  1. I made this inquiry a few months ago and got no response. Thought I would try again. I have a dual monitor setup. I have an excellent C47 from Manfred Jahn which I greatly enjoy flying. However, the control pop up windows that are accessed by Shift 2-3-4-5 WILL NOT easily move to the second monitor. I have a BenQ 4K 32 main monitor and an Acer 27 as the second. I undock the windows and try to slide them to the second monitor. They stop at the edge. After repeated attempts which usually involve VERY quickly moving them, a piece of the window appears on the 2nd monitor and I can then finish dragging the windows across. It is also VERY difficult to grab the windows with the…

Hello all, As much as this could be an isolated issue, I feel that it is still pertinent to share it with you. I installed the new driver 387.92 earlier today and haven't been able to start Prepar3D. The initial loading screen would just stay there forever and I'd never get to the menu. After rolling back to 385.69, everything works fine. Again, probably an isolated issue, just sharing this if some of you are having the same problems. Best, Vincent

  3. Hey All, I've recently purchased an Nvidia GTX 970 and also got hold of a third monitor in the hope that I could use a monitor either side to have those really cool wide views I have seen. So I have Nvidia Surround setup and Prepar3D seems to display on all three monitors... however the view on the two side screens is horribly stretched making it a bit pointless to use. I've Googled this and searched forums for the past week but I've been unable to find a fix for this. Is anyone else using 3 monitors that could help me get this working please? Eternally grateful if you could help! Cheers Tim

Does anyone have anything to report yet regarding performance of P3Dv4 in a single computer multi-display setup? I am a current multi-computer WideView user (with P3Dv3) very curious about that. It would be nice to move to a single computer if I could get at least equivalent performance to what I have now. I posted the same query on the LM forum, but no responses so far. Fred K

  6. Hi all. Our setup is as follow. A computer with FSX connected to a Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition with 3 Projektors in a panorama view. And our question, Do any of u guys / girls have any idea how i should add a HD tv to our setup?. What we want to do is to show our family members / costomers to the person who is flying in the simulator that he see in front of him on the outside mounted HD tv on the wall. So i guess we want to show the "Main window" in FSX on the HD tv, and how should we manage to do that? Me self have an idea to maybe add a second TripleHead2Go Digital Edition and somehow get the image out on the television, but i didnt mak…

  7. Hello all, I am thinking of building a new rig to run the new Flight sims in the future, as in -P3D V4, Xplane 11, AF2 and FSW. I am running FSX SE with DX10fixer right now and probably for a little bit longer until I make the switch. My current System: i7 2700k @4.7 ASUS P8Z77-V PRO/THUNDERBOLT MSI GTX 680 8 GB Corsair platinum RAM Corsair 1000w Gold PS Corsair H80iGT cooler COOLER MASTER STORM ENFORCER case This setup has been amazing for me since 2012 or so, it runs my sim perfectly at 30fps, I don't care if you don't believe me or not, this isn't the point. I will be slowly gathering new parts for the new system whic…

  8. shadercache leaked vas in previous flight sim versions but obviously in v4 vas is not a problem so... is it okay and better to turn on nvidia shadercache?

  9. Just about finished with sourcing the parts for my new rig. Short summary: MSI Z270 Gaming M5 i7-7700k NZXT Kraken X62 G.Skill 3200MHz CL14 16Gb (2x 8Gb) 1x Samsung 960 EVO 500Gb (for Windows and Office apps) 1x Samsung 960 EVO 1Tb (for P3Dv4) 1x Seagate Barracuda 1Tb SATA600 (for static storage) EVGA SuperNOVA G3 850W The only thing missing right now is the video card. After a long consideration I made up my mind towards a GTX 1080 (non Ti), but still undecided about the brand and type. Will make that decision in the coming weeks (saving up a bit more in the meantime). Since it will take a few weeks before I obtain the video card, would there be…

  10. Started by Taver,

I have been using a 29" Ultrawide monitor for Prepar3d V4 with a second 22" monitor above the 29" for weather and various gauges. I got the bright idea to buy another 29" Ultrawide monitor to place above my current 29" monitor so I would have some more room to place weather and various gauges. Then I realized I could use Nvidia surround and combine the two monitors. All I can say is WOW! The VC is absolutely stunning. I can see all my instruments and the gauges are almost life size. It feels like you are in a real cockpit. I have no need to use external gauges as I can see and reach everything without moving my view. One MAJOR caveat. I have the horizont…

Not sure if anyone already posted about it, but a recent driver release from Nvidia looks good, at least for me running P3Dv4 on my Alienware laptop. Graphics Card installed - GeForce GTX 1070 Driver installed - 385.69 dated 9/20/2017 Everything running very smooth with most sliders maxed out. Great FPS.

I remember I read somewhere before the summer that it was expected that nVidia will present their new GTX 20xx or 11xx series in Q3 of this year. Is there any news or more or less confirmed rumour about that? I kinda hope it will reduce the prices of the GTX 1070 or 1080 like we're just starting to see with the Intel 7700k processor (because of the 8700k coming soon). I don't have to money to buy the latest greatest, but I'll settle for an i7-7700k accompanied with a GTX 1070 (or a 1080 if I find a good deal).

Hello everybody, I'm currently running P3D v4 on this setup: MOBO: AsRock H97 Anniversary CPU: i7-4790K (not OC, using the turbo 4,4 GHz function because my MOBO doesn't allow OC... Yeah that was a bummer when I found out :D) Cooler: CoolerMaster something worth 25$ GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB OC RAM: 2x4 GB SSD: 128 GB (Windows 10) and 256 GB (P3D only) HDD: 1 TB Monitor: Philips Brilliance 230C 23" 1080p Well, it's quite OK setup, but I figured it's time for some upgrades... Can't get P3D smooth with all the fancy add-ons :-)... I want to ask you about your opinion about choices that I came up with, or possibly other suggestions. …

I'm looking to build a decent flight sim setup for my home office. I've already have the following system and would prefer to not upgrade anything (with the exception of *possibly* the video card): i7-4790 32Gb Ram EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Samsung 850 500Gb SSD Pro Flight Yoke and Throttle/Prop/Mix MFG Crosswind Pedals I have a Volair Sim chassis on the way, but would like to get some monitor recommendations. I don't have a wide open wallet and I'm trying to keep the cost within reason. I'm not a gamer, so I don't want to invest in top of the line gear since this will be used exclusively for P3D. I have been considering a three mon…

  15. Started by Vali,

These days I tested different settings on my actual system (i7-4790K, GTX 1080TI) and I played with the monitor refresh rate, from 60Hz to 30hz and back, to get P3D v4 as smooth as possible. I also ran user benchmark and then I got the message " Performing below potential (1st percentile) - Disable monitor sync before benchmarking (60 fps cap detected)". No idea why but then searching with Google I found out that I need to reset the settings in nVidia Inspector. After I did that, smoothness and good fps were back. Each time when I change the refresh rate, something gets wrong... I removed nVidia Inspector but after playing with refresh rates, fps dropped, again sync …

  17. In the beginning I had a mysterious "very low FPS performance" problem in FSX (it was always around 6-7/sec average) and I tried many things to solve it. I played very much with "fsx.cfg" file and other settings, I worked on BIOS and hardware configuration, drivers, CPU settings..etc. Finally I could not find even any little clue about the reason, and I could not be able to increase FPS even a little. But after I attached a second NVidia card to the same system (which has lower capacity than my current card), I see with this card I can reach to 40/s FPS without making any special settings. So I understood nothing was about "fsx.cfg" file or other setting or othe…

  18. OK, this is the dilemma I’ve got at the moment and would be grateful for some help or advice, please. I’m building home flight deck based on the BAe 146. The diagram on my blog shows the set up for my system - http://bae-146-home-build-flight-sim.blogspot.co.nz/2017/09/setting-up-warping-software-and-using.html I’m using two Dell S320 short-throw projectors for the scenery on a 180o circular screen. I’m using Nthusim software to manage the screen warping. Inside the cockpit I’ve got two standard monitors that I want to use for flight instrument and engine management. The computer I’m using is a bespoke system that I built 2 years ago with a reasonably h…

Been looking for a while for a new monitor to use primarily for P3Dv4 and X-Plane 11. My current screen is a Hazro HZ27WC which is a 27", 2560x1440 only capable of running at 59Hz which makes it impossible to get smooth performance in P3D. GPU is a GTX 970 so I don't know how well it will handle a 4K screen. I find it hard to find detailed specs for refresh rates to include 30Hz. Any suggestions? Would like 30" and at least 2560x1440 resolution.

Hello all, I am adding a CAD/CAM software to my Prepar3d V4 system. My question is this: what video card do I need to run both Prepar3d v4 and Solidworks 2017 without any issues. I am advised to go with the Nvidia quadro p4000 or m4000. Anyone have suggestions? Assume I have the power to run such video card. Thanks in advance.

I've come to depend on community feedback for major hardware purchases and I've got one coming up. I'm planning to upgrade my video card from an EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti that I installed in 2015 to the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. To be honest the 980 Ti has very little trouble with anything I've thrown at it but I'm looking to move it to another gaming PC and want my primary PC to have the extra horsepower for the future and to get the most out of the Oculus Rift I've recently begun a new addiction with. The rest of my rig includes 32 GB of memory, SSDs, an Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz on an ASUS Z97-A-USB31 motherboard. From research I've seen different specifications and …

  23. Hi Dear I'm working on setting a dual vue. After being sure that everything is ok with my computer I opened Wideview setting panel and input all the vue angles number in both the primary and secondary. Sorry, I forgot to mention that it's about FS9 win7 64bits and Nvidia 780GTX After that I check on the "disable virtual cockpit 3D" view on both primary and secondary and also the "raise primary view"... When FS9 fire up, it looks good except for the secondary vue which shows a small ghost inside vue of the cockpit. My question is, did I miss something? Years ago I've heard about a "dumb aircraft" who could be…

Good day everyone! Again I am having major problems using two monitors with FSX. When I start FSX everythinbg works great on the master display and the new view I want shows up on the master display. When I click "Undock window" and drag it across to monitor two, no problem as long as I do not change the size of it or put it in full screen mode. Then everything just turns black. Have tried SO much now but nothing helps me. Direct X10 preview only makes some scenery to show up as triangles and that is no option. My system is: Windows 7 ultimate 16 GB RAM 2 GB video card FSX with NGX from PMDG and various add ons such as ORBX and My Traffic Display…
