  2. I have 142 hours in FSX:SE with my Radeon R9 390X. Fired it up today and I am greeted with a message saying that my graphics card does not meet the minimum requirements for shader support. Which is a complete joke. I hope this isn't a case of FSX:SE being nobbled to push people to FSW, because it will just push me over the edge to P3D ... Any help greatly appreciated.

I have 2 Flightsim systems, my old FSX/P3d v3 system running with a Intel i7 2600k/AMD R9 290 video-card in 4K and my new system with a Intel i7 7700K/GTX1070 for the new P3d v4 and 4K video editing. My old system has no problem running 4K with a displayport 1.2@60fps but the new system cannot run 4K in 60fps on a hdmi 2.0b cable (only runs@30fps with flickering) I have only 1 displayport 1.3 on this monitor and 2 hdmi ports which the manufacturer LG claims run at 60fps, any suggestions such as a displayport switcher which I cannot seem to locate (are they made)? Thanks for any help or suggestions...Darryl

Good evening all, I currently have an I5 PC (3,4ghz) coupled with an Nvidia Geforce 750gtx card, of 2gb I am thinking about replacing that GPU with a Geforce GTX 1050 Ti of 4gb memory.. I am usually playing FSX in dx10 mode, and if i understand correctly, the videocard is more important then in dx9 mode. Can i expect more fluent gameplay (less stutters) with everything set on low to medium? Thanks..

  8. A good friend is upgrading his 3 month old 1080 for the 1080Ti and has offered me the 1080 for a price agreeable to both of us. My 780 GTX still satisfies me but a few extra fps would be handy at places like Heathrow etc. My computer is overclocked and has an Intel i7 4770K overclocked to 4.4GHz. I have 8Gb RAM running FSX:SP2 on Windows 7 64-bit. Given the new card is 3 generations removed from my 780 can I expect a decent improvement running on a 32" Sony TV at 1920x1080? One monitor only.

  9. I need some professional advice. I have a LG34UM67P UltraWide 34" monitor; windows 10x64 Creator, 970 Asus Strix, AMD Vishera (8 core) and 32gb Ram. I need someone to tell me the best settings inside p3dv4; Nvidia Control Panel (if needed) and Nvidia Inspector (if needed). The only thing I really run is GSX; UTLive; Chaseplane, FTX Global and PTA Assistant...preset 1.5 if that sounds right... Trying to get this sim to look good and get my framerates up. I may jump to a 1060 6gb in June if I can get a good deal. Also any setting I might need to change inside the monitor. any help greatly appreciated. 15. Hi everybody! I'm building a new PC for flight simulation (FSX, P3D, and X-Plane 11): i7-7700K, GTX1080. In your opinion, which monitor will be the best? I hesitate between these ones: Asus PG278QR (TN), Dell S2716DG (TN), Acer XB271HUA (TN) Asus PG279Q (IPS), Acer XB271HU (IPS), ViewSonic (IPS). TN or IPS? Do G-Sync and a high-level refresh rate (144-165 Hz) improve the visuals? I will also use the monitor for work (Word, Excel, some development...). It will be on everyday for about 8-10 hours. Another question: Does a 4K 28'' monitor improve significantly the visuals? Meaning that 28'' 4K have a standard 60Hz refresh rate. Comparing to a 27'' 144-…

I've been comparing graphic cards all weekend and within my budget I keep switching back and forth between 2 cards... This card is, of course, meant for the new 64-bit sims. My first sim is P3D, I'm curious about FSW and who knows I'll get a copy of X-plane in the future, so let's say the card is for alround flight simming. I've had both brands before and have been pleased with both, so I've been pleased with both brands and I dont have a preference to help me out, so I'd like to know what others think about what would be best. https://www.alternate.co.uk/MSI/GeForce-GTX-1080-Gaming-Xplus-8G-Graphics-card/html/product/1344272?event=search or https://ww…

I've been looking for a 4k TV lately and inevitably came across curved TVs too. One pro that was being mentioned constantly is the alleged higher immersion. You're said to feel more like you're actually inside of what you're seeing on the screen which undoubtedly is a huge pursuit when simming. Anyone out there who has used a curved screen with a sim and can confirm this?

  18. Hi Folks: I've recently installed a new video monitor, ultra wide, curved, LG 29UC97C and I'm running it at 2560x1080 resolution (which is its recommended setting) and 60 Hz refresh rate (no other option selectable). I've been suffering from a lot of tearing -horizontal lines- and I've already made the following adjustments: 1. Set both V-Sync ON in game (with P3Dv3.4) and in the NVIDIA Control Panel (NVCP) as well, for both Global Configuration and for Prepar3D. 2. Set Triple Buffering ON in game. 3. Cleaned using DDU all previous video drivers installation, and re-installed latest driver 381.89. Using a GeForce GTX 980. Is there any specific act…

Hello. I have an issue I am trying to get to grips with. I recently bought the 1080TI ROG strix OC edition but the vendor accidently sent me a regular ROG strix without the factory OC. I got to keep this card until they sent me the real deal. So I've been using the regular card for about a week with great performance. Yesterday I swapped to the OC-version. Now the odd issue: When I used the standard non-OC ROG Strix 1080TI my performance was about double what I get now with the OC version. I seem to be locked at 30 FPS regardless of game! Highly annoying. Shutting down vertical sync does nothing. To my knowledge I have no frame limiter in effect. Doing the Fur…

  20. Hi All, I'm banging my head against the wall with this one and trying to avoid a reformat. Windows 7 64 bit is the OS This morning my Wife restarted the computer due to a lockup while burning a disk. after the restart the computer came up with the normal ASUS post image, then loading windows appeared . then a black screen. I was able to get graphics in safe mode. I removed and cleanly reinstalled the Nvidia (GTX970) display drivers. back to black screen on boot. Safe mode again, removed the display drivers. reboot. graphics reappeared. Every time I install drivers for my GTX970, I get nothing but black screen. any version. The computer functions normally with the st…

Hello, I recently purchased an EVGA GTX 1050TI 4GB. I went to run fsx after doing some tweaking and installing and a few restarts and did a connected flight deck in the aerosoft airbus A320. I was getting around 12-20 frames at Gatwick with UK2000 and ORBX global. We flew down to GCLP and my frames were around 12-20 for the whole flight. My friend on the other hand was getting 30-40 with FTX Open LC europe and REX4 textures UK2000 EGKK with integrated graphics however he has an I5 4690K processor but no graphics card. We both looked at each others settings in the cruise and I set mine the same as his and I was getting the same frames. The frames stayed the same even if I…

  22. Hi fellow simmers! My rig has arrived and not being used to WIN10, or twin monitors for that matter. I cannot get FSX to span across both monitors in full view mode. Don't know where to start, but here's my setup: 1. WIN10 Installed, FSX with both SP installed (nothing else really at this point). 2. GeForce GTX770 Display card 3. LG Flatron E2211 (monitors) drivers installed 4. In the NVIDIA Control panel I've set the "Surround Display" Mode. Which makes the desktop behave like there's two monitors. But I only see the taskbar on one of the screens Any suggestions? Regards

I'll start by emphasizing that I am not tech savvy. My question is what specification(s) should I be seeking in sourcing a ~43" 4k tv to use as a monitor for FSX and/or P3d? What specs should I avoid? My current system specs are: - (CPU) intel i5 - 2500k (OC at ~4,4GHz) - (GPU) MSI Geforce GTX 1060 (3gb) - (RAM) G.Skill Ripjaws X (2x4GB) - (Monitors): I currently run two of: Asus VH238H 23". My intent would be to either add a third monitor OR replace with all with the 4k TV OTHER: - Various Saitek devices (yoke and quadrant; pedals; trim wheel; 8 of PIDs; 2 of radios; 1 of multi-panel; switch panel). Thanks folks, Bria…
