I recently installed the PMDG 747-400X pkg and I decided to use a 2nd monitor to see other views while using the #1 monitor for the cockpit view. Well this works fine , but I also tried to use #2 monitor to show the pages of the instruction Manuals while still showing the cockpit on the #1 monitor.(the manual is a pdf file outside FSX on my desktop). No Luck!!! Here's how I set it up, I moved the pdf file of the manual over to the #2 monitor & opened it that worked, then I started FSX and set up a flight using the 747, when I hit the fly now button the cockpit view opened as normal but the #2 monitor with the manual pages went black??? did I miss some…

Hello,I've been having this problem for quite some time now and though I've searched for a solution I haven't found one yet. :Cry: I have an aging Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 card and I'm running the 9.9 Catalyst drivers on Windows XP SP3.I decided (a while ago) to update my drivers, so I downloaded the latest Catalyst driver package from amd.com and tried to update.The package extracts to C:\Ati but the installer never starts. Hi. I read on jetline systems that a 5870 outperforms the GTX470 by several frames :)A friend of mine got 5-10 fps increase by switching from a 5770 to a gtx460 btwSo what is better for FSX, the GTX 470 or the 5870?

Newegg currently has the Zotac 1gb DDR5 nVidia GTX460 for $219US. Can I get a better card for that price?[i should mention i'm going from an ATI 4870...]

Hi, Am having problems installing the now famous ENBseries display enhancement add-on, on what seems to me is a driver compatibility issue (see error message below). I don't have proper MS DirectX drivers installed, but something else that seems to come from ATI (I have something called a Catalyst drivers) . Has anybody been able to run the ENBSeries add-on with a 4550? And if so, how did you manage? Any help would be appreciated.regards,Macs

Hi, Does anybody know how I could fix this? I have already removed the ENBSeries "d3d9.dll" driver, but actually want the mod to work. I have an ATI Radeon HD 4550, with a "Catalyst" package. Hi,Well, I finally got everything setup the way I want with two EVGA 480 video boards. I have one MAJOR problem, If I sit at FSDreamTeam's KDFW, my system reboots in a matter of a minute. No BSOD, it just reboots.I checked the temps, max I've seen via Nvidia Inspector is 64C. My P/S is an Enermax 1000Watt with two 8 pin and two six pin connectors made for two video boards such as this.If I am unable to get this worked out within the next day or two, these video boards are being returned to J&R.Anyone have any ideas?.

Hi,I use a Samsung 22" Syncmaster BW226 that is 3 years old, thinking of changing to a 23-24 inch monitor.Is anyone using the Samsung BX2335 23" which is available at my local computer shop?Or can anyone recommend any other good brand, been happy with my current one, but passingit on to my son whose screen went south.Also any difference between a 23 and a 24. both use the same resolution, except the 24 takes up moredesk space.Any suggestions are appreciated before I buy.Thanks,Helmut

I have nHancer installed and set up with an FSx profile, etc., as recommended in Nick_N's procedures for FSX perf. My current card is a 8800 GTS and I am about to install a 400 series card, and contemplate a later driver than I'm using now. I'm still trying to figure out the best way around the nHancer support issues for drivers 2xx.xx.My question is, assuming I find a satisfactory way around the use of nHancer and the higher drivers (I see some posts about this issue), should I uninstall nHancer and re-instal after the new GPU and drivers are installed? Or do the existing FSX profile settings still work OK with the new drivers? Thanks, Bruce.

Hi Guys, after my reinstall nightmare, i decided to re format and upgrade to win7. I have a fresh install and despite reading NickN's latest guides I am confused. Can some one summarise the best driver to use for my GTX295 in win7 64 bit ? Also, I cant work out which drivers are installed on the system, in device manager, it shows 2 entries for a GTX295 ( I only have the one card, but 2 monitors, one plugged in each outlet) The drivers installed by win 7 are the 190.38Hope you can help, Mark

I have a great system...you can check my signature on the bottom of my thread. However, I have the "itch" to upgrade my video card. I don't want to do it to have a lateral move...but I want a REAL upgrade to something that will give me better performance. Money is no object here. Hi,Well, I installed the new 1250 watt power supply. I started up the system and ran FSX. No sooner did FSX start to run and the system shut itself down. Now the monitors are black and I get nothing.I went back to my GTX285 and I still get nothing, looks like these boards fried my PCIE slots.The boards go back to J&R tomorrow, I'll have to look into replacing the Asus P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard as well, purchased from Newegg on 4/13/2009. I've just gone through a mid level upgrade on my PC and now find FS9 hangs mid way though it's boot sequence. I've checked video drivers etc even reinstalled FS9 and have not managed to come up with a solution.my system is Win XP SP2, AMD3 3.0GHZ CPU, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 1GB GeForce GT220 PCI-e 16 Vid Card with Direct X 9 installed. FSX runs great on my system, high frames (locked at 45), nice and smooth outside views even at busy airports.But i was wondering how heavily FSX relies on the graphics card? I heard it wasnt that much?The reason i ask is that my card has no fan speed control, so its always running at full speed, and is getting really noisy now. Hi Awl: I am now running multiple monitors. How do I prevent FSX from opening its menus and ATC windows etc and spanning 2 monitors when it opens them?If I open ATC window it places the window across two monitors. I can resize and drag this window to a single monitor, but the next time I run FSX it spans 2 monitors again.The worst is the Map window. Everytime it opens it spans 2 monitors. I can drag it to 1 monitor, but the next time it opens it spans 2 again.The aircraft selection and display settings windows also do this, always spanning 2 monitors every time no matter if I drag them to 1 monitor or now.Millions of people use dual or more monitors how is this prevented?…

Hey, I was happy yesterday because i've installed FS2004, so I got configured with almost all options to MAX settings and I tested this is KSEA default flight, but (with 32FPS locked) suddenly started the problems with appearances of a lot of stripes, and pointy figurres and ver stranges shapes, the plane is showed disarmed and with several strange shapes on it. This will kick up the resolution on my three Samsung SyncMaster T260HD 25.5" monitors.Just got tied of the Triple Head2Go and the reduced resolution. Hi,Is there any way to permanently increase the video board fan to 100%?. The board is at 40% and never changes, regardless of GPU temp. I have manually changed the fan speed to 100% via Nvidia Inspector but the next time I reboot the system, it reverts back to 40%.Thanks

I had actually once considered using these things as part of a research project in computer vision back when I still did that, but never ended up going that way. I recently got interested in trying out something like this with Flight Simulator when I started building a head-tracking device. Head-tracking is really, really great but when paired with a single 21" monitor can hardly be considered the best. Seems like I won't be satisfied until I get complete visual immersion -- which looks like it means monitor glasses.So, does anyone have any experience using any of these things with flight sims? Hi, I just upgraded to amd 965 be, and switched from nvidia gtx 260 to gigabyte hd5770. Running Rex 2.0, utx, and gex. Now I have a very strange issue with water textures. When flying just above the water it looks normal. But from a distance, it looks almost like its charged with electricity. I dont have any tearing of any texture on land. I have tried the water configuator which made no difference. I am quite sure its graphic card related thats why I posted here. Can someone offer any suggestions? \ps I also tried different refresh rates and have a dual display setup with identical displays.ThanksEric
