Hi--back in December I got a Titan Pascal. Never overclocked it until a few days ago. Wow, what a difference!! Went from 1531 MHZ boost to 2000 MHZ all with the stock air cooler. I've got an Nvidia Hybrid Watercooler on the way, but in the meantime I use a fan curve that jumps to 100% at 70 degrees (don't mind the noise). The GPU never goes over 75 degrees and usually stays in the mid sixties. I won't get the water cooler for another week, and would appreciate anyone letting me know if you think there's any danger of damage to the card in the meantime. Thanks very much.

Hi all. I'm on p3d v3 / v4 and have reached a little bit if a limit. I can vary a lot of settings and it not really effect performance. I bought my 980it for my 1080p monitor and the ultra wide 1440p does take more resource. My fps are around 25-35 in heavy situations with vc. Now that it ok but gsync kicks in after 30 which is great. Question. Worth the upgrade for me? In games there is around a 50%-60% increase between the two (obviously it won't be that in p3d) Also, users who have done that exact upgrade paths. What is your thoughts?

WINDOWS 10 did an update, which caused this neophyte a lot of hassle (and learning) trying to set the mutli-monitors back up the way they were; which I have accomplished. Using NVIDIA GeForce 6100 with 4 monitors: 2, 1, 3 with #4 situated directly under #1. Monitor 2 is primary. It used to be that we would stretch accross windows 1 through 3 to operate the sim. Now, we stretch accross monitors 1 thru 3; and the window stretches just fine, but FSX only fills Monitor #2 with No. 1 and 3 being black blank. What do I need to do to get FSX to utilize the full stretched window, like it did before MS updates?

  8. Looking to upgrade from my EVGA 970 GTX. Would the EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 SC 8GB PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card be a very noticeable improvement Will use it with P3Dv4 and all of those goodies out there. https://www.walmart.com/ip/GeForce-GTX1080-SC-Gaming-ACX3/52709668 Thanks Randy Smith

Let me apologize since I know this is asked a lot in one form or another. However I'm lost as to what video card to purchase for use with P3Dv4. I'll be replacing a EVGA 780TI superclocked on my system running a i7 4770k oc'd to 4.4., 16 RAM DDR3 at 2400. What I read is all very contradictory. Will I gain much by going to a newer card and if so, how? Will I see much difference between the 1060ti, 1070ti, or 1080ti? Is there a sweetspot in the cards. Bottom line, I would REALLY appreciate advice and ask "what would you do?" Thanks guys!!!

  13. Hi. I have a Dell Studio XPS 8000 desktop system which is 7 years old. I am currently running FSX Gold on the computer with Windows 7 Home 64 bit. The system comes with an i7 860 2.80 GHz CPU and a GeForce GTS 240 video card. It originally had 4 GB DDR memory which I have just upgraded to 8 GB. I believe I have a 350 W PSU. I am not in a position financially to buy a completely new system, and so I am looking for ways to upgrade the system, if only moderately, in order to give the PC a few more years of life. I have researched online, and most sources suggest that Dell lock down their PCs so that they cannot be overclocked. Is this correct? I can certainly confi…

I'm in the process of porting most of my aircraft to P3D 3.4 and transitioning to this as my primary sim platform. All that's left in FSX is the 737NGX. I'm strongly considering a GPU upgrade and am curious as to which direction to go. My box has an I7-4770K with a pretty mild overclock to 3.8-4.0Ghz. I can't get it to run reliably above 4.0Ghz so I'll chock it up to not winning the silicon lottery and move on. It's got 32GB of DDR3-2133 and a pair of Samsung 840 EVOs - a 128GB for Windows and a 512GB for my sims and other major apps. I don't see any advantage to upgrading that. I've got a 27" monitor running at 2560x1440 and a GTX760 with 4GB of VRAM. When runnin…

Hello to you all, I hope that I am in the right forum here but if not, Moderators please feel free to move it. My query is basically aimed at AEFS2 and XPlane but it is also a general query. AEFS2 and XPlane specifics will be directed to their own forums as well. Many of you will be reasonably familiar with me and my FS2004 cockpit set up and my numerous, and so far, unsuccessful ,attempts to duplicate my multimonitor set up in other platforms ie FSX, FSX-SE, P3D and XPlane. For all of you guys and girls who are into the technical side of things, I would like to know just how hard it is and briefly what is involved, in setting up and/or creating a pop-…

Hey guys I have a 4k monitor and a 1080p monitor. What I would like to do is have my main sim running on the 4K and use the 1080p for just viewing the CDU, overhead panel, or whatever I need. Is this even possible using different resolution monitors? I'm using P3D V4, Windows 10, and a GTX980. Thanks for your help!

  19. Hello guys, just updated my GTX 1060 to the Nvidia 382.53 driver released 4 hours ago and got a huge increase in fps! Even the mentioned nothing about "game ready" for Prepar3D v4 in the changelogs I get now 36 - 40 fps while flying in NYC and LAX before that 22 - 27 fps. In more low pop areas like KSFO I get now 55 - 60 fps while, before I had around 36 - 45 fps. Greets Nytro

I'm about to buy myself a 43'' 4k and I'd like to know first what impact a 4k resolution can have on the frame rate. Is there much of a difference to using a full HD monitor or is it negligible? Will my GPU be able to handle 4k?

Can someone post or provide a link to some Nvidia Inspector settings for a 970 and FSX:SE? Jagged edges everyplace. Dancing water. I think the CPU is fine for driving the better or higher settings. I am searching for a not too expensive monitor that has a regular 1920x1080 resolution but which can run at 30 hz (for smoother performance in flightsims). I am having a hard time figuring out which monitors support this though... I can only find very HD res monitors that seem to use HMDI 1.4 at 30 hz...? Are there any 1080 monitors that can run at 30 hz?

  24. Yesterday I replaced the GTX 750 TI with a new GTX 1060 6 meg Nividia card. After installing the card and new driver from Nividia website. started P3D and no sound. I went to Device manager and saw that my default sound was changed.so I reset set it to what it had been , and sound returned. Now I went to the helicopter i am current;y flying a Cera Sim AS365 and that copter has some sounds in the VC for switch clicks for lighting, and parking brake to name a few, and now those sounds are missing when I activate those switches or the brakes. This was not occurring prior to replacing the GPU, so I am thinking that something is messed up in the sound, since these new Nivid…

I'm not sure if I should post here or in the flight simulator forum. Anyway, my question is in regard to FSX and the Nvidia software called PhysX System Software. My understanding about this software is that it's supposed to help make video games run smoother by taking some of the load off the GPU. If so, does this software help make FSX run smoother or will FSX run smoother without the software? Ken Manning
