I want to upgrade my monitor to go with my new built (i9900k and 2080ti) I currently have a 32inch 1080p 144hz and I'm looking to go with a 35 inch 1440p 100hz. Is it worth the upgrade and is there a visual difference between 1080p and 1440p? Thanks

Hello all I'm about to update my existing GTX 970 to a GTX 1070 TI. I've been running 382.53 for ages now and have had zero problems with them. My question is this - should I reinstall 382.53 (if it ain't broke...) or would these be holding the 1070 TI back ? In which case, please could you advise what the most appropriate drivers might be for the 1070 Ti ? Many thanks

I actually made a video when I setup my Samsung 4K monitor that covers this in depth: Skip to the 4:44 min mark thru 13:30 min ... the specific output range setting is discussed around the 6:00 min mark. Be aware that all current flight simulators only operate at 8bit color but is full spectrum. Also, need to be aware that whenever you update graphics drivers or do a Windows major update (like 1803) it will reset this back to default "Limited". I can pin this if you folks think it's important? Cheers, Rob.

I'm constantly wanting to upgrade monitors, and as you can probably tell from other posts, I tried the 43" 4k TV route, but it was too big of a footprint on my desk and I was sitting too close etc. I am going to stay with the 3 external monitors at 27." Win10. 4 monitors. 2 at 1680, one at 1600, and the main one at 1920. Is there a way to convince Windows to stop adjusting the resolution of the 3 secondary monitors when I run p3d fullscreen on the main one? It's getting obnoxious to have to keep changing the resolutions back. Thanks!

Hi Guys. I'm currently actively trying to make a main display replacement decision. Now I run 1080P 27" samsung with 2 22" panels for maps/web/etc. I'd like to upgrade to 4k or 1440p mainly so i can view the VC without having to zoom as often to read gauges. Would the below be a good replacement for the 27" I currently have? https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/q60-q60r-qled A few things to keep in mind: -My monitor is about 22-24" directly in front of me. -My computer is used for P3DV4 as well as a work computer. Browsing web/email/spreadsheets etc. -Also. I notice some TV's are now coming with Nvidia G-Sync. But mostly in the larg…

Is it worth it to try overclocking a 1080 Ti with my overall system specs below? I have the 9900K @ 5.0GHz and performance of P3D is very good. I have tried unsuccessfully to use MSI Afterburner to overclock the GPU to see if I can move a slider or two. I also have not tried doing anything with the 3200 main memory from the ASUS UEFI. Thanks, Bruce

  9. I need help to re-install the NVIDIA control panel. I mistakenly removed the control panel on the latest NVIDIA RTX 2080 update (431-60) What threw me was the control panel now had a icon in the apps section of window 10 which I never had before so that is why when I was going for the clean update, the control panel got hosed. After reloading the new driver (above) I got a message that the program could not find the control panel and gave me a link to the Microsoft Store. That in itself created a whole can of worms in that I now needed to set up an account with Microsoft to download a FREE NVIDIA control panel from them. After going through the process of supposedly …

Hello, don't know what forum this goes in but Im sure someone will let me know. Here is my situation. I just purchased a BenQ EW3270U 4K monitor. This thing is a BEAST. It's at least 2.75 larger than my previous monitor. Actually it's a bit of an overkill to be honest. Im running a WIn10 machine with FSX (boxed) all updates, 32Gig RAM, with a Nvidia GTX 980 GPU. Win10 rec. a native resolution of 3840x2160 running this monitor. Should I run FSX at the same resolution or something lower? I am probably running the limits to the extreme on the GTX 980. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

I asked this question a while back. I want to see if anything new/different has come into the market. I currently have an Acer Xr34. I've had it for 3.5 years now so I'd like to go 4k --- I think. I had considered the BenQ PD3200U in the past. Building a brand new 9900k / RTx 2080 Ti system so should be able to handle most anything. Suggestions? FYI, my gaming is 75% P3D, 25% call of duty type games.

Hey guys, I saw a thread on pmdg.com forums - https://www.howtogeek.com/437761/how-to-enable-ultra-low-latency-mode-for-nvidia-graphics/ This new feature worked real well on my FSX-SE+DX Fixer 4.0+Clouds with my 2070 Super (was flying pmdg md11) Will try it later with P3Dv4. You do need the new graphic driver, it does reduce the latency. Let the further test on here begin LOL

  14. I changed the monitor a few days ago to a monitor with G-Sync function. But it's broken and I can get a refund. And that's why I am asking for help. - I need a 27 "monitor (it can't be bigger !!!) - definitely G-Sync (I checked and it makes a big difference) My question is basically about resolution. Is HD (1920x1080) or QHD (2560 x 1440) ??? Does buying QHD with 27 "make sense ??? Can you see the difference in image quality in XP ??? And won't it lower FPS in XP ??? Just the difference in price between HD and QHD is significant, so I wonder if it's worth it: if the QHD image quality will be much better than HD ??? (4K I do not consider bec…

HI everyone! I use P3D v3 on my PC, and I will certainly buy and use P3D v4 in the next future. I mostly fly PMDG 737 NGX or MJC Q400 with ORBX BASE + Vectors + openLC + Trees HD, GSX, ASN, Chaseplane, fs2crew. And of course, sceneries for airports such as Jetstream LFRS, Aerosoft LEPA, etc. Perhaps I will fly FSLabs A320-X. My actual configuration is: Motherboard: Z97-A CPU: i7-4790k RAM: 2 x 4 Gb @ 1600 MHz CAS 9 GC: GTX970 OC by ASUS SSD: 2 x 250 Go, for Windows, P3D and addons HD: 1 x 1 To, for storage Screen: 24", 1080p I think it is necessary to upgrade my PC to improve gaming. I just purchased a new Ben Q PD3200U. I am considering getting a 2nd one. Real reason being that I do work from home quite a bit and having dual setup is always better. My last card was GTX970. This ran P3Dv4 pretty well. I have just updated it to a GTX1070ti. On paper this should be a huge improvement, but it is not. In fact I think the 970 was better. Now the 970 had 2x6 pin and the 1070ti uses an 8 pin fed by a 6+2 pin, all from 650w supply. This I believe is correct. The only other variable is that mobo has PCIe 2.0 x 16, whereas the GPU needs a 3.0 x 16 . What else can cause the poor performance. I am on Win 10 . Thanks in advance John

I have been using Nvidia cards for my flightsim rigs( GTX270- GTX570 - GTX780 -GTX1070). Now I am in process of updating my PC to get the best "flying" experience with the new MSFS. The natural thing for me is to get a RTX 1070 Super card, based on my Nvidia experience. AS the next XBOX coming in 2020 with AMD Navi based grapich, I guess it is time to switch from Nvidia and invest in an AMD Navi for the PC. Why? Because MSFS will be optimized for the AMD Navi to make a smooth transition to XBOX later. Your thoughs?

Hello forum, I have a GTX 1070 non-Ti, 16GB of RAM, and an i7 7700K processor, and my system just does not do Dynamic Lighting in P3D V4.5. I did a fresh install today and all I have is FTX Global and the DA CRJ 700/900. I've experienced this is all V4 versions but whenever I enable dynamic lighting in the settings, my entire computers' performance goes down the drain. The sim will go from a consistent and smooth 40+ FPS down to a laggy and delayed 5-10FPS. In Task Manager my GPU % goes from 50-60% up to 100%, and the YouTube video I'm watching on my second monitor also studders and doesn't play properly. I know the 1070 is dated now but it should be powerful e…

  22. I was having this problem of Nvidia Control Panel Settings not saving with a fresh install of new drivers. I spent forever changing all manner of things trying to figure it out. Finally, after rebooting and once again having my settings revert back to default, I opened the Geforce Experience instead of the control panel and presto. As soon as I opened the Experience window my multi-monitor and saved settings applied. I then rebooted and it has stayed set ever since. hope this helps anybody else having this issue.

  23. Hi first post, so hope done correctly and in correct forum! Recently had to replace both motherboard and Chip – partly down to 1 PC tech miss-diagnosing issue 1st time round. Using FX Gold, but am now thinking to either use steam edition, or another sim such as X plane. Any suggestions? Current PC setup: • Brand new: AMD FX-8358 Black Edition, 8 core, 4ghz. • Brand new: ASUS motherboard M5A787-M plus. • 8 Gb Ram: 2 x 4GB SP DDR3 1600(CL11) 14028665-11 (16N). If possible would like to keep and add another 8 in the two free slots if possible? • Gdegen 600w switching PSU. • 8gb ATI Radeon 3000 GPU Need your advice on two things: 1…

I know my computer is getting a bit long in the tooth but runs P3D decently at 30FPS almost always fully loaded. Its an old I-2500K o/c to 4.3 with a 6GB 1060 video card. I want a bigger monitor and UHD seems to be the way to go but my poor old computer would come to its knees trying to run P3D at that resolution. My financial compromise is to get the 27" UHD monitor and run it at 1440P. If it struggles too much then a GTX 1660 TI should help out. What do you think? Opinions please. John

Rarely do I find myself needing advice on what hardware to buy to get the simplest of jobs done, but with so many new tech things out there I am in need of some Monitor advice. I know I can spend my money where I like but its always good to get thoughts from the Hardware Gurus before wasting time and money on inadequate options. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. The story goes something like this, I have a Samsung SyncMaster 24" S24B370 60Hz 1920x1080 (DP connected) for main sim views and general PC stuff ( an older LED monitor I'll admit) and a much older Samsung SyncMaster 22" BW206 60Hz 1680x1050 (HDMI Connected) for display of maps, flightplans, Plates, a…
