Hey guys, I am looking to buy one of these monitors. I have a couple questions. 1. Do these monitors support 30hz when creating a custom resolution in Nvidia control panel? 2. How is Track IR usage with these widescreen monitors? 3. Anything else I should be aware of. I am currently using a 28inch 4k monitor. Thanks guys!

I'm going to be asking quite a few questions over the next couple of months as a I research and prepare myself for a new build of my sim. This will be based around a 4k monitor driven by a GTX1080ti and [email protected]. (if funds allow!) My question is, is 49" too big sat 24"-30" away or should I consider a 43" monitor? I don't want to build a rig based on a 43" monitor and then wish I had spent just a little more for a 49". Equally, I don't wish to be sat in front of a 49" screen and find I have issues with it. What issues, I don't know, but hence my question. Advice always gratefully recieved guys.

New avsim member here - last week I installed FSX for the first time on a relatively new i7 computer with 12gb ram. I have two 19" monitors (1280x1024). I am using the on-board (motherboard) video and understand that I can get improved perforrmance by installing a video card. I'm aware that serious simmers use very powerful video cards which are expensive. I am buying a yoke and throttle quadrant this week, and can realistically spend another $100 on a video card. I recognize that a card in this price range won't give the same performance as a high end video card. Still, I would be interested to know if someone has recommendations as to what card i…

So with my meager 980Ti GPU, seems like she is running around 99% when flying pmdg birds in P3Dv4 when at 3rd party airports and on arrival and departure portions of the flight. Goes lower when at cruise. I have that TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP tweak set at 9 and thinking of deleting that and leaving the slider all the way to the right which would be default at 8 and backing shadow quality to low from medium. Reflections are already set to low and I'm on a 4k so no AA set, just MSAA at 8. Water is at high, not ultra and 3D precipitation is off. DL is on due to pmdg lighting. So question is, can the card take that long term or am I on a path to burn it up? Gonna get a newer one…

My 23" 1920x1080 monitor crash landed after many years of service. I'm thinking of replacing it with a 27" 2K 2560x1440 monitor. I have an i7-6700K CPU and an Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 GPU. Good investment or would I be better sticking with standard HD. Thanks

I'm hoping you guys can help me out again with an upgrade. I need to replace my old 24" 1080p monitor soon, and plan on getting an a 30 to 35 inch ultra-wide 1440p or higher monitor. First of all, my GPU is a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming 8GB, and my CPU is an i7-4770K (overclocked to 4.2 MHz), and my memory is 16GB DDR3 @ 2133MHz. I've pretty much decided on a 34-35 inch 1440p monitor, as I've read that this would give me roughly the same text (and other) size as my current 1080p monitor (and I'm concerned that a 4K monitor would be too hard on my flight sims FPS). A curved screen seems like something that I might benefit from (as far as immersion), but I'm not…

Hello everyone, yesterday I received an ASUS Dual GTX1060 6G that I had on order. This would replace my faulty MSI GTX970. I had done research and this GTX1060 is supposed to be better than my 970. I install the card and install all the up to date drivers etc... Then I restart and load up p3d, I loaded up the NGX at Gatwick with UK2000, FTX England, REX soft clouds, REX4 textures and AS16. I am only getting 4-15FPS. Previously with my 970 in this situation I would be getting 30-40fps. I turned some settings down, now I get 5-20fps but it varies massively so it would go 20 then down to 8 so it is stuttering all the time. I then turned everything all the way down …

Hi, I am considering buying the ROG STRIX GTX 1080 TI GAMING (11GB GDDR5X). 1 / I noticed that there are 2 models with seems it the same reference but one at a frequency of 1480 MHz and the other a frequency of 1569 MHz. The latter is a bit more expensive. The two cards are however referenced "ROG STRIX GTX 1080 TI GAMING (11 GB GDDR5X)" How is it possible to have 2 models with the same reference and 2 different frequencies, can anyone tell me about this ? 2 / I will need an opinion about this card with my config. Thank you and Regards,

I'm exploring building a particular simple synthesizer and learning hardware en route. I need to get a firm comprehension of the supply voltage, sources of info and yields detail that is, for the most part, embraced, between each of the modules. For instance, I'm mindful a 15V power supply a case from ICrfq: https://www.icrfq.com/section/2300907-ISL6504CBZ.html appears to be normal; and 1V/Octave for the VCO. Is this right? Is a +15v, - 15v supply utilized? Additionally, what is the yield spec for the sound VCO? Might anyone be able to suggest additionally perusing for these general determinations and appraisals? I'm new to this, and I'm beginning with in…

I'm very tempted to get this monitor but at 32" ... but kinda small, however it will ensure I wouldn't need to use any AA. http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/accessories/apd/210-alez?cid=311637&st=&gclid=Cj0KEQjwkZfLBRCzg-69tJy84N8BEiQAffAwqjJzPb-PPP9bnpCbRgHC5ehMhzlxrQhkz9Pk8i8t24AaAqa_8P8HAQ&lid=5873789&VEN1=sl0JMHNji,194156631247,901pdb6671,c,,210-ALEZ&VEN2=,&dgc=st&dgseg=dhs&acd=1230980731501410&VEN3=111403924492636951 Looks like it operates with two DisplayPort connections for 60Hz operation. Anyone tried the 8K monitor front yet? I was going to wait until 2018 to jump on the 8K wagon (with expectation of lower prices a…

So I decided to change HDMI cables for my 4k monitor, just to see if slowing the refresh rate down to 30hz would be worth it. After watching Rob's videos, I couldn't believe how smooth everything looked. On my system, however, the experience was not smooth. There was huge input lag, especially using trackIR. Micro stutters as well. Granted, my monitor's native refresh rate with the heavy duty HDMI cable is 60hz, but I don't think that should matter (?). My Frame rate was 30 exactly and consistently throughout the whole flight. I had frames in sim to unlimited, Vertical sync, and tripple buffering all activated. I'll try to test again, but the lag with 30hz just seems too …

In case anyone was wondering about purchasing one of these I just purchased a Sony XBR55X850D 55in 4k to replace a 39in Seiki 4k and the difference in immersion is unbelievable. Rtings website is what I had been following for the last year and I took there advice. http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best/by-usage/pc-monitor http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x850d

Looking for recommendations for a 4k monitor. I have limited space so either 28" or 32". Is it worth paying the difference for an IPS monitor over a TN one? Is anyone using an Asus PB287Q or Asus MG28UQ ?

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of buying a curved 34" wide monitor, solely for Flight sim in P3D and was wondering if there would be any issues/drawbacks relating to the 21:9 scaling when using PMDG ,A2A aircraft. Basically is there any issues with the clarity of gauges (due to the screen curvature) or any visual impairment in the cockpit. If anyone is already using a curved screen I'd be interested in your thoughts before I commit to buying. Thanks for your input. p.s. I think My specs should be OK running the monitor: W10 64bit, I7-7700K, 36MB titanium ram, Aorus 1080ti card, Maximus Formula IX M/B, Be quiet water cooled, AX1200i P/S, NVme 96…

I'm still running my 4770 i7 rig with its original 600w power supply. When i bought the rig it had a 780Ti GPU which I've subsequently upgraded to a 980Ti. With P3Dv4 i'd like to upgrade the GPU to a 1080Ti. Will the PSU (600w) be sufficient for that? thanks

Man...do I recommend owning one of these beauts for flight simming. I just retired my 25 inch wide screen, and replaced it with this, this morning. I thought a year ago, that the ultra wide 21 aspect ratio was a gimmick...along with a curved display. I was wrong...... This has increased my immersion ten fold. Also, a perk...because of the native 3440x1440 native resolution, I just gained 5 FPS across all my sims...because I no longer need any type of A.A. The screen output is drop dead, gorgeous, and a GTX 1070 has no problem driving it. Being that it is Ultra HD, you don't get killed driving a 4K monitor...with resultant loss of FPS. You ca…

My monitor is 27" running at 2560x1440, 60Hz. (I may upgrade to a 27" 4k - at some point). My current card is a 780Ti sc'd. I am going to upgrade my video card looking at either the EVGA GTX1080 SC2 Gaming (08G-P4-6583-KR) or the EVGA GTX 1080Ti SC2 Gaming (11G-P4-6693-KR). There's about a $200 difference between the two cards. Considering the monitor's relative small size and resolution, is there any reason to buy the higher cost 1080Ti? I'm looking at performance, bang for the buck, etc.. Thanks guys!
