hey Guys. I use this throttle and have the button when throttle is pulled back mapped to reverse thrust like many of you also do. I notice when I launch P3DV4 it usually starts up with reversers activated. Not a big deal, but is there a way to have it just be at idle?

Hi all, I would like to ask this question to the Yoko/Yoko+ owners as I am currently considering to purchase the Yoko+. My question is regarding the long-term effectiveness of the bungee coords. What is your experience with their performance? Do they return the yoke to the same position every time, even after months and years of everyday usage? Also, I saw the review of Austin Mayer for the Yoko+ where he was mentioning a higher friction on the elevator shaft than ideal. He mentioned that the yoke wouldn't settle to the exact same position neceassarily. What is your experience, Yoko/Yoko+ users? Your feedback would be very helpful.

Hi, Just joined the group. I can't wait to get back to the flight simulator and the new 2020 version on my PC. Up to now I just used a simple joystick. I'm looking at purchasing the Honeycomb Alpha Flight Controls Yoke & Switch Panel, the BRAVO THROTTLE QUADRANT when it's available. The Thrustmaster TFRP Rudder, all mounted on the Wheel Stand Pro S. I'm not sure if the Honeycomb will mount on this stand though. Anyway looking for guidance. I'm figuring now is the time to buy and be ready for MSFS 2020! Thanks, Phil

  15. Hi Folks, If this is the wrong forum someone please move it. My old headset with a USB connection bit the dust, and I bought a new one from Thrustmaster couple days ago. It has 2 pins that plug into the front of the computer. When plugged it triggers the ASUS mobo thing called "SupremeFX". I am not sure what to do with it. I want all sounds other than voice to come through the speakers, and voice only [ATIS] through the headset. I can't figure out how to do this. Opening sound in P3D doesn't give an option for the headset, and neither do i see it in Win10 sound adjustment. Can anyone suggest a solution? If it won't split sound unless its USB I will have to …

Hello, I'm on my second Saitek type yoke and throttle as the first one branded Cessna wore out. This throttle has poor control resolution it seems to me and recalibrating thru something like FSUIPC doesn't help as I'm pretty sure the poor resolution is in the hardware. With the Emb Phenom 300 I see I can only get 0.5% increments when what's called for is 0.1% resolution. What's a crazy person need to spend for something with far better feel and behavior (finer resolution if that is possible) than the Saitek or CH products offer? I don't need pedals or any other hardware just the next tier up in yoke/throttle w/ programmable buttons. Thanks in advance.

  17. I posted this earlier today over at On The Glideslope, but thought it might be useful in the archives here, too. BFG *** If you have Saitek panels that don't seem to be working correctly, don't download new drivers. Make sure there's enough power to the hub. If you have Saitek FIPs that aren't loading, don't mess with SPAD or SPAD.neXt. Make sure they're not all plugged into the same hub. If you have a Saitek yoke that's not registering, make sure it's in a USB 2.0 hub. If you have a Saitek radio panel that's dropped out for some reason, run turn the power management off on the USB hub. Basically, if your Saitek stuff isn't working right, the first stop sh…

Can any one help me on where or how to find one ?? Someone had mentioned the boneyard but I don’t know where or whom to contact to arrange the process, is there a specific website for such thing or possibly online sellers. Please let me know if you guys might know something. Thanks, Sam

So I just purchased one of these systems used for a price I was comfortable with. It's this one here: https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/flight/flight-simulator-yoke-system.html#945-000023 So far I do enjoy it far more than using my joystick. I have it paired with the throttle quadrant and I also have a button box for other controls, mostly ignition switches and autopilot. I use this mostly because I also have a VR headset and I know the button box quite well by touch, no need to see it. Anyway, back to my issue. The yoke came with the buttons on the right side in non working order (I knew this going in but the price was still right). T…

So I know this is probably a longshot but hopefully someone might be able to help. So I use the Thrustmaster X joystick from Logitech and have the controls setup in P3D so that the rudder control is set so when I twist the stick it moves the rudder . Recently I started having an issue where the joystick detects movement from this axis even when I am not touching anything. In the sim this causes problems especially when trying to taxi or fly manually as the plane will constantly be trying to yaw to the right or turn to the right when on the ground. Now for the most part it isn't a huge problem since I can still do the flight and mostly fly with autopilot but it gets annoy…

  21. Years ago I purchased the Saitek yoke and throttle quadrant. With this bundle, the throttle quadrant connects to the yoke with a mini din (looks like a ps2) connector. I just purchased the Honeycomb yoke and want to still use the Saitek throttle quadrant. I purchased a ps2 to usb converter, but not having any luck. Any ideas as I do not want to purchase another Saitek usb throttle quadrant because I am waiting for the Honeycomb one to come up. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello, I just grabbed one of these Saitek X52's (I think it's the Pro version?) but I'm having trouble programming the thing. I use the POV Hat 1 for looking around but it only can look horizontally. So I "Want" to program the Fire C button as the vertical Look Down button which is Shift + Num5 on the keyboard. But when I program that into the Saitek, it just blips the view then goes back to normal (forward) view in less than a second. Is there any way to program the button so it works like the other 8 Look Around directions on the POV1, except that it looks straight down? Thanks

  24. Hey folks. I'm tempted to finally invest in a yoke, coming from the saitek garbage. I'm not looking to spend a terrible amount of money and the honeycomb caught my eye. Seems to be right in the price point I've been looking for and it seems like quality from some reviews I've read. Im wondering what the real world folks think that are using it. Also - wondering what might be the best place to pick one up. I saw a few sites linked on their page but I haven't done business with any of them to know how reputable they are. I'm in the states (NYC). Thanks!

Hi all and apologies if this question has been answered !! I currently use a Saitek X52 which I have had for years and its a great stick and throttle combo. Recently however I've had an itch for a new HOTAS specifically one with a split throttle quadrant …. I almost went for the Logitech Rhino but I've since read so many bad reviews I've written it off which is a shame because it looks great ! The Thrustmaster does look superb but at £400 its probably out of my price range.... I remember reading about another company that I did look up but they were always out of stock... Cant remember the name now but they did look good... So is there anything else on the mark…
