Hi all, Since several months I see a framerate loss at low altitudes/approach after a 2+h flight. The 2 1080Ti cards are at low load at cruising altitude and when descending they stay at low load which causes very low fps. I have tried with SLI and as separate cards but no difference. I have tried the 6 latest drivers ( cleaned every time with DDU ) and with Passmark tests it showed no graphics card issues. When saving the flight and then rebooting the pc and P3D the framerat is back up again. Max temps is below 66 degrees and the cpu below 60 degrees at full load.Power supply is 1000 Watt. Here after 3h of flying. Rebooting P3D does no…

Doesn't it make you all warm and fuzzy that he apparently already has his cards while we all are still waiting? 😑

Hi Everyone Have been looking at monitors recently and someone suggested a Ben Q 3200PT which seems to be designed for CAD design looking at the reviews. It will set me back about $800 here in Australia. Are many people running this for FSX? How does it stack up for gaming? The considerably more expensive options seem to be all about $1200+ for a 32" gaming monitor, i came across is a 34" Acer X34. it us an ultrawide running 3440x1440 pixel IPS panel with a flicker-free LED backlight, 10-bit color (courtesy of frame-rate conversion), a claimed 4ms response time, G-Sync, 100Hz refresh (with overclock). My question is does this 21:9 ratio suit FSX an…

It may be too soon but I was wondering just how much Dev's know at this point about how hard it is going to be to implement this new Tech to P3D and add on scenery as well as aircraft. I am not looking for a release date LOL! It just seems like it would not be reasonable to expect any benefit other than the normal performance increases from one generation to the next in releases. My guess is that it may be at least 12 to 18 months before this new tech comes to the sims. I would love to hear what the Dev's and experts think. Am I way off??

Problematical for us that preordered, but were also counting on reviews to help us decide if we should cancel or not. Also feels a bit shady...... https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-changes-geforce-rtx-2080-reviews-date-to-september-19th

I've recently bought some very demanding scenery (OrbX Netherlands TrueEarth) and realised that my current setup (Windows 7) can't really handle it, so I'm thinking about buying a GTX1080 to replace my GTX970. I read that P3D4 is somewhat limited by your processor (I have an Intel I5), so I was a bit worried that spending NZ$900 on a new graphics card might achieve very little, but I checked my computer's performance yesterday and found that my GTX 970 seems to be the bottleneck. I do have two questions though, - I understand that GPU dedicated memory is system RAM that can be used for graphics. I have 16GB of system RAM, 4GB of GPU RAM, but my Process Explorer sta…

I am considering switching back to FSX or P3D from X-Plane. The primary reason I switched to X-Plane is because of multi-monitor support. FSX on three monitors looks too stretchy adding distortion to the overall sim experience. I am thinking of switching back to s single monitor (Projector 4K 1080P 1920x1080)? Typical gamer response to both 4K TV and projectors are the fact that they do not have a fast enough refresh rate. Since FSX graphic engine hasn't been updated in 10 years, I figured the performance would be acceptable. Is anybody using a projector for FSX or P3D? If so how do you like it? I am considering VR but heard that the poor resolution and not bei…

So, looking through a bunch of threads, it seems like the HDR referenced in P3D (and X-Plane) might not really be “HDR” as in high-dynamic-range rendering? Ultimately my question boils down to this: would the Acer Predator XB321HK 32" be a decent monitor? I preordered an RTX 2080Ti and am looking to also update my 1080p 27” monitor. Can’t go up more than the 32 for desk space, and I’m trying to figure out if this UHD 4K panel is also HDR, seems like it might not be? So, let’s just say I’m confused. It seems like a decent panel, but does the (if it does) lack of HDR matter for enabling HDR in the sims? TIA for thoughts.

I run P3Dv.4 on my main monitor, and generally fly "non-windowed" full screen. I would like to use the Electronic Flight Bag Program that would run in the background on my flight computer, but be displayed on a second monitor. To be honest, I think I tried this set up in the past but found that P3D had an issue when I tried to use EFB and display it on a second monitor. I forget exactly what the anomaly was, but I believe either the flight sim screen went dark, or I could not fly in full screen mode with the other monitor in use. Can anyone give me some insight on what works and doesn't work? Thanks for your help! Kevin MacDonald

Is it possible to run P3Dv.4 on one monitor, and have a affiliated program such as Active Sky or EFB run in the background and be displayed on a second adjoining monitor? I tried this and find that P3D will only run in windowed mode, and the flight sim pauses when accessing the background program on the other monitor. Is this the normal thing? Thanks Kevin MacDonald

I OCd my CPU but never thought about OCing graphics card. Now I watched some Youtube videos and apparently it's very easy to OC GTX970 with MSi Afterburner for example. I'm wondering, would this actually have any noticeable effect on P3D v4 performance at all regarding FPS?

Hi all, Will be upgrading my 7 year old PC very soon, and will be adding a GTX1080Ti to the mix, just hoping this TV will work. Ignore the price, can get it for about $500USD. Any advice appreciated. https://www.harveynorman.co.nz/tv-and-audio/televisions/4k-uhd-televisions/samsung-43-4k-smart-tv.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwh9_bBRA_EiwApObaOBYCY47543_LnHqXZOxld5uyWBS8RZJnHjUiXA1clnIIv2GJHBC0MxoCrWAQAvD_BwE

So lets say someone has been using a very modest monitor with 1920x1080 pixel resolution. And so now you buy one of these... Samsung 49" Class QLED gaming monitor 3840 X 1080 It's sort of like two 24" monitors side by side, only no partition down the middle and it's curved. It seems to me that's not a lot of pixels, not real dense, sort of a coarse picture. But in my experience big is better nevertheless. And is Spades! Framerates in FSX would be about exactly cut in half? https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LC49HG90DMNXZA-Curved-49-Inch-Monitor/dp/B072C7TNC5/ https://www.frys.com/product/9414841?nearbyStoreName=false&site=game…

I found this today accidentally, with the new NVIDIA drivers(for quite some time now), default color settings are in compatibility mode for old TV's. So, if you are using default NCP settings, you are probably missing some "HD part" of your monitor / TV capability. I'm posting this, becouse it makes a huge difference for my HD monitor. I don't know if this is default only if you are using HDMI cable or not. This is what needs to be checked: In NVIDIA Control Panel, go to "Change Resolution" and check what is selected under "Output dynamic range". It should be "Full", and it's "Limited" by default. Just change it to "Full" and apply settings. http:// …

Hi All,, In the past, I've run my FSX & now P3D environments with a single 24 1080p monitor,,, single monitor, single GPU. But now, I'm considering adding an older 20" monitor, strictly to handle PFD/MFD use, more if the system can handle it. Just find that hitting Shift-1, or Shift-2 and back, is getting a bit old, especially when I see the 20" sitting quietly on a shelf, begging to be used. I've searched around the forums, as best I can, but looking for a guide or tutorial that might best explain how to go about it. Yes, I add the 2nd monitor to my single GPU, with the result that Windows 7 now sees both monitors. But the steps as to what to change in FS…
