Hey guys,I'm using a 32" TV, capable of 1920x1080 as my FSX montior. Runing a 3GB GTX 580. While I can get Windows 7 to display at this resolution (although I did have to force it through Nvidia control panel) for some reason this resolution does not appear in the FSX list of available resolutions.I've tried adding it into the FSX.CFG file manually, but the screen went blank and wouldn't display anything when FSX loaded at that setting.At the moment, I'm using a standard VGA cable, instead of a DVI. Is it possible that this could be causing the problem? Seems strange that Windows will accept the resolution but FSX won't run it.Thanks all,Kael

Hi All,I am using 3 - 23" Acers @1920 x 1080 and running them with a GTX 580 & a GTX 240. I have a couple of questions. First, when I elect to place 3 separate windowed views in place (one on each monitor - undocked) and I have configured the WideAspectView to "true" in the fsx cfg file, the main view (view 0) shows the wide screen view but the two other views on each of the side monitors do not. Each of the two side views (views 01 & 02) can be dragged to fit the surface of each of the side monitors but they do not appear to display the "WideAspectView" that the main monitor and its view do. I do not own Triple Head 2 go. Any way of getting all three views …

Right now I am using a Radeon 5770 with Eyefinity, and it is performing admirably for such a little card, I only suffer in high traffic and in the clouds. I've read enough around the forums to know that I need to switch to NVIDIA in order to get decent frame rates in these conditions. (which is sad, as it would be wonderful if an HD 6970 could do the job, since I'd only need the one card) I want to continue to use my triple monitor setup, so I am faced with a conundrum. I have a GTX260 and have set my graphics settings according to the Nvidia Inspector instructions here on the forum, but can't ged rid of the shimmering/jaggies. All textures sort of become unclear when viewing from the distance. You can especially see it on the AI traffic textures. And then you look close and see that the textures are nice and clear. Also the red text above the AI traffic is like "too sharp" and not soft and clear. Anyone knows why?This is not a driver issue, I have tried many different ones.

I currently am using an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 3.2 GHz and 4 Gigs mem with an ATI4870 512K video card along with an Analog TH2Go. My three monitors are 1280x1024. I am thinking of upgrading to widescreen monitors and understand I will need to upgrade the TH2Go to digital. What other improvements will go well with FSX?

Today I finally got tired of my old ATI 4870. Quite honestly it's a great card, but when it comes to running into clouds, it gets brought to it's knees. I have a two computer setup, one with XP Pro 64bit, the other with XP Pro 32bit operating systems.On my primary 64bit unit, I decided that I wanted a clean desktop and would just disable the desktop icons display and include those choices only in my bottom toolbar. I'm looking at upgrading my GPU for better performance while using multimonitors. I'm currently running a Radeon HD 5770 with 3 displays at 1920x1080, and I run GEX, REX 2OD, UTX, ORBX, TrafficX, and a host of addon aircraft. I have my settings tuned according to Nick's tweaks. I generally get good performance, but suffer extreme performance drops when I get to about 2 mile final at hub airports like KDFW, or when I fly near clouds (i.e. I drop from my pinned 25fps to single digits). I have noticed that when I run a single monitor I see a marginal drop in performance to high teens.I know that I'm not CPU limited, I'm running an i7 2600k (still at stock because it's r…

How do you get rid of the dust on the gpu ? I have just noticed lots of dust on the fan and stuff but can't clean it right. I got rid of some with cotton swabs but there is so much you can do .I thought of compressed air but wouldn't want to screw things up.ThanksVic

My Domino CPU cooler has blown and it seems to have taken my GTX285 with it....I've replaced the cooler and the computer starts up, but with a 'pattern' effect on screen and after booting, it reports that it can't find an Nvidia adapter present, so I guess the graphics card has had it.My question is: What Nvidia adapter would you recommend as a reasonable replacement without having to remortgage the house?The machine is running Win7 (64bit) on an Asus P6T SE mobo with an Intel I7 985 CPU, and is mainly used for FSX.Thanks for any ideas.Toni.

Hi,Brand new student pilot and new FSX'er. I actually found this forum looking for info about FSX and issues with the sim I am setting up. I was considering dropping back to FS9 since I had read SimSamurai's guide which seems to push FS9. I found a recent thread on here and it was locked due to evidently the discussion devolving into FS9 vs FSX which I was considering. That is not what I want to happen here. What I'm wondering about is weather its its worth spending an extra $100 and getting a 3GB version or just get the standard 1534MB version?Would FSX make use of this much video RAM?Cheers,Kael

I am using the USB CH Products Rudder Pedals. On my old computer (Dell 720, Vista 32),one bug I had was in flight the rudders would go full left and the plane would go out of control, when looking at the flight control display,it shows the rudder sliders stuck full left, the outside view also confirms full left rudder. The only way to resolve it was to unplug the rudder pedals and then re-plug in. It'll re-set centered and all is well.Now with the new computer Win 64, the same thing happens. I find it strange it is only with the rudder pedals and it every time about 5 minutes without being used. Is there a setting I can change?

Could use some help,I am building this simulator for a Flight School and the budget for a new PC is about $1,200 and monitors/TV's is about $1,200. I have the cockpit and panel built, but not sure of the best way to do the video.Would like to use flat panel TV's for the following: 2- 32" side TV's and 1- 47" center TV. I want the straight ahead view on the Center and the 2 side views on the side monitor's. I believe this is the best way to get a 180 degree view (could use other ideas). Hi guys, today I had to reseat my GFX card to get a better airflow because I strugle to get my CPU cool. So I changed the position of my GFX card from the first PCIex16 to the second down below and now it seems that windows aero and the transparent windows aren´t woking. Windows says that my current grafic driver doesn´t support windows aero. I also have some blured areas on my monitor and nVidia Inspector couldn´t find a installed GFX card. Does someone have a clue for this? I´ve discovered that the Nvidia Control panel doesn´t work anymore. It says "No nVidia GPU installed.".
