I will be getting RTX 2080Ti soon and I have several options with +/- $100 variance. Brands : MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS, EVGA - which is the most reliable? I've always been using EVGA My understanding that OC-ed card require most cooling, i.e. triple fans would be preferable in that scenario. The only triple-fan solution has Gigabyte OC-ed product, but I have never had any experience with that brand. Any concerns? Thanks Dmitriy

Hi, Hi currently sim on a 16:9 4k 27'' monitor ( and regular 1080p monitor for tools). Those new 49'' 32:9 3840x1080 monitor looks amazing for flightsim. Actualy fewer pixels that 4k so easy on the gfx card. The immersion looks amazing. BUT, much lower DPI. Does anybody have one of those? Would I regret the loss of DPI vs a regular 4k monitor. Is 21:9 3440x1400 'regular' curved widescreen be better?

https://www.techradar.com/news/msi-mocks-apples-dollar999-pro-display-xdr-stand-with-a-5k-monitor-for-almost-the-same-price When Apple announced an optional stand for its Pro Display XDR at WWDC 2019, the company was met with disbelief and derision when it revealed the price – $999 (around £999 / AU$1,400) – and now MSI has mocked the ridiculous price of the Pro Stand with an advert for its 5K Prestige Monitor. Using a similar format to Apple’s ‘I’m a Mac’ adverts (MSI must really have it in for the Cupertino company), MSI compares the specifications of the Pro Stand compared to the MSI Prestige. So, for $999 you get… well, just a stand, with Apple’s P…

I bought a EVGA GTX 1080 FTW from EVGA a few months ago for a build I intended to do. Later decided to abandon the build and I'm trying to decide if it's worth installing the card or sell it. My current system is a i5-3570K OC to 4.2Ghz with a EVGA GTX 760 with 2gb. I fly FSX and occasionally putter with X-Plane 11 and have no complaints about performance. I have reached the point where I no longer want to chase the hardware dragon. Failing a hardware failure I will reluctantly upgrade to Windows 10 next year and drive this computer into the ground. 🙂 So, to paraphrase The Clash; Should it stay or should it go? Thanks, Ernie

I am in the process of building a simulator for training glider pilots. It consists of the front half of glider fuselage mounted on a stand, surrounded by five 2.5m wide projector screens giving a FOV of 235 degrees. The projectors are low res, running at 1024 by 768 - we need the 4/3 aspect ratio. We just got the system running using a development PC with a single graphics card driving 3 of the projectors. Assuming I need 2 graphics cards to drive 5 projectors I would appreciate advice on the following points: How do I synchronise the vertical frame updates across both cards? Do I need an SLI connection between the two cards to achieve item (1)? D…

Hi, I just made a clean update to my Nvidia V430.64 driver for GTX1080ti W7U64. The Nvidia Control Panel has simply disappeared! What the issue? Please help. Thank you and Regards, Richard EDIT: It seems there is a problem with this driver, I finally went back to an older version (416.34) with which I found the Nvidia Control Panel. Has anyone ever encountered this type of problem?

Hello, Just purchased this card, and thinking about the install process. I currently have a stable system with my 1060 6GB w 388.13 drivers. I like to change only 1 aspect of the system at a time to minimize possible issues and help chase problems, if necessary. Thoughts.... would it be better to upgrade the drivers first, and then ensure the system is stable with the new drivers, before putting in the new card or install the new card first, while keeping the drivers at 388.13. Hoping to heats others’ preferences & experiences. Mike

I built my current rig in late 2011, and it has held up surprisingly well. However, as I've moved up into P3Dv4.4 and soon 4.5, it's really been showing some occasional struggles. Most recently I've really struggled with frame rates at FlyTampa's KLAS, and PacSim's KSLC sceneries which I know are tough on frames in general. The majority of my flying is in PMDG or FSLabs aircraft, with occasional GA. I'm wondering if upgrading the graphics card will net me some increase in performance, and perhaps get me another year or two out of this system? It's currently running with an NVIDIA GTX 960. Obviously it's probably time to re-build, but I don't really have the budge…

Hi folks, I've had my 8700k overclocked now since i built my new computer around September time and had it running at about 4.8GHz with no problems. Then, after updating the drivers on my 1080Ti a few days ago, I first got a BSOD in P3D 4.4 on Tuesday while lying EGPH-EGKK and since had all kinds of BSODs and startup problems, including the computer not actually booting at all.. Just running a memory diagnostic and I've reset the BIOS settings to remove overclock so I can boot the computer properly. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had problems with the NVidia updates or whether it's just coincidental and something else is up with my computer and it's a coincide…

Hi guys. Having recently upgraded to a larger smart tv, I was wondering if I could use my redundant tv as a game monitor. It is also a smart tv but only 40 inches diagonal. My pc is more or less up to date with a fast cpu and a nvidia graphics card 1070ti. Anyone had a similar experience which they could share?

I recently installed a ASUS EX-GTX 1060 6OC card in my old Dell XPS 8500 running Win 10 64b Home in order to try to get a couple of years more use out of the box. So far, I'm quite pleased with the card. I'm running FSX-SE and often fly the PDMG products, especially the DC-6. I've noticed a significant improvement in smoothness so I think I'm OK for a while. However, I have noticed a couple of problems. First (and most distressing), when using Firefox, my browser of choice, Many of the click or action spots on some pages are invisible even though they exist and function properly if I can find them. Edge seems to work better but I want to stick with Firefox, if …

I have just read most of the topics about best monitor / tv for my rig.... Honeslty, what an absolute clusterF of information....so many different opinions and nothing solid to go by. 4 hours of reading and im still as confused as when I started 😩 30htz 60htz vsync hdmi / display port resolution, wide screen, 16:9, 2k, 4K, QLED, IP(?) panel.. samsung, benQ, , Phillips, Dell... A new rig will be with me this week, so need to get on it and get a decent monitor, so I think I’ll just go to the store and buy the best I can afford. (posted out of frustration....)

I just purchased a new PC(I-7 with 1080ti) and I receive the message "Memory modules were found on non-optimized memory slot". I am actually having some performance issues on X-plane 11 (textures). I've searched and found very little on the subject. Does anyone know if this does indeed effect performance and how difficult is it to change these slots. I've never messed around with componants and don't really feel comfortable doing anything inside the machine to be honest. Thank you.

Hi Guys The highest spec video card I've owned to date, is my elderly Strix GTX 970, which I believe is slowly dying on me:-( Due to finances, I'm almost never in the market for new, current spec cards, so right now I'm still looking out for a good priced GTX 1080. My CPU is delidded and heavily overclocked (currently at 5.1), with a custom water loop, so whatever video card I end up with, will "PROBABLY" be included in the loop at some point. My question(s)... Founders cards appear to considerably cheaper. It maybe a while before I add it to the water loop. Are they MUCH noisier than custom cards and do they have any other disadvantages? Thank…

So I got to thinking - I replaced my old system with a new dedicated gaming PC, which has an 8700k and a 1080. My old PC is just sitting there, and it has a 760 in it (I believe that's what it is, I'd have to turn it back on to be sure). So my question is this: would it make sense to add an older card as a second card to my gaming system? Obviously it's not going to give me a huge performance boost by any means, but would it help at all? Or would it just make no sense? I thought about getting another card to add to my system, but then I realized I already have one. And if I got 10-15% more performance for free, why not? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Hello, I have built a new intel i9 9900k PC running fully up to date Win 10 64, fine. Next I installed an RTX 2080ti and downloaded the latest drivers, i go to install the driver and I get this message " This NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows". Apparently, it's a common problem but thus far, I have found no solution, any help please? Best Phil

I was about to pull the trigger on on a new system, with a rtx 2080 card, but have been reading the multitude of problems with cards failing, being sent back for replacement only for them to fail too! I can’t find anything recent though, so I’m not sure what the situation with failure rates are at the moment ? Anyone in the know? Thanks Luke

Hi Guys I'm starting to get serious problems with my elderly video card (Asus Strix GTX 970). It has been heavily overclocked and pushed hard for a long time. Hence, I SERIOUSLY need a replacement card fairly quickly, but really cant afford a new one, so I've been looking at pre-owned GTX 1080 units on eBay. In the past (being better off lol), I've always purchased main brand names such as Asus, Gigabyte, EGVA etc. Looking on eBay, it seems the lesser name brands are often considerably cheaper. Specifically, I've seen Gainwood, PNY, MSI and Palit. What's the consensus on these brands guys? I suspect they probably perform very similar to main bra…
