I recently upgraded my nVidia drivers and installed the new(ish) 'Inspector'.Having only an 8800GTS, the benefits were in the negative, so I removed the driver (properly), reverted back to 197.57 and reinstalled nHancer.HOWEVER... Since then, the external 'Frame Limiter' simply will not lock FSX frames. This is driving me nuts. Any idea what's going on?Here is the batch file:start D:\"! FS DATA\!4 MASTERS\FPS Limiter\"FPS_Limiter.exe /r:D3D9 /f:30 /x:OFF /l:OFF "F:\Flight Simulator X\fsx.exeIt does launch FSX, so SOMETHING is working. Thanks

I just bought a new PC for FS9 and FSX, with specs at the bottom here (signature). Unfortunately, after only 4 days with me the M/B developped a serious fault (HDD controller no longer sees the hard drives, it seems anyway) and it has had to go back to the manufacturer to be repaired. This gives me time, just, to sort out a question. It came with an nVidia GTX460 2GB GPU, but I since learn that this may be responsible for the black screens I get when accessing PMDG and Level-D option menus from the main FS9 menu bar I will use the PC for both FS9 and FSX). PMDG themsleves sent me an email saying that there are "documented problems in XP64 with the GTX 4xx series of cards a…

I had a blurry problem combined with a FSX crash problem using ForceWare 260.99 (great driver). I started testing flying the lovely ORBX Lancair at 1S2 and tried all of these steps and then presto, the textures are now crisp. Since they were all applied and tested one right after the other I now have no clue what fixed the blurry problem.Back to flying the Lancair..jja

I just upgraded my Catalyst driver to 10.10 and it appears to me that I'm no longer able to force AA in FSX via the CCC.It works in my other games just fine but not in FSX.Anyone with the same experience?[Resolved] I'm sorry. I was so ###### at this that I did not check it out properly. Only the aircraft preview screen is not getting any AA anymore. The game itself seems to be fine.

  5. Guys can anyone explain why 16 MS AA has worse FPS and benchmark result than 32X with latest furmark and latest nvidia 260 driver on my new gtx 480 at stock speeds?I cant explain it, regardless of resolution, full screen or windowed all the same results, my frames are much less in 16x than 32x and my score is low temps are the same. We aren't talking a few frames 16xaa in furmark shows an average of 24 and i get 53 with 32x. Why would the 32 run much smoother and give better results than 16x? ALso in a game 16 is slightly faster and 8 is even faster and none (AA) super fast. In games it makes sense.

In the early days of the *******-tweaks I read that a 2GB gpu wasn´t good if you´d implement the tweaks, and you should stick to 1GB. But as gpu development progresses, things may change, and I´d like to know if my assumption still applies. Lately I read about people SLI´ing the 480´s with no adverse effects on FSX. So, anyone got any experience with a 460 2GB edition? Will it benefit a triple widescreen setup (TH2G dig.)? This, if it makes a difference, is to be concidered on an i7 930 or higher setup.Any help appreciated.

I'm trying to use dual monitors so I can have cockpit view on the main and other panels on the secondary. I tried it with a 20" main and a 19" secondary but fs9 wouldn't load. Resolution is 1680x1050 on the main and 1440x900 on the secondary, is that the problem ? I unhooked the second monitor and fs9 loaded ok.

I used to have my FSX looking so great with NHancer and Nick's specs, but now that Nvidia has upped the drivers for my GTX 295, the "tweaking" has changed and now things are getting blurred. Does anyone have a standard as to what to do? Do I shut off NHancer and just let Nvidia do the work. Jaggies have come back and I think it is a conflict between the newer Nvidia drivers and a not yet updated NHancer. Any suggestions or help will be very appreciated. My specs:Intel Core i7 CPU [email protected] GHz6 GB RamW7 64 BitNvidia GeForce GTX 295Current Nvidia drivers 258.96

  12. Just a heads up here: Nvidia Inspector 1.93 is out and essentially adds all the functionality that used to be present in nHancer and now includes a GUI for editing profiles - huge update, no more cryptic feature names!Get it here:http://blog.orbmu2k....-inspector-toolI'm guessing this is probably the final death knell for nHancer... as far as I can see this does everything it used to do and more. I'll update my main post on Nvidia settings in the PMDG forum as soon as I get a chance to mess around with it some more.

I am not too sure what I can do about it.Can anyone suggest what is likely to be going on, and perhaps suggest a driver I am going to have less issues with?Any help would be appreciatedCheersBluey

Hi, Hoping I might be able to get a bit of advice. My system (Using 9800gtx+) runs into issues with FS2004 and FSX every time the FPS differ from 60. If the FPS are set to 30 or unlimited (or any other setting other than 60) strange skipping/stutters happen when moving or panning in the sim. Should the performance drop below 60fps the same issues happen. My system should easily be able to keep up with FS2004, however, should the FPS drop from 60, everything becomes very choppy. When the FPS are at a constant 60, everything is very smooth, no issues.I think this has something to do with Vsync and my LCD's refresh rate of 60HZ. If I set Vsync to off, FS2004 is smooth at varyi…

  15. If you want the best depiction of terrain, with lightning quick focus updates, and roads that are well-formed, trees and shrubbery, and mountains to the horizon, that are well formed and focused as viewed out to about 50 miles from your cockpit:Nvidia driver suite 257.15If you want the best depiction of water..lakes, oceans..with the most realistic wave action there is, and water that has a true depth of field...but LOUSY rendering of land....very slow to come into focus, and terrain mostly in a soft focus and blurry, until practically upon and over it:Nvidia driver suite 260.99 (the latest).I compare the 260.99's performance to render clear and blurry free almost 50 mile…

  16. Anyone tried this new type of AA with FSX ? those that may have bought a 6870 ?looks interesting because its a Post Processing Filter - so has almost no overhead .... which is impressiveit also gets applied to everything apparently - so may remove some jaggies in FSX that may or may not have been smoothed with AA beforeBUT conversely I've heard that it being applied to everything can make some text soft ? therefore I wonder how successful it will be with FSX ?http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-6870-radeon-hd-6850-barts,2776-4.htmlI'm umming and arring between a 6870 or a GTX470 at the moment - not sure which - leaning towards the 470 at the moment, but the perf…

I write to you to score a little problem that I know of Catalyst since version 10.2. Basically the video is cut by a diagonal and this saw the pictures. In these two examples you can see what happens:http://img840.images...s/i/issue1.jpg/ http://img819.images...s/i/issue2.jpg/ All on Dx9 activated, while, when the Dx10 preview is flagged all goes fine.Is there a solution? thanks in advance, regards EmanueleASUS P6T, Intel i7920, ATI HD5870 vaporx, W7 64Bit, 6GB RAM

Just a heads up for those reading the latest benchmarks - Ouch!"It's unclear how many samples were sent to reviewers with this problem, and it's difficult to determine if the action was intentional. There's no doubt that several of the published Radeon HD 6850 reviews have been tainted with inflated results. Readers should take caution, because there are many single-card and CrossFire reviews that were published using Sapphire, HIS, and XFX Radeon HD 6850 video cards. These articles may have consequently reported abnormally high test results, which could lead to a skewed public perception of the product's natural performance." Info here:Websites publish Radeon HD 6850 rev…

  20. Hello everyone, I am currently selling my old GTX 280 video card and wanted some advice on a new one. I was thinking about either getting a GTX 460 or a GTX 480. I have a wide screen monitor at 22 inches. What would be your recommendation? I am also in the process of purchasing a i7 950 chip as well. I may upgrade my monitor in the future to a 24 or possibly a 27 inch in the near future. Will I see any significant results for Flight Simulator (9) (X) having either card with those monitor sizes? Thanks in advance. This is a very informative and friendly forum and I have already learned so much in such little time.Lyndon

Hi there,I read something about GPU overclocking here in the forum and found this litte tool called "Nvidia Inspector". As you can read down below, I´ve overclocked my CPU´s a litte bit. I know that this makes sense to get more power . FSX works quite well on my system (I know it isn´t the best, I would call it mid class), but I want to get even more out of it.So my question is, whether GPU overclocking makes sense or not ? Hoping to get some answers...

Hi GuysI uninstalled both nHancer and my nVidia drivers, then installed the latest of both. Now I can't 'launch' nHancer. If I try, the nHancer logo appears, but then just runs as a background service. It won't open the application to change settings etc.I've tried reverting back to the previous versions, but it's still the same. What could I have done? Thanks

I'm thinking about buying another monitor to extend my view. Normally you see pictures of dual or triple monitor setups with the monitors next to each other. I'm wondering: is it possible (with Windows XP/7 and FSX) to have a setup like the attached picture? Thanks in advance for sharing your opinion on this.

My brother got my old system when I upgraded but I took all the fancy bits with me so he has a basic Dell Core 2 Duo system. It's fine for his needs but I was wondering if putting in a video card would help. Currently it's running on integrated graphics but I have an old Radeon 9250 laying around that will work with the computer.Would it help any to put in an old graphics card or would that be a setback?
