Now that we know the release date, I seriously need to look into a new desktop and new peripherals. I've been out of the flight sim business for a while, so I'm a little lot and would appreciate any help. Out of this list of compatible peripherals, which one(s) would you recommend? I'm mostly a GA flyer as I do not tend to have the time (unfortunately) to get into complex systems. https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015204020

All, I thought I'd share a fun project that's improved my ability to practice flight in sim a bit closer to reality. I've build a small panel for throttles/flap controls and recently added pitch and yaw trim. The base (when in desktop mode) is walnut - or the base can be removed and the wheel panel mounted. The encoder is a bit overkill but the "extra" resolution dramatically improved my ability to fine-tune and trim out in level flight. I'm making a run for some friends and a local training center.. any suggestions on the final version would be appreciated it! A bit torn if I should machine the trim wheel and mounting block from aluminum. https:…

Not a good week for me and Flight Sim controllers. My Go Flight GF Pro Yoke system that I bought a couple years ago decided to die on me. It appeared that the USB connector had come loose from the circuit board. Attempted reaching Go Flight and received no response. Called and emailed again today. I ended up ordering a new plug and soldered to the board. Still doesn't work. I went on Go Flights Website and the yoke isn't offered anymore. I now have a $750 paperweight. Does anybody have any ideas how to get e new circuit board or get Go Flight to respond? I honestly feel the company is out of business or going out of business and I'm stuck.

I posted below about my dead Go Flight Yoke. It took multiple times to get them to respond. Finally got a response on FB messenger telling me to email their tech dept. I did. No response. Messaged on FB messenger again and finally today got a response back. They say they have circuit boards but no resistors or chips available to install on the boards do to Covid. I asked for the board and schematic and I would source the resistors and chips to install. Crickets, yet they are taking orders still..... Before Covid they looked like they were on life support. Nobody has any inventory, their social media pages are crickets. Their forums are silent. I spent $750 for a pa…

Does anybody know the screw size for the throttle quadrant? I purchased a used cessna pro flight yoke and throttle quadrant on ebay recently, and while it has the mounting hardware, the screws for the throttle quadrant bracket are missing. Unfortunately, none of the random screws in my toolbox happen to fit, and I can't get an accurate reading from my calipers in the width or thread size because it's too small to fit. I also searched for any technical documentation on the throttle quadrant but couldn't find anything on the screws or holes. Themselves.

I have a Honeycomb yoke attached to an X-Plane 11 system. Seems to get the basics of Cessna 172 flight control about right, maybe a bit sensitive. The left handle of the yoke has a couple of rocker switches, vertically positioned. In X-Plane, Settings:joystick lists out the possible switch-to-flight control associations. For the left-hand switch, Item 5 is Rock Up, Item 6 is Rock Down. I associated 5 and 6 with Pitch Trim, Mechanical not Servo. My first inclination was to match Switch designation with Pitch change direction, i.e. Switch Up, Pitch Up. Nice ring to it, easy to remember. But in flight, I mentally reached for the trim wheel, and rotated it properly--which is …

Hi, I'm building a Diamond DA40 mock up for use with P3D in a VR sim. As the finished product will be VR based, I'd like the real world feel and operation of the throttles etc to be as close as possible to those of the real aircraft i.e., parallel linear sliding type (pictured below). There appear to be plenty of the curved (Piper) style throttle quadrants available, but from what I can see no linear type. If anyone knows of a provider/manufacturer of this style, a pointer in their direction would be gratefully received. Many thanks, Herc

Hi Everyone I decided to buy this after few months deliberation and on line research. I hope someone can help me with few issues. I use it for p3dv4.5 The 3 positions on the rotary switch, number 32, 33, 35 aren't working. I checked on the window 10 controller property and these do not show. I have emailed Honeycomb and I am waiting for a solution. Does anybody else have this issue with windows 10 and p3cv4.5? 2nd issue is the stiffness of the pull push action. I find this requires a lot of force. Every user seems to be saying this and there does not seem to a solution. Can you please advise if this gets better with usage-hop…

Looking forward to MSFS 2020 what would be a good (not tooo expensive) HOTAS or Stick controller. I had the X52 and F.L.Y. 5 for years and prefer a single stick like the F.L.Y. 5 which I could program to my liking. However I don't think it can be purchased anymore. Any Ideas? Thanks bs

I have a setup with FSX using VRinsight Airbus FCU, Saitek Joystick and Saitek Quadrant with a GOFLIGHT LGT11 to fly Aerosoft Airbus A320 My problem is I cannot get the LGT11 to work consistently I have the GoFlight config and the PollyPot Goflight Interface module. I load the configuration saved in Goflight Config then open the Interface Module which seems to work ok, but, the LGT11 does not work. The joystick, throttle and FCU all work ok I would appreciate any help

Hello. In all likelihood I am not the first Simmer to ask this question, please be lenient with me. I would like to read a LUA script, in which functions for an aircraft are stored, in FSUIPC and then access these functions by means of button assignment. If I copy this script into the Module folder of the P3D, it will appear in FSUIPC, but I can not access the functions: P3D-Modules folder with ec135.lua script FSUIPC.ini LUA-Script entry Button-Menu in FSUIPC My question: must be in the module folder next to the LUA script more LUA files? So I have to download LUA from somewhere and do a "LUA installation"? So f…

Hello world, hope you all doing great, I wanted to start a 737 TQ project for my home cockpit, but the qustion that came to my mind is what shall i use for the motorized part, as i know, for the throttle we need a potentiometer to detect the levers positions, but the potentiometer will not make the throttle move, and if we put a small steeper motor the lever position will not be detected (not sure**), in your opinion guys what should i use so it can become motorized. Hello I have been really interested in building my own free head tracking gear. I thought i finalized the deal yesterday but encountered some serious issues with camera failing to focus on LEDs only. I previously put a thin layer of old photo films ( was a totally opaque thing) and it didnt work. I then removed that thing and using camera without any visible light filter. Also i realized that the dimensions of the track clip was totally wrong. I just did a random cut to resemble the real thing. i actually dont even know that if it's an issue or no. Here are some pictures below of what i did so far. currently im not using any visible light block…

Hey guys, so i finally broke down and spent the 250.00 and bought the new Honeycomb Yoke. But i can't get it to work in FSX with FSUIPC to setup the switches like i did with my Saitek yoke. No matter what i do i can not get the switches to change from the default. When i push the push to talk button it releases the emergency brake, when i move the left top sliding switch for the trim, it works the flaps and so on. So i was trying to assign the push to talk switch to do nothing, and setup the left slider switches to work the electric trim. But when i assign them through FSUIPC and save and go back to the plane, nothing changed. I called Honeycomb and they said they don't s…

I've been having problems ith a "Ghost Controller", that is a controller that is defined in the "Standard" controller file as a 3 axis 9 button Joystick" but has no physical existence. I have tried deleting the "Standard" file and then running FSX to get the file created anew, and hopefully as there is no physical "3 Axis 9 Button Joystick" then it should not appear in the "Standard" file of controls. Unfortunately this doesn't work. The file is recreated but also includes the "3 axis 9 button Joystick" which shouldn't have been recreated, but has. So I am back to where I started from! The only thing that I have found by digging around is that the Controller f…

I bought my Saitek Pro Throttle plus extra Throttle Quadrant in October 2008. It's behaved well over the years but I now have two axes displaying signs of dirty potentiometers with spiking during part of the travel. I have watched a couple of videos on YouTube and whilst it's fiddly it does appear to be fairly straightforward to clean them with alcohol. Given its popularity I'm guessing many of you may gave cleaned yours. How did you find it and does it solve the problem long term? Apparently Saitek deliberately use low grade potentiometers made exclusively for them so finding a higher quality alternative is impossible. They want you to buy a new throttle a…

Hello to all AVSIM aviators, As you will all probably know, headtracking makes flying much more immersive. For that reason we have created FaceTrackNoIR some 10 years ago and I can assure you: FaceTrackNoIR is still very much alive! Technology evolves fast and this prompted us to start hobbying again and introduce another novelty: face-tracking with your smartphone. With this, you do not even need to buy a webcam and most of you already have a decent smartphone anyway The App (available for both Android and iOS) is called FacePoseApp and all information can be found on www.faceposeapp.nl You can try it for free and if you like it, upgrading the App to full…

I’m ambitious. Tired of Windows seeing neither expensive HOTAS Warthog throttle OR joystick. I asked Leo Bodnar: 1. Simon of the Bodnar USB board folks: Suggested:“We do a 64 button input box, but there’s no analogue, I suggest a BU0836X and bbi-32 Regards Simon - Tech Support” I asked, Simon, wouldn’t one BU0836X for the throttle and one BU0836X for the joystick work? I’m assuming that the Hall Effect acts like a potentiometer, therefor is seen as a analog device, And since the BU0836X appears to accommodate all the …

Hi guys, Some time ago I have bought the Saitek Proflight Yoke in combination with the throttle quadrant. I appreciate the product a lot. Is there a way to get additional quadrant lever heads, so I can create my preferred configuration of throttle, flaps, mixture and prop pitch? I mainly fly the Boeing 737, and I would like to have two separate power levers. With one extra black (throttle) knob, I can make two power levers. I have contacted Saitek about this, but there are no available knobs as spare part. Did anyone else try to get an extra knob?

The non-conventional wiring scheme inside some of the Saitek TQ OEM controller board caused the TQ HE sensor failed to work. This video will identify the problem inside the TQ and provide the solution to restore the HE sensor function. Just in case you are interested in finding out the detail. For my fellow flight simmers from the Blind Pilot. I am loooking for a USB plug and play USB flight deck. Here's what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the Logitech Flight System G940 Flight System package, and or a equal USB package in it's place. It suppose to have the following in the package: A USB Flight Yoke, A USB throttle controller, and a set of petals. If you no longer carry this unit, what is it's successor? Here's why I'm looking for such a package. I'm a blind flight simmer and or gamer who's attempting to enjoy his favorite programs and untie himself from his over worked keyboard. I have a hand to ear navigation Military flight …
