Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etc

I'm in the process of trying to upgrade to a GTX 1070 card (this one) but for some reason it refuses to co-exist with an old PNY GT120 I have in another PCIe slot. If I install one, the other fails (with a generic hardware error 53 showing in Device Manager). The GTX 1070 installs on its own fine. I have tried updating the drivers for each card. I have tried a clean install. I can't think what else to try except just taking the GT120 out. Trouble is, it's for running my GPS and WX radar on two little screens. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Was wondering if anyone might be able to share their experience on running aircraft (in P3D) with a GTN750 using a touchscreen monitor? I have an unused HDMI port on my GTX970 and am considering an Acer UT220 for the GTN750 in windowed mode, using this HDMI port. My system is quite robust so can handle this extra monitor. Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Hello, Recently I had issues with P3D and Windows 10 identifying my main monitor as monitor 1. This was due to me playing around and trialling a 4K monitor. My current monitor set up is, main monitor (For P3D) ASUS 32 inch 2k, second monitor is a run of the mill Samsung 32 TV with just full HD (1080). To get my windows to recognise the 2K as monitor 1 again, I had to reinstall the Nvidia G Force and drivers, I have a GTX 980. However, since doing so I have had an awful constant stutter when panning or moving the camera around. Not your usual loading stutters, but something to do with refresh aspect of things. For those of you observing the Vas leak on latest drivers I can confirm after some testing that the issue looks resolved with 378.72 hotfix. I think also there is a little improving on fps on my side!

Hello, I recently bought a high-end system that includes and NVIDIA Titan X card to run P3D and XP11. I have an older monitor and want to buy a 4K monitor. A couple of questions: - I currently, get great FPS (30-50) with high quality products like PMDG and ORBX. Does the resolution increase that comes with an HD monitor bring down FPS significantly? - What cable should I buy to connect the monitor to the video card? I'm familiar with HDMI, but is P2P the next big thing? Thanks for the help!

I am using 3 asus non hd monitors with 2 980ti gtx cards. I also have a asus hd monitor but i do not use it for fsx or p3d because i cannot get the color correct and the icons and text are too small. When i go to the highest resolution with that monitor i cannot read icons or text and things look very washed out , contract is terrible. My problem is that the asus monitors ..pb278 (non hd - 27" monitors ) ..create textures that are not just not clear to me But maybe its the programs or aircraft or VC . What are the ways that a GTN750 can be used on a touch tablet (mine is a Windows tablet) in P3Dv3 . Looking to be able to have the GTN750 showing on the tablet while flying and be able to enter nav , com freq's etc using touch.... Would I have to install P3D on the Tablet and network it to the PC... ? Thanks aero

Lately whenever I install Nvidia drivers for my GTX 960, I opt only for the Graphics Driver, and sometimes I also install the HD Sound drivers. What might be the best option ? Install the HD sound drivers or leave it be with my Realtek Win 10 drivers ? I just downgraded to 376.33 because of the mentioned quirks with VAS in the vrsions that followed that one.

Just some background.. i have currently have three 24" Asus screens, which I often run P3D at 5760x1080.. which isnt standard res for doing YouTube recordings.. so I often switch to 1080 (single screen) to do those. However, I primarily use the Oculus Rift + FlyInside. I have a 43" UHD from Vizio (non HDR) on my wall in my office where I have my Flight Rig on the desk.. I decided to hook up the 43 to the hdmi and see how it looked.. I was pretty wowed by the resolution and clarity (but not enough to give up VR).. however this UHD doesnt do 4:4:4 Chroma, so PC text wasnt so great. I found the framerate at 3840x2160 to be about the same as 5760x1080 too, I expect…

All of a sudden I cannot install any Nvidia driver without the process stalling or aborting. I have tried DDU (driver cleaner), safe mode and howling at the moon but nothing works.

Everyone seems to be talking about those expensive 4K TV/monitors. I would like to move up from a 27" LG IPS computer monitor to a 40-50 "TV/Monitor. My question is does the 4K really matter with the larger screen size, especially for older pilots with less than perfect vision. I am blind in one eye and have marginal vision in the other so to me I think size would be better than 4K. I have looked at 4K tvs in the store and yes the color looks nicer but some of the 1080 s looked good too If anyone is using a 40-50" 1080 LED TV for their monitor, I would be interested in hearing how they perform. Imagine, I have a middel setting, in whatever flightsim. It gives me 25 fps. The CPU is working hard, but the GPU is waiting for the next image to project to the monitor. Under used. 25 fps Now, the GPU can do much more, and doing shaders, or anti aliassing for free, since its waiting and waiting. 25 fps. Then enabled, I see th fps drop.. why ? why does the CPU slow down in putting out frames (the same it was doing before) and the GPU doing its extra thing cause an effect on the CPU ? 15 fps. ? Puzzled here.. any one with knowledge can shine a light on this behaviour ?
