I have a CH Products Pro Yoke and Pro Pedals that require serial port connection. I have a Gateway DX 4822. It has no serial ports. Will these controllers work correctly with a serial to usb adapter ( http://www.newegg.co...9-013-_-Product ) ? If not, will they work if I install a serial port card (http://www.newegg.co...4-025-_-Product)? I apologize in advance if this has been asked before - I couldn't find it if it has been.

At Newegg now.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814261099Might be a really good option for those looking for a "budget" card but are also looking for an NV Surround solution for FS9/FSX. That 2GB of ram sure would come in handy at multi-monitor resolutions.

Hi, I´m going to get a new GTX 560 in a coulpe of days as a replace for my GTX 260 and therefore I´ve checked the cards which my retailer has. There are 3 versions available: Two slightly overclocked, but more expensive Asus ones an one made by Gigabyte with default speeds, which is a bit cheaper. So I´m not knowing whether it makes sense to spend more money and get an overclocked version or whether I should get the version with default speed and overclock myselfe via nVidia inspector.

Hello Guys ! Trying to hook up one of those 9" little USB Monitor (touch screen IMo Eye9). Upon lunching FSX I get this message:"This Graphic Card (nVidia 275GTX) dos not meet minimum requirement for shader support, this products require a Ge force 3/Radon 8500 class or better Graphic Card"and BOOM, FSX is crashing to the desk top, I then can turn the USB Monitor, lunch fsx and then turn it on, it doesn't crash, but when I drag and drop one of my instrument to the USB Monitor it's actually not responding, means it's there but it's kind of frozen. No problem when I place my FSWIDGE flying kneeboard ANY IDEA ?????????????tnx in advanceYair

Hello everybody, I upgraded from a Radeon x1950 (256MB) to GTS250 (512MB). Of course I de-installed the ATI driver and catalyst.I installed the 260.89 nVidia driver for Win XP and the Inspector. I did the settings exactly as described here, tried both 8xS and and 8xSQ variant. I could clearly see a difference to when Inspector was not installed, so I know the changes were applied. But on MS Flight Sim 2004 I'm not happy with the result. it's MUCH worse than with the 256MB GPU, the text is blurry and the scenery is loaded for maybe a mile distance only.I did not change any FS9 settings.Any suggestions?

Hi, After reading some posts on the flightsim forum I downlodad the GPU-Z to see how my GTX 260 is used in FSX. I only took a default test flight from Friday Habour to another little airport near by with the trike. Than I checked the usage of my GPU and was shocked. All clocks were running on full load and the GPU got over 50°C hot. So I think it´s time for a change, maybe a GTX 560TI?Do you guys encounter anything similar in GPU load or is it just because of the "old" GTX 260 GPU?

Got a Newegg gift card and decided to upgrade my graphics card. Now I've got some issues to sort out. :Sigh: I'm using the latest driver from Nvidia having problems in FSX. What happens is that I load up a free flight session and the sim will just lock up. No blue screen, but I have to reset the computer. When Windows comes back up, it states that it has recovered from an error and the error details state "blue screen." Sometimes it freezes instantly and sometimes I can take off and fly a few minutes before the freeze. I have monitored temps and my card never goes above 60 degrees and my processor never breaks 50 degrees. There are no graphical glitches or artifa…

I am getting autogen spikes more frequently now. Using GPU-Z I see my video card temps are 64-69C. That's up to 138 F which Seems way too high to me. The room temp is about 66F. I have a Q6600 @ 3.6, and an 8800 GTX Ultra 768Mb card.1.) what should the temperature be, or a suitable range?I notice my fan is running at 60%, or about 1500rpm.2.) How do I increase the fan speed?Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!Scott

its probably a no brainer for FSX - and I'm guessing the answer is the 480 - but thought I'd check with those that are knowledgeable on here :)basically in the UK - you can pick up EOL 480s for less than the new 560 now. In benchmarks for recent games the 560 seems only about 10% behind the 480 - at 1900x1200 even with 4xAA appliedbut I've seen no comparisons in FSX of course - I'm guessing though that the 480 will be faster in FSX due to its extra memory bandwidth and extra sheer GPU grunt ?just wondering if the trade off for the additional heat and power is worth it though ....I've noticed quite a few managing 1k out of the 560 cores too so not sure if that muddies the…

I get FS to run at 20 fps at most and at KLGA @ 2 FPS!!!!! I'm terribly frustrated and have tried updated the drivers cleaning them out and messing with all the settings I could think of, I spent and out of options please someone direct me.

My current system: Core2Duo E6750, 4GB RAM, 9800GTX+The system runs FS9 and FSX very well and the 9800GTX+ has provided sterling performance except for AA in heavy clouds so wanted to look at options for upgrade of the video card.I have a budget of $250 and was interested in the new NVidia 560Ti (I understand AMD is not currently optimal for FSX). Could someone comment on this choice of a video card? Should I stretch out a bit more and go for something else (say another $30)?ThanksShez

Hi,I need your technical help.I launch SimTouch (http: // www.simtouch.eu/) on my main monitor, and FSX in window mode (necessarily, otherwise I would not see SimTouch). The tab Map displays and reacts correctly (that is that I see well my plane moving on the map).As soon as I put Simtouch on my second monitor (USB with DisplayLink), no more map : the display for this tab becomes black. On the other hand, all other tabs (of SimTouch) display correctly and work well...Thank you for your help(assistant).Bruno.precision : all my drivers are update, especially GC and displayLink (for usb monitor) ...

Here's a problem I've not seen in any forum. I hope someone else has run into this and has a solution. After installing the current version of Matrox PowerDesk for the TH2GO digital the opening screen, not the splash screen, in FSX crashes. When the opening screen comes up, if I click on any button, like change aircraft, change time of day, change airport, etc. FSX crashes. The latest firmware, current video drivers are all installed. I'm using 3 24" widesceen monitors. All the other problems that I've seen in the forums I've had too and thanks to those of you these have been solved except this one. If anyone has any idea what could be causing this and hopefully has a solu…

Hi guys...I got tired of reading reports about the GTX 480 and now the GTX 580 about the fps and the better rendering delivered... so... just for curiosity I just bought a pair of GTX 580 (a pair for games like metro 2033 and Mafia II) to finally compare the real pros and cons compared to what I was getting from ATI (now AMD) for a lower price...I'm gonna do some tests with Orbx PNW sceneries under heavy clouds (4096 HD REX2) with 100% UT2 traffic and show the results in a couple of HD videos in youtube (the classic before and after)... I hope not to be disappointed ... The cards are getting here in about 2 weeks, just in time for my vacations... stay tuned...Dexter...

I'm considering TrackitIR and was wondering if 1) it will work with a 48" Panel that I sit about 4.5 feet back from and 2) how does it work with EZCA - is it steady enough to work the VC with the motion effects? Also what happens when you turn your head in outside view - do you pan around the plane?Any feedback will be appreciated.Thanksjja

I'm still sitting a on holiday cash windfall and I'm aching to get a gtx 570. The gtx 275 in my computer now (see below) was a 'stop gap' measure for my (what was once new) rig, purchased for a bargan price while waiting for DX11 cards to arrive on the scene (my ol' 8800gts 512 wasn't worthy IMO) so I'm not that attached to it. After reading though all of SpiritFly's benches (hats off to these excellent efforts) I'm really stoked at the potential benefits of the upgrade, yet my rig's stable OC tops out at 4Ghz (if I really want to push it w/no HT). So I wonder: since my i7 is not even close to 4.4Ghz, is getting a gtx 570 really going to matter much , performance wise…
