Hi all, Looking all these new RTX cards mentioned often, I was curious about what is the current Avsim statistic on Nvidia GPUs. I myself have a GTX 1070 and thinking to upgrade in the near future so I'd be really interested to have an image of what the members of our community currently use for their GPU as well as what is the trend for the future. I guess many would also be interested in this distribution.

Evening, I have just taken the plunge and purchased an oculus rift (on offer) to get into VR as I have been seeing a lot of positive comments around it recently. I only tend to fly X-Plane 11 - IFR and predominantly with the Zibo 737 / Flight Factor A320. I use vsync and set FPS to 30fps and have really smooth sim with no stutters, am certainly not a FPS chaser and more than happy with 30fps. My system is; i7-6700k OC 4.6GHz stable, Asus ROG Max VIII Ranger Z170 , 8GB RAM, Win10, GTX 980Ti, 32'' monitor 1080p - 1920-1080 at 60hz. Following the move to VR, I understand my 980Ti may not be good enough, so I am looking to upgrade my GPU. The million…

Beta 10 of MSI Afterburner now provides automated selection and testing of the best OC: https://www.msi.com/blog/get-a-free-performance-boost-with-afterburner-oc-scanner Personally I never see much improvement from OCing my GPU, but if you have a either a Pascal or Turing card, you might want to take a look at the above link.

O.P. Hi all, Just wanted to get some help and opinions on the best monitor to purchase based on the above requirements. I've got a 1080 TI FTW3 and will be looking to upgrade from my current BenQ 24" 144Hz monitor. Having had the taste of playing on a 144Hz monitor, I can't go back to anything lower. Therefore, I'll need something that's: 1) 144 Hz & above 2) 27" 3) 1440p minimum 4) Ideally not curved 5) G Sync 6) Below $800 AUD preferably A current shortlist of monitors I'm quite interested in: - AOC AGON AG271QG - ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q - Viewsonic XG2703-GS - Dell S2716DG - Acer Pre…

Hi All, I'm getting prepare to build a simulator and I'm gathering a max of info before anything. So, does anyone has any experience with a curve monitor/tv setup for scenery instead of a multiple projector display. Thanks for your feedback. Phil

For those considering a video card purchase, here is a link to Guru3d's ranking of video cards. They use 3D Mark as the synthetic benchmark. I use these kind of comparisons not as a quantitative comparison of actual performance but a qualitative (i.e. relative) comparison. https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/zotac_gaming_geforce_rtx_2080_ti_amp_extreme_review,29.html Happy Holidays! Hello, I'm starting a new topic on this because the old one I found was from 2016. Looking for 30Hz capable displays with 4K. I want to invest in a new monitor and I definitely want to try this option finally. Also what would be needed to make it work at 30Hz? Like I want to simply be able to select it and go. I know the connections are specific (HDMI vs. Display Port) and etc etc. CPU-i9-9900k GPU-RTX 2080 Thanks

Let's say you have two monitors, both are 27". One has native resolution 1920x1080 and the other has native resolution 2560x1440. Now you set both monitors to 1920x1080. Would the picture quality and impact on performance (P3D v4) be the same on both? Would there be any differences?

Not sure this applies 1 to 1 with sims, which tend to be weird, FPS-Wise, but I thought it was interesting, nonetheless.

Is it possible to use a 2080Ti to drive two 4K displays for outside views and a 2080 to drive a third display for another outside view ? Already I have a Gigabyte Windforce OC 2080 Ti and at this moment all 2080 Ti’s are sold out here. As the second card only needs to drive one display I thought that maybe the Gigabyte Windforce OC 2080 would be enough. However, the Gigabyte OC app might only be overclocking one of them or will overclock to the lowest of the two cards. Or maybe cannot work with 2 different GPU’s..

Greetings, I have been in the three monitor setup for about 10 years and seriously considering the move to single monitor as so many seem to be recommending the latter. I recently became aware of the Samsung 49 inch ultra wide screen and thought this might be the ticket to finally get rid of the dreaded bezels without compromising a huge amount of field-of-vision. Today, I had the opportunity to view the Samsung at a local Microsoft store, however, there was no chance to observe FS activity. I was hoping someone may have some comments or even better, some video (GA preferred). I have searched YouTube, however unable to locate detailed FS utility as it relates to thi…

Finally took the plunge, and am very pleased with the results. Before installing the new card I established a particularly strenuous scenario in P3D where my FPS was horrible, saved the scenario, installed the new card, and loaded the same scenario. Here are the results. Note the only thing changed in my system is the video card, everything else (hardware/software/drivers/P3D config/Add-ons) were the exact same. Note: PC specs in my signature. Scenario: GTX-1060 P3Dv4.4 with Dynamic Lights (DL) enabled FlightBeam KMSP Gate F10 at midnight on 12/13/2018 (DL enabled) FSLabs A320 in Delta Livery with default Engine Running state Dom…

Hi all, It’s been a few months since the new cards came out, and I was wondering if there’s enough information out there to confirm (or not) that a switch from a 1070 to a 2080 is a worthy upgrade for P3D. Other specs are in my signature. I’m fairly happy with how it’s running now, but would like to push the GPU intensive settings further to the right. Same with using higher def clouds etc.. Thanks

Just purchased a new LG 32" gaming monitor with HDR (previous monitor did not have that feature) and am having an issue (or I don't understand it). I have HDR activated in P3D V4.3 and in the settings for the monitor...everything looks real good...but if I go into the Windows "Display Settings" and turn on what they call "HDR and WCG" (it's on one switch) than, within P3D, my mouse goes into a very faint outline that I can hardly see while if I go outside of P3D all type is outlined and very light. So my questions are...am I doing something wrong or do I just need to leave the "HDR and WCG" switch off in Windows 10 and am I getting the benefits of HDR within P3D wit…

I purchased a Samsung 49” CHG90 last week and it’s still in the box! I mostly fly the PMG 777 and I’m looking for a more immersive experience. My intention was to use the CHG90 exclusively for the external view and my Dell 3415 for the virtual cockpit only. The Dell works well for displaying the entire forward cockpit at a usable size when your not displaying the view outside the cockpit. My thought is the 1080p vertical on the CHG90 will be less of a burden on my 1080ti while still giving me a nice expansive external view and I’ll still have the 1440 detail for the cockpit. Since the cockpit will be mostly static I feel the overall graphics performance may be improv…

Hi all. I am setting up a visual for my homecockpit, using 3 projectors. Now my question is what would be the best setup. I have read alot on this forum, and it looks like that using 2 x RTX2080TI running in SLI actually is a hassle and buggy and not giving very much extra performance. But I would think that is for use on a single monitor, or? Would it give any sense to use 2 x RTX2080TI not in SLI but just connect one view projector and the "mainmonitor" to one, and two views to the second card? And when choosing GPUs, what should I be aware of? There are alot of brands that produce the RTX2080ti, some cheaper than others - but what are the differences? Any sugge…

I'm looking to buy a 4k monitor that supports 30Hz (or any monitor better than my current one that supports 30Hz). Browsing similar topics here gives very good suggestions but almost all of them are for really good 4k monitors that cost a lot of money. I'm looking for something on a budget (450$ max). Right now I have 1920x1080 24" monitor so anything better than that would be ok. I don't want it to be much bigger. Any suggestions?

Hello, I'm not used to create topics, so I appologise if I commit any mistakes. I am now using Prepar3D v4 in my computer (Windows 10), usually with PMDG 737NGX and 6 displays. The main display is connected to a GTX 1070 graphics card, which shows the scenery. All the other displays are connected to the integrated video card (Intel Graphics 630). Usually I fly in windowed mode, with detached displays (overhead, DUs, radio panel...) distributed in the monitors connected to the integrated video card. I know that it can reduce the FPS, but most of the times they are around 25 FPS, which is good for me. I realised that a second dedicated GPU could improve performance, so…

Will be ordering a new high end PC and planning on using a Nvidia GTX1080Ti. Wondering what the advantages are of having two GPUs, vs. just one. Any comments, or experience using two will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Captain Tom
