Aloha from Maui,It's been about a month of pulling my hair out trying to fix various graphics problems with my system. I just want to thank everyone for all of the help with getting FSX "flying".I ran into one problem after another with my system that uses ATI 5770 graphics cards in a crossfire setup. I found with help from this forum that ATI Crossfire was doing nothing for FSX or FS9. I pulled one card and everything was the same. No FPS change and no improvement to either flight simulator version. The problems: Huge Frame Rate hits near clouds and complex scenery like trees. With some of the fixes suggested there was a moderate graphics improvement and I was ready to…

Hello,Post it this on the fs2004 forums and i've been to post here."nvlddmkm has stopped responding and has successfully recovered." Just won't go away. I get it during taxi or landing whether it is a payware airport, freeware airport, or default airport. I tried every driver that nvidia released and so far nothing. I'm this close to just quit this hobby.Has anyone been able to find a solution for this problem? Or has been able to minimize the severity of this error?Your help is much appreciated.

Hi all,Today I upgraded from my EVGA GTX275 to a new MSI GTX470. First I had everything looking right, but I then realized that the entry in my fsx.cfg file said GTX275.So I deleted the file and let FSX built a new one. Then the GTX470 appeared in the cfg file. From that moment on I lost all my aircraft textures.Already in the window where you can see that aircraft turning there no textures on the aircraft. After that I tried 2 times extra letting FSX built a new cfg file, but no luck. The drivers have been removed with Driver Cleaner Pro and installed in Save mode.Help is appriciated.

It's out!The beta of the new 3d vision surround driver.Personally, I am more interested in the surround than the 3d, as I may be finally able to ditch triplehead 2 go.HardOCP gave it rave reviews.

Hello everyone,Being in the decisionmaking process for the purchase of a new computer (which I will be using mainly for FS9), I've been offered a system with following specs:CPU: Intel Core i7 920 @2.67 GhzRAM: Corsair DDR3 6GBVideo Card: Asus EAH5670/DI/512Mb (Ati Radeon)HD: Samsung 1TB Sata2 32MbThis system (and its price) seems OK to me, but I'm considering to have a 'comparable' Nvidia card built in instead of the Ati. Reasons: Good experience with Nvidia over many years, I like the tweaking possibilities of those cards (a.o. with Nhancer) and I'm a bit reluctant to 'jump into' a brand I do not know. Any advice would be very much appreciated.Kind regards,Ren

Hi,Perhaps someone can help me with this. I just bought an Asus Rampage III and a GTX 480 vard. For some reason (mechanical clearances?) the card does not work in PCI-e x16 slot 1 (the slot is ok, I tried with another card and it works) but it does in slot 2. Is there any problem if I install the card in slot #2?.Thanks.

Hi I've just purchased a new Zotac GTX480 and yes the performance is a massive improvement the quality isn't. In FSX and FS9 the picture is very jagged. I've tried running with nhancer on and off, set both AA and AF to max in nvidia control panel and nhancer, but the jagged picture remains can anyone suggest what is wrong. Many thanks in advance. Jez

Well, after all the good press on these 2.57's, I downloaded them again, installed them, and tried NickN's technique for getting them to work with Nhancer. I've followed NickN's directions exactly for the 2.57 Nvidia Driver to work without NHancer...However, I'm sure there is something that I'm missing. I've downloaded the required files and gotten the message, "success" after the export and import steps. When I go to my Nvidia Driver settings, it has not changed as Nick says it will. I don't get the shadows on text in FSX indicating that my AA is correct either. Is there a step where you have to EXPORT your FSX settings from Nhancer first, and then IMPORT them from a …

Currently using the 257.21 driver and FSX crashes a lot. Even with a few ******* tweaks. The 257.21 driver will in no way save any settings!Any ideas? Yes I let FSX rebuild the fsx.cfg file.Tweaks using are -[GRAPHICS]HIGHMEMFIX=1[bUFFERPOOLS]USEPOOLS=0 (1 crashes also (used without POOLSIZE))POOLSIZE=10000000[JOBSCHEDULER]AFFINITYMASK=15This 480 is quiet and cool. I was surprised.

I have just started upgrading my system. I installed a new ASUS motherboard, an I7-930 2.8GHZ CPU, 6GB of Mushkin Red line memory, I overclocked the system to run at a clock speed of 4.01 ghz. and it ran at below 72 degrees C. I run FS9 with every scenery imaginable, complete WOAI AI, plus many of my own creation. I have all sliders to the left, and it ran at around 45-50 FPS. Issues still left:Sometimes when turning my FPS stutters down to around 10-14 for a couple of seconds and then back to 50. I believe its the speed of the Hard disk, I will install a Velociraptor drive to cut the reading speed.I currently have a GE Force 8800 GTS and if I move the sliders to the lef…

Has anyone tried the GTX 470 in SLI? I know that SLI hasn't worked well in the past, i'm just wondering if the newest drivers and new hardware has helped this issue at all. This article: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/dis...gtx470-sli.html illustrates the scalability of the 470 and i'm thinking that it just might help us out in FSX too. -with some of these games, they're experiencing 2x the performance with SLI! - far different than in the past. Thoughts?

Hi,I want to use Flight Simulator X with 2 monitors and Nvidia 3D vision. The primary monitor supports 3D while secondary is not. I have a single GTX480 on board. I understood that the 3D supports Full Screen mode only, so is it possible to view 3D (full screen) on my primary monitor and run other secondary applications (like FSInn) on the second monitor? Is it possible also to put few 2D undocked panels on the secondary monitor? Appreciate your advice!Thank you

Hi guys,Now I know this must be a tired topic, but I'm after the most upto date views on which GPU gets FSX flowing nicely. The cards I have in mind are the Fermi 470/480 GPU's and the ATI (Asus) 5870.The problem I have is that although Nvidia cards are supposed to perform slightly better with FSX, the idea of spnding a fortune on a card that runs very hot and draws far more power than it's ATI rival has me stumped. A lot of reviews also claim the 5870 also has better frame rates in most other games. The ATI is also

i7 920 overclockedIm trying to figure out the best setting for bufferpools and my video card unfortunately i have no idea what to look for. ALthough the higher settings make the sim seem very very clear texture wise and panning, seems to be very crisp, however a such high bf i kept getting either ctd or graphic corruption. I see some with very low numbers like 5 mb or 5 000 000 but i have seen 80 000 000 and 200 000 000.So i just need some light on this topic, where can i look to see whats good what are users here using to have a good number for this and enjoying there specs and graphics. I was getting alot more spikes with lower settings.

Hi all I'm after some advice. I'm looking to upgrade my PC and I'm thinking that the GPU could be better. I'm currently running a Q6600, (700W Thermaltake tower liquid cooled) with 4GB RAM and a 8800GTX. I still use FS9 but I'm looking to get better FPS so I can play FSX with better graphics settings. What would you suggest, I've looked at the GTX480 or ATI 5970. I've read all reports and I think that the Nvidia seems better but I'm after a second opinion. Many thnkas in advance. Jez Smith

I would like to move from FSX on one screen to a three screen span which means buying a third screen and upgrading my 4870x2 to a 5000 series card. It was recommended that I buy a 2GB 5870, but $500+ dollars is just too expensive when I've only got about $600 to work with in the first place. So the question is, considering the fact that my current card with a 3.8GHz processor can output 30fps on one screen, would a 2GB 5850 manage something similar across three screens? Thanks

Ok guys, I have just installed my new ENGTX260 and been doing some tests with nHancer settings as per famous nick's post. The thing is that, although it looks a bit better because of antialiasing, the frames droped compared to what I could see with the ATI 5700GPU-Z shows better numbers for 5770 (shaders clock... etc)but in furmark benchmarks the GTX260 outperforms the 5770I'm totally confused

Hello everyone.I'm still using a rather old desktop computer for FS9. I was quite pleased with it until I started using Ultimate Terrain Europe... Frames dropped sharply and most of the time it can't display the pretty ground textures. I'd like to improve that, but I'm not sure of a new graphics card will put an end to that blurred misery. My system consists of the following stuff: CPU: AMD Athlon XP 3200+ (Barton - 2.2Ghz) Motherboard:Epox 8RDA6+ Pro Memory: 2x 1GB PC3200 Controller: Intel RAID Controller SRCS14L HDD: 4x 250GB SATA (8MB) in RAID-5 array Graphics: Asus N6600GT 128MB Screen: 19" 1600x1200 (1280x1024@85Hz) OS: Windows 7 Knowing FS9 can be quite CPU-inten…
