Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

  1. EI have the CH Products Yoke and Pedals currently running natively in FSX/SE. under Windows 10. I am not using the CH Products Control Manager. On the instruction manual package, there is a sticker that says THIS DEVICE DOES NOT REQUIRE INSTALLATION SOFTWARE. I want to configure the quadrant to fly twin GA A/C. I assume I will have to load the Control Manager? IE Disabling the yoke throttle, prop, and mixture controls... Please advise. THANKS!

Thinking about getting the Flight Velocity flight panel. I have the CH Products Yoke and Pedals. I don’t think there is away to retrofit the CH Yoke via the cutout for the yoke. I know I will have to purchase the Saitek / Logitech Yoke and Throitle combo, but would like to keep my CH pedals. The other issue is the height above my gaming table. I’ll have to raise my 55” Samsung curved TV. I was hoping to install some clamps to the panel so I could lower the flight panel about 4-6 inches. Not sure if that is feasible. Any feedback from current users of the Flight Velocity Flight Panel would be appreciated. Also comparing the Saitek / Logitech y…

  3. Greetings! Set your clock back 100 years for this question.....sort of. I have been flying RedBaron3D online for about 22 years. I recently purchased by suggestion a Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas One. So far, even parking the programming files in Startup, I lose the button profile. So each Saturday, it takes about 3 minutes to reset it for our Saturday 4PM EST RB3D we have been playing every weekend for 12 years. I stuck a paperclick in a button slot to keep it from activating due to it being near my right hand index finger knuckle operating my trigger. Otherwise, for this game, that one button could not be reprogrammed from dropping a bomb with each touch...…

I have been using X56 for a little over 6 months now both with FSX and P3Dv4.5. The system is working great for me except for one thing. I cannot fly inverted or do a smooth aileron roll. Surely there are X56 users in the forum that have tried these maneuvers with the X56. If someone could please respond and let me know what happens when you roll your plane over I would really like to hear from you.

Greetings all, This issue is not unique. I have seen it posted in multiple forums (through Google searches). Many of the posts gave conflicting information and were very dated (circa 2008). A search on this forum yielded nothing (although I may have missed something). I am using Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals (and Yoke / Throttle quadrant FWIW). The button assignments are currently through FSUIPC. The calibration is through FSX. I have previously calibrated through FSUIPC, but there was an issue (I believe) with Windows. If I recall correctly, I had to recalibrate and even re-assign the whole setup each time I booted up Windows. Moreover, Pete Dowson at FSUIPC said that…

  6. Hi everyone, Twoo weeks ago I purchased the Oculus Rift, the immersion is realy good! But I'm also a real life student pilot, I started last year my PPL flying lesson (that I took in pause because I had some troubles) but when I was flying and the air was turbulent, I was quickly sick, so here is my first question, do you think (or know somebody) that was sick or taken by motion sickness and who with the help of a motion simulator + the VR headset was helped to be more resistant against turbulent air in real life? This is my main question, because if thanks to that combo I can resolve my problem of being sick quickly, to be honest even if that cost me the half of my …

  9. Hello all, In January of this year, I had finally saved up enough spare change to afford something on the low end of a much better yoke for my flight simming: The ACE flight yoke. I did my research on the company, and I had heard both positive and negative things, but it seemed all in all to be legitimate (if slower than advertised to deliver the product) and it was the only such product I could find that I could afford. I had been talking with the company through their primary means of contact, Facebook, for several months asking questions and seeing what was possible. They had been very responsive and helpful in their answers. I finally made the comm…

  10. Hello, Searching for a few days now to figure out how to synchronize HoneyComb switch states (BCN, TAXI, NAV, STROBE, LANDING) to Prepar3dv4 (Any Aircraft). I have latest FSUIPC installed and came across several references of using LUA Scripts to get this done. Simply put, when starting up in any aircraft I'd like for the SIM to read the switch states of the controller so they stay synchronized. This works OK with the LANDING LIGHTS because there is a landing light OFF and ON in FSUIPC, however you have to flip the switch when starting up in order for it to sync. I'm thinking that a LUA Script would work to read the state of the controller, and then set the sim…

  11. Tomorrow I will get my hands on my investment into some good Rudders/Brakes, replacing my Saitek ones. I will report my findings for anyone interested in them. Hopefully, they will last me years and having a Thrustmaster Warthog am looking forward to having all my braking, rudder movements taken care of in the same amazing way. Have a look here if you have never heard of them. (Modes the video has no adult content)

I just bought Forza Horizon 4 and there doesn't seem to be any way to make it recognize my Thrustmaster T16000M and so it makes me wonder: Will MSFS give me the same trouble? Will I be required to purchase an Xbox controller to fly MSFS? P.S.: Is there even a manual for Forza 4? there is zero help available. I'd appreciate help if you can give it.

  13. Hello all, I have had a problem that has plagued me for the past few weeks. I have 3 Saitek panels, the switch panel, multi panel, and radio panel. When I plug these into the computer, they all don't get recognized. I am sure they all work because I can plug them into another computer and they power up + get recognized fine. Right now, I am using a 4 port USB hub powered by a 2A power adapter, meaning each port even if fully maxed out can still get 500mA, so power should not be an issue at all. Additionally, I have tried all tricks including registry edits for power enhancement, running the USB Enhanced Power Manager Disabler program , installing/reinstalling any nec…

  14. Started by HarryVoyager,

So, getting into GA flight sims, and trying to use my CH Flight Yoke with it, however I'm finding it has a distinct tendency to some off of my desk, particularly during periods where I'm using a good bit of backforce. Landing was fun.... Has anyone else had issues with that, and what sort of things people did to fix it? I'm wondering if it is because my desk has a bit of a lip on the underside, and I'm wondering if the clamp is simply rolling off of it under pressure. Thank you, Harry Voyager

  15. So we just moved from carpet to hardware in the room where I fly my sim. Immediately I have an issue. I currently have no way to anchor my chair, so I am rolling backward on an unintended basis. I have found quite a number of casters for gaming, but they all adapt chairs for carpet with no chair mat underneath. Oddly, they provide for easier movement on carpet vs standard casters. I have the opposite problem. I doubt I am the first to encounter this issue of a hard surface floor. Can anyone recommend brand/model of quality caster wheels that have locks/brakes/ or adjustable friction?

  16. What are all the possible places that could be outputting a switch/button command. I am trying to program a button on the yoke. Call it button A. I want button A to execute command A. So I push button A and action A is implemented. HOWEVER, not only is Action A implemented, but so is Action Z. So I look in all the places I know of in which you can set up a button action. They are: 1 FSX Program, Settings, Controls 2 FSUIPC 3 Honeycomb Yokeinput 4 LINDA FSX Settings, Controls lists Button A in the Joystick Box for Action A. Its Joystick Box for Action Z is empty. Items 2, 3, and 4 show NO sign of Button A listed. Comments / Suggestions?

  17. Hey guys, I know this is a new product and it may be improved somehow by firmware updates from the manufacturer - but I could not wait on this and I know many as well will want better performance out of the box from the axis controller in the Alpha. It appears that to many this product has a large firmware dead zone - and at the very least, it did to me. For those who want a guide on how to slave the X and Y axis controls to an Arduino due please see my video below. I did put a lot of work into this so I would appreciate if it stayed up. The first video is a demonstration of the behavior, and the second is the modification video to fix it.

Shalom and greetings all my pals, My 7 year old laptop although in mint condition has two or three keyboard buttons including letter L that are no longer operable due to age (not due to any dirt). Is it doable to program and change from number 5 to letter L in numerical pad on right side of my laptop keyboard layout??? If so, how do I do that, please? Thanks, Aharon

Hello! I use the saitek MFDs for most of button assignments with p3d and LINDA. Now one of the mfds is going to die slowly (weird blinking and buttons disconnecting, sometimes not working) I wanted to look around what others are using... I also use saitek multipanel and the switch panel. I mainly look for a ton of buttons, preferrable working with LINDA, easy to assign. Thank you

I've received news from Honeycomb about their forthcoming Alpha Yoke and Bravo Throttle Quadrant. The yoke will be available to view at the Lelystad Flight Sim show in early November. It won't be connected to a PC but nevertheless should give potential customers a good feel for it. PFC have been involved in its design and with a five year warranty it looks to be a quality unit. You can see more details of both units here:- http://flyhoneycomb.com/

Hi everyone! I currently have a Saitek X52, however, I am looking for something smaller as I needed to downsize in desk. I would like to get a new joystick that has a small throttle within the joystick so that it is small. I know this is not what I want but due to space that's what I need. Any recommendations?

  23. Started by HC1Gunner,

I have a Flight Stick Pro, Pro Throttle, and Pro Pedals which all worked great, up to about 6 - 9 months ago when Win 10 updates did the number on the CH Software, and basically it no longer works. To me without being able to use the Control Manager software to remap buttons, the throttle and joystick are about worthless. I was just wondering if anyone else own CH Products controllers, has issues with Win 10, and has any know fixes. I really hate to go out and buy new flight controllers of different brand, but I need something, like everyone, I'm super excited about FS 2020, and can't wait for its release. When I contacted CH they were not very helpful, I think …

How do most simmers control the nose wheel steering while taxiing around the airport? Rudder pedals, keyboard controls from the knee pad? I use CH rudder pedals along with a Honeycomb flight yoke. Prior, I used a Saitek joystick which allowed me to turn fairly easily on the ground and around the parking areas. P3DV4. Thanks in advance for your help! John

  25. Hi Folks, I've just bought a used CH Throttle Quadrant and have been struggling for days to calibrate (with reverse thrust) with FSUIPC. I got a copy of John Cooks "Configuring FSUIPC with the CH USB Yoke, Rudder Pedals and Throttle Quadrant. version 1.10". He explains that I have to set up an output range for the detent position. Fine and good, makes sense. So I set my full back position value and full forward position value in FSUIPC. But when I go to set the values for the detent position, the input and output values remain at the full back position values until I move past the detent. This occurs with all 6 levers. So in essence the "detent position" i…
