Now that I've been introduced to the NVidia environment, (and am getting used to it), I was wondering if there is a list of the different settings and their meanings. For instance, I'd simply like to look up OGL_AA_LINE_GAMMA_ENABLED and what it translates to. Is there a comprehensive list of these settings anywhere? Please advise and thanks!Mark

Hi All -- I'm giving consideration to building a new rig for FSX (never heard that before huh? <grin>). I tend not to follow the technology unless/until I get ready to build, so I'm getting myself caught up here. From what I've gathered reading here, the consensus seems to be that the GTX5xx chipsets are preferred for FSX. (Agreed?). But what about brand? When I built my last rig a few years back, it was Nvidia and ATI and that was mostly it. Now, there's Gigabyte, Asus, MSI, EVGA, etc., etc. that all have products centered around the GTX5xx series. Any significant differences that you've found, and what is your preference? Thanks!Scott

I've only just started with FS9 and I have a question...Don't laugh, but my current PC has a Pentium 4 3Ghz CPU, 1 GB of RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce FX5600I guess this arrangement is a joke as far as FS is concerned In time I will probably change to FSX (not sure of the advantages as yet). Without going overboard for a high-end gaming PC, can any advise me on an upgrade? I don't really want to build my own PC, although I guess this would be the most cost efficient solution?

Finally upgraded to my wide 3x24in monitor setup and have to say "Wow didn't know what I was missing". Looks great, but I have to admit I am confused as to why the high-end resolutions >1280x1024 require the need for *hacks/tweaks*. For those that don't know never Nvidia drivers I believe greater than 182. series are not compatible OOTB with triplehead2go's higher resolutions. So be warned. I'm still rapping my head around adding another band-aid to my system.

Hey Guys How to setup or order setup """I personally recommend that from a 'budget' and 'bang per buck' point of view that you forget SLI/Crossfire setups (as these very rarely add more than 20% performance increase and cost around £300-400 for the privelage)"""Happy LandingsEPZA

Hi: I need a quick piece of info...What are the symptoms of an overloaded video card vs an overheated card? My FSX application will run for about 15 minutes and then the screen will freeze and a stuttering audio sound will start...There is no way out...I have to shut down the computer with the power switch...Control-Alt-Del will not work...After I shut it down, I hear a very loud fan noise until the computer starts to reboot...How can i diagnose this problem? Thanks a lot,Steve

Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 2.4 GHz4 GB RAMWindows 7 64 BIT400W PSUAll stock items from Gateway, bought in 2007 from Best BuyI just upgraded from the 8600 GT (which came with the system) with the GTS 450. I installed, updated drivers, but I'm getting worse frame rates than with the 8600. With high settings on the displays, I'm only getting around 3-6 FPS at major airports on the ground. Granted, I'm using Captain Sim 727 as a test case, but still I was getting better results with my old card. Can someone please provide any help/advice?Thanks.

I just picked up a 570 GTX today. I am to cheap for the 580 in case you are wondering.Started tuning it up, I just bumped core, shader and mem to the same as the Super clocked version 797/1594/1950Ran OCCT and started playing w/ fan speeds. Room temp is 20c, under load, max fan setting it topped at 58c after 20 min run. Same test at 50% fan topped at 72c. I messed around with the fan curve in Afterburner and ran a test, peak temp was 62c max, fan speed at 60% and could barely hear it. Seems there are some folks getting 850 core out of this thing and I can see why. Been killing some tanks with the DCS A-10 @ 1920x1200 w/ max game settings (except bushes and civillian traff…

I am trying to install 2 graphics card into my pc. I have a geforce 8800 gt and a geforce 6600 gt. But windows only sees the 8800. Not even in the hardware devices i can see it. I use windows 64-bit.Any idea? Could it be my bios not supporting it? PS: I'm not trying to make any wide-display, just simple 4 seperate displays (for cockpit building use)

I run FSX on my computer and have recently bought a LG 2253TQ Flat screen. When I run it at 1920*1080 resolutions, it runs fine except the writing is smaller than I'd like.If I reduce the resolution, the screen size gets narrower and if I go to 800*600 the botom section of the window dissapears. I got the idea from somewhere that if I clicked on Full Screen that would solve the shrinking screen problem. Could some one please assist.Running Win7,GT9500 video card ,4 MB ram,160GB hdd,and a dual core amd processor...........Regards............Bigpom

Hi, I previously dabbled with a Matrox double head to go, and loved the concept, but hated the fact I had a bezel join right down the middle... so stopped using it and got myself a 30inch monitor instead.I am contemplating wether to revisit the set up, but using a triple head. On the spec it seems to be limited to triple 1280 x1024, which is a bit low for my liking. i already have 2 24 inch monitors as well as the 30 inch so would buy another 24 inch if required and was hoping to run at 1920 x 1200 on all 3.Can this be done? I have a GTX580 card. Will this be powerful enough? Or can I use any combination of what I have already. basically looking for some advice as the bes…

How do I connect a HD TV to my computer to run FSX?I have already tried to hook up a 720P Sanyo 32 inch TV to my Saphire HD 4650 video card via a HDMI plug with very limited success. I got the desktop once but nothing after that. I did not have a cord that plugs into the PC slot on the TV because my "Real" monitor uses a digital cable that will not fit the TV plug. I even reset the video card output to match the lower resolution of the TV and still no video. Are TVs only set up to take input via that PC plug and not a HDMI? I hate to only get a 23-24 inch monitor when I could for about $100 more get a larger screen and TV combo.Any suggestions why the TV might not like th…

I have been thinking of upgrading my ATI 4870 1Gb to a faster card now that I am running REX and ORBX addons. The prices for a 6850 1GB and a GTX 460 1GB are very close. Any recommendations on which card to buy? My Gigabyte MB is set up for Crossfire, but since Crossfire or SLI dont help a lot in FSX, I am assuming I can go with either. Any help is appreciated.Dreamflyer OverAMD Phenom II X4 955 Black @ 3.8 MhzGigabyte GA-MA790GPT-UD3H4 GB Corsair MemoryXFX 4870 1 GBWindows XP Pro

Hi folks, Prior to my grafic card change from the GTX 260 to the 560Ti in a couple of weeks, I just tried to overclock the GTX 260 an check out what she can do. But I totaly failed, she´s running on a lower clock speed than before. What went wrong? I´ve choosen the values from an allready overclocked MSI GTX 260. These were: GPU 620 Mhz, Shader 1296Mhz and memory 2160 Mhz. I applied these setting via the nVidia inspector and it didn´t work. In FSX the core frequence was 399 Mhz and all other clocks were also very low. I discovered that these setting were the settings of the "performance level [1] P8" setting and I tuned the "performance level [2] P0" settings. Now in FSX …

I decided to start a new thread for FS9 since the FSX thread is 4 pages long. I thought that the first responses to my question should prove to be very helpful to many of us so it might be well served at the top of a thread. By the way, the information that has been provided so far is great stuff...thank you. What could prove to be even more helpful is what settings would be an incremental adjustment higher? Say for instance the settings provided above still produce jagged edges on the leading edges of wings or shimmering of textures, what settings should I keep adjusting higher so I can make the decision of performance versus quality? Also, I don't know if 4x4 Super Sampl…

Hi Everyone Hmmm interesting one this .... I have just upgraded the firmware on my TH2Go and also downloaded the latest drivers to give me better widescreen resolutions for my screens What I am finding now is .. even though I have got some awesome resolutions to use when I am in FSX the little circle (egg timer)is constantly turning next to the mouse arrow I have installed this onto three other systems and the same thing is happening I got in touch with Matrox and their initial reply was that it is probably an issue in FSX .. I did explain that this didn't happen using the previous drivers and firmware Anyone else experiencing this problem and if so .. have you managed to…

Just installed an LG 23'' 16:9 monitor (I had a 17'' so far... big difference!)What settings must I change to have it proper set up regarding the image width? In the fsx.cfg file I changed the WideViewAspect=True. (was False with old screen)Resolution changed to 1920 x 1080. The 2D panel takes all the screen from right to left and looks like as if pressed from above. Pop up windows such as FMC are wider than normal and I have to reshape them.Should it be like this?VC looks fine. Thanks in advance,Christos
