  1. Greetings all, I'm building a Flight Simulator rig for a family member, and while I'm a computer guy and know my way around computer builds, I find myself a bit flummoxed about what GPU is going to support a setup that uses three projectors (a requirement). I have no aspirations of 4k on all 3 displays, but I would like to have it run at least 30fps on all screens, possibly 60 at 1920X1080. Some experience with what a "good performance" for this kind of setup would be appreciated, too. I know the tech but am not super experience at the flight sim scene to know what's plausible or not. We're not on a strict budget constraint per say but x2 2080s would be …

Hi there, Just downloaded and installed the latest nvidia driver (442.19). In nvidia control panel you can now select max FPS 30 or even 20 (former driver was max 40 FPS). By the way, my name is Rein. Live in the Netherlands and since a few monhs took the step from FSX SE to P3D 4.5. No regrets.

Hi all - just got myself a new rig with the following specs: GTX 2070 Super i7 9700K 16GB RAM And I want to buy a new monitor. Realistically I’m not going to be able to achieve 60fps, so I believe a 30hz capable monotor is going to be optimal. However, there doesn’t seem to be any way of telling if a monitor is 30hz capable, so I’d really like some recommendations on monitors people know are 30Hz capable. - Preferably max 27 inch, maybe ~30 at a push. - 30Hz capable, but also 60hz+ for use other than flight sim. - Open to different resolutions

  7. When I want some in-depth information about my video card, I refer to TweakGuides.com where the owner has provided several tweak guides, one of which is the Nvidia GeForce Tweak Guide - http://www.tweakguides.com/NVFORCE_1.html. Just bringing this to everyone's attention as it provides some very valuable information.

  8. Ok so it is just my 2 cents... Reviews worldwide show that Forza Horizon 4 which is a Microsoft title, is incredible fast using the New Radeon 5700XT. Microsoft will use AMD CPU and GPU for the next gen Xbox. Microsoft pc game Forza Horizon has huge FPS using Radeon 5700XT For me, it is crystal clear that using AMD CPU 3900x and GPU AMD 5700XT will be the sweetspot for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. 9. Just ordered the samsung CRG9 49". Ideally, I want the option of having the cockpit up on one portion of the screen and an exterior view on the other. I know I can open a new window for either but don't they generally lay over top of each other? Suggestions?

Hello, Recently I have been experiencing very strange problem I've never had before. Occasionally, when I start the PC, video card (1080Ti) fails to start. It takes me to slightly move HDMI connector on the video card in/out and left/right OR simply switch HDMI ports for the cable in order to bring video card back to life. It the video card happens to be start successfully during initial start-up, then it works flawlessly in the sim. As I mentioned, my problem happens during the start-up process only. I checked the monitor and video-card for ADA64 test and they both passed it. What else it could be? Corrupted HDMI cables? Best Regards Dmitriy

Why won’t Nvidia put more memory on their 2080 cards? It appears flight simulation is more in need of graphics memory than graphics processing power. I don’t need the processing power of a Titan RTX but I could use it’s memory! Give me a 16 or 24 gig option on a 2080ti. Though TombRaider and the like may do fine with 6,8,11 gigs, flight simulation needs more as many of us have witnessed and Rob has demonstrated. Nvidea needs to start taking flight simming seriously!

  15. After more than 3 years with my Acer Xr34, I decided to go 4K with my new 9900k build. Went with the BenQ PD3200. The BenQ is a great monitor. I just think I miss my ultrawide. Now, I am finding myself doing endless research on ultra-wides and even super ultra-wides. I think I want to go back to UW but wanted suggestions on what the best ones are for P3D's going into 2020. I definitely want it to be an upgrade over my XR34, but obviously won't be 4k and I am ok with that. My budget is around $1000. 80% of use is P3D and the rest of gaming are common titles such as COD, RDR2, etc. Thoughts?

Hello, I have two separate machines running FSX. They both seem to run the sim about the same. But that's the problem. I don't think they should. I don't even think it should be close. Here are the two machines. In another thread I got around to pointing out the two machines specs and asked why they would seem to run the sim the same but didn't really get a clear answer on that. Probably because it was about an OOM error and not running the Sim per se? Anyway, here are the two machines...... Just watched an LTT hands on with a 'holographic' display and dam that looks awesome. I immediately knew I wanted one for Flight Simulator (dreaming rn). If the technology develops and they increase in size to TV levels, this would be a pretty viable alternative to VR. You don't need a constant high FPS, no cables, you can easily see your keyboard and peripherals, but you still get the benefit of accurate scaling and depth of the environment. No headset, no worries.. maybe?

Hi guys. I'm considering a 34" 3440X1440 monitor. Right now I'm getting excellent P3D performance with a 24" monitor at 1080p and a GTX1080 (full system specs in sig). I know there will be some performance impact if I go to a 34" at 3440X1440 and I don't mind if I have to drop back a notch on some settings if needed. I'm just concerned about the performance impact being unmanageable. If anyone has any thoughts/opinions on what I might expect it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lloyd

The requirements it's from way to low to way to high for P3D V4 and so it doesn't make sense. FSX is just old and lagging/stuttering with so much addons and orbx scenery. WIth p3d V5 and with orbx scenery and aircraft! the lot you name it 🙂 Will the Asus 1660TI boost clock to 1890mhz will do the job with good FPS and no darn lag. Well.! I do expect to get low fps in heavy airports lol

Posts: 494BORN TO FLY Agregar segunda gráfica « on: Today at 15:34 » QuoteModify0 Hi. I have a question about f / s performance. I have a gtx970 4gb oc which has 4 outputs. I take 3 monitors with 3 hdmi outputs for 3 main screens and the fourth output is a matrox card from which I draw 3 more monitors. My question is, if I add another graphic to my pc will it make the f / s more fluid? For example, in Madrid aerosoft with everything butt I am on the 10 on the ground, as soon as it takes off it rises to 30. My processor is a 4790k oc at 4.7 ghz. Ram 16 . FSX. Window 7 64 bits.

I recently had to move my PC in my office to the other side of the room. Everything is connected properly but when turning on the PC and Monitor, the monitor says "entering power save mode" and I can't get out of it. the screen is just black. The HDMI cable is connected properly and so is everything else. Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of that? The monitor is a Dell U3415W . Thanks!

I am giving some thought to going from my current 3 monitor set up to a single 4K TV as a monitor. I see 43" 4K TVs on sale for under $300. My graphics card is a GTX-790. Any help or advice will be appreciated. I should add that I have an older system I7-4790 , which runs FSX-SE quite well with TripleHead2Go & 3 monitors.
